The earth pit should be provided with a FRP or EPCC earth pit cover for protection and safe guard of terminals. In areas where soil condition is bad, GOOD EARTH i.e. BLACK COTTON OR MOISTURES NORMAL SOIL is to be arranged to fill the excavated pits by mixing the arranged soil with BFC 2-4 bags CONDUCTOLITE BFC for installation of earth electrode. As the earth electrode is the main component of the Earthing system which is in direct contact with the ground and thus provides a means of releasing or collecting earth leakage currents. The material should have good electrical conductivity & anti corrosion property in wide range of soil conditions. Model ASEEL 39 (Zinc & AC Coated ) (All the above given dimensions may vary ± 1 MM). OR Make “INDELEC”, “ERICO”, “MACMATE” . For installation of 3m earth electrode 1 Electrode with 2-4 bags BFC Conductolite or 2-4 bags BFC Electrodite to mixed with soil for lowering soil resistivity in excavated pit. 1) The buried Conductors (GI/Copper/ALM) are to be covered by 150mm thick layer of ELECTRODITE/ CONDUCTOLITE for additional protection of conductors & better conductivity to lower the resistivity of soil & bring down earth resistance. Note : Main earth lead beyond 7.5 metre shall be measured and paid separately.
