18 DIGITAL TOURNIQUET. Description of Function: 1.An automatic tourniquet system comprises variable pressure cuff apparatus forapplying a variable pressure to a limb or artery of a patient in order to occlude bloodflow to the limb for doing a bloodless and clean surgery. The control apparatus fordetermining the operative pressure for a patient and a variable pressure cuff apparatusfor minimum effective pressure and time required for complete blood flow occlusion. Should be an automatic tourniquet. Should have facility to use single and dual cuff tourniquet. Should not require any external high pressure air. Should have continuous and bright display for actual cuff pressure, set pressure and time. It should have colour touch screen display of 8” minimum. The cuff pressure should not be released on power failure Should be possible to increase and decrease the set cuff pressure online Should have facility to release cuff pressure without disconnecting the cuffs from the machine Should have a cuff pressure from 10 to 400 mmHg Should have a timer setting from 10 minute to 3 hours. Should have audible and visual alarm for pressure increase and decrease from the set value. Should have audible and visual alarm for reaching the set time Should be supplied with two sets of good quality cuffs (Upperlimb-2, Lower limb-2) for paediatric and adult size Unit should function with 200-240Vac, 50/60 Hz input power supply. Quality and standard The model should be CE(notified) / FDA approved The manufacturer should be ISO 13485 certified The model should have electrical safety compliance to IEC 60601-1Standards, Safety and Training for Automatic Tourniquet System:- 1. Should have a European CE or FDA approved certification. 2. May preferably be compliant with IEC 61010 -1 / or any international equivalent viz. EN/UL 61010 covering safety requirements for electrical equipment for measurement control andlaboratory use. 3. The unit shall be capable of being stored continuously in ambient temperature of 0-50deg Cand relative humidity of 15 - 90% 4. The unit shall be capable of operating in ambient temperature of 20-30 deg C and relativehumidity of less than 70%.
