Scope of work for preparation of waste management plan 1. Introduction This Scope of Work outlines the solid waste management responsibilities for the construction, maintenance, and/or operational phases of the earthen M.I.tank project located at Charawane, Sattari Goa. The aim is to ensure environmentally sound and regulatory-compliant waste handling practices. 2. Objectives Prevent environmental pollution during M.I. tank construction, operation, or maintenance, Ensure safe handling, segregation, collection, transportation, treatment, and disposal of solid waste, Comply with applicable environmental laws and regulations (eg. Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016-India or relevant local legislation) 3. Scope of Services, 3.1 Waste Characterization Identification and classification of solid wastes generated (e.g., construction debris, organic waste, plastics, hazardous waste, etc.), Quantification of expected waste volumes during different project phases, 3.2 Waste Segregation Setup and management of on-site segregation systems (biodegradable, non-biodegradable, recyclable, hazardous), Color-coded bins and signage for effective segregation, 3.3 Waste Collection and Storage, Daily/periodic collection of solid waste from designated zones (labor camps, construction sites, offices, etc.), Temporary on-site storage with proper containment to prevent leakage, odor, and pest infestation, 3.4 Waste Transportation, Transport of segregated waste to appropriate treatment or disposal facilities, Use of authorized waste transporters where required, 3.5 Waste Treatment and Disposal Biodegradable waste: composting or approved bio-treatment, Recyclables: sent to authorized recycling centers, Construction and demolition (C&D) waste: reused on-site (if possible) or sent to approved C&D facilities, Hazardous waste: handled and disposed of as per applicable hazardous waste rules, 3.6 Camp and Office Waste Management Provision of sanitation and waste management systems in labor camps and project offices, Awareness programs for workers on solid waste management, 3.7 Compliance and Documentation Maintain records of waste generated, transported, and disposed of. Submission of periodic waste management reports to project authorities or regulators.Ensure compliance with environmental clearance conditions and local/state solid waste regulations, 4. Disposal of building rubbish/malba/ similar unserviceable dismantled or waste materials by mechanical means including loading, transporting and unloading the same at C & D Waste Management Site like near Jahangir Puri Safai Karmchari Quarters at Burari Plant, including weighing at plant etc. complete as per direction of Engineer-in-charge. Weighing and unloading at the plant shall be as per procedures/ rules of the Plant Management. The rates are inclusive of all operation, labours, leads and lifts from site of work to the C & D Waste plant. (Processing fees at prescribed rate of C & D waste Management plant will be deposited by the agency and shall be reimbursed by the department on production of only original cash receipts). All complete as per direction of Engineer-in-chrage. 2. Any challan issued from MCD, CPCB, NGT etc. for non cleaning/dumped garbage etc. shall be borne by the agency/contractor at his own cost.
