COPPER PLATE EARTHING:Making Earth pit complete with copper plate 60 cm x 60 cm x 3.15 mm thick electrode and 25 mmx3 mm copper strip. Copper plate is to be buried directly in ground with top edge of the plate not less than 3.0 metres below normal ground level. Copper strip to be bolted with the earth plate at three points by means of copper bolts, nuts, check nuts and washers. Earth strip to be extended upto earth test point in earth chamber at ground level. Scope of work includes excavation of earth & refilling, drilling hole to electrodes, supply and covering the earth plate with alternate layer of salt and charcoal (not less than 15.0 cm on both side of plate), PCC pit and CI cover, Funnel with watering pipe, wire mesh and copper lugs etc as specified, GI protection pipe of size as specified for protection of earthing lead from top of earth plate upto earth chamber, laying copper strip of length of 5.0 mtrs connecting from test point to mainswitch or switch board or equipment and any other work necessary to complete making earth pit in all respect. Note: Earth resistance to be achived 0.5 ohms by connecting all eartpits as grid as directed by EIC
