REPAIRS/MAINTENANCE OF EARTHING INFRASTRUCTURE AND UNSERVICEABLE LIGHTING CONDUCTOR AT AIR FORCE STATION JAISALMER

Testing existing Earthings of any type in Technical Area and Domestic Area at Air Force Station Jaisalmer using four point method (wenner method) or three terminal methods (fall of potential method) with appropriate earth resistance tester, spike and wire, recording of earth test results in a pucca bound register (as per format given by Engineer-in-Charge) duly signed by the contractor or his accredited representative and Engineer-in-Charge contersigned by GE complete all as specified and directed at site. NOTE:-Unit rates qouted by the contracator shall be deemed to be included for all equipments/T&P/Vehicles and labour required for testing of existing earthing as complete job. Nothing extra shall be payble to the contractor on this account.

M&L for Reviving Old Unserviceable Earthings by excavating the existing earthing, checking the condition of earth electrode of any type, water pipe, earthing strip of any type, providing of charcoal, salt in alternate layer all arround the earth electrode after cleaning it throughly if found serviceable, re- fixing of existing protection pipe, earthing strip, watering pipe, funnel etc and returning, filling in excavated soil, making of earth pit chamber PCC (1:2:4) type B-1 and earth pit chamber cover reinforced with hard drawn steel wire fabric weighing not less than 4 Kg/sqm in liew of CI cover as per Earth Plate No 5 of SSR complete all as specifed and directed at site. Note : 1. After excavation of existing earths, if the condition of earth electrode, GI protection pipe, watering pipe, funnel, earth strip is not satisfactory, the same shall be provided under relevent item as "supply and fix" or "M&L" 2. If the condition of earth electrode, GI protection pipe, earth strip, funnel, GI watering pipe is serviceable, then earths shall be revived using necessary quantity of charcoal and salt, cost of the same shall be deemed to be included in unit quoted rates, 3. Cost of excavation and earth work, making of new earth pit chamber of PCC, RCC chamber cover, charcoal and salt, nuts, bolts, washers etc required for making the existing earths functional shall be deemed to be included in unit rates quoted by the contractor.

Taking down existing copper earth strip of any size, cleaning and stacking the serviceable materials for reuse and refixing including removing the unserviceable materials from site required under Schedule of credit complete all as specified and directed.

Taking down existing aluminium earth strip of any size, cleaning and stacking the serviceable materials for reuse and refixing including removing the unserviceable materials from site required under Schedule of credit complete all as specified and directed.

Taking down existing galvanised iron earth strip of any size, cleaning and stacking the serviceable materials for reuse and refixing including removing the unserviceable materials from site required under Schedule of credit complete all as specified and directed.

S&F in replacement Earth Resistance Marking Plate fabricated from MS plate not less than 3mm thick, in square shape of size 200x200mm, fixed to equal angle of size 20x20x3mm of length 0.75 mtr, 0.30 mtr shall be embedded in PCC of 1:2:4, type B-1, using 15mm stone aggregate of size 200x200x300mm below ground level in and including necessary earth work duly writing of earthing No and details of earth, painted with applicable colour code for conventional/ chemical earthing complete all as specified and directed

S&F in replacement 600x600x3mm size copper earth electrode plate complete all as specified and directed at site

S&F in replacement 600x600x6mm galvanised iron earth electrode plate complete all as specified and directed at site.

S&F in replacement Water Funnel as per existing for earthing complete all as specified and directed at site.

M&L for Chemical Earthing complete with CPRI tested 50mm bore pure copper earth electrode pipe with wall thickness of copper pipe not less than 20 gauge, of length 3000mm, pipe in copper strip Technology with NABL tested, RoHS compliant earth enhancement compound 50 Kg in each bore hole in tripod configuration (three numbers of 50mm dia pure copper electrode pipe) interconnected with 20x3.15mm size copper strip and connected by means of exothermic brazing & porected by GI pipe light grade 32mm bore and PCC (1:2:4) type B1 earth chamber & cast iron earth pit cover 300x300x3mm connecting to test point & testing on ground complete includingexcavation, earth work, boring in any type of soil strata & cleaning of site including taking down/dismantling existing earthing sets complete all as specified and directed. Note :- (i) Cost of 20x3.15mm size copper strip and 32mm bore GI pipe light grade required for interconnection of three numbers of pure copper 50mm dia earth electrode is deemed to be included in unit quoted rates. Copper strip of suitable size from earth pit to test point/equipment shall be measured and paid seperately. (ii) Cost of earth work, boring, PCC earth pit, CI cover, testing of earth after completion, connecting and commissioning is deemed to be included in unit quoted rates. (iii) Marking & painting of earth pit with iron plate of suitable size is deemed to be included in unit quoted rates (iv) The boring will take place for 350mm dia and 3m depth for three numbers of pure copper earth electrode pipe to form tripod configuration. Earth enhance compound to be filled around the earth electrode in 100mm dia in 3 layers of 1m each by means of PVC pipe of 100mm dia as casing/formwork. The remaining volume of bore shall be filled with clay soil available in vicinity in 3 layers of 1m each. The PVC pipe shall be removed sinultaneously. The cost of all this is deemed to be included in the quoted rate. (v) Minimum distance between each earthing is not less than 3m. (vi) Testing of earthing shall be conducted and result should be less than 1.00 Ohms. (vii) On testing after completion if the desired earth resistance is not obtained the earthing will be redone at no extra cost.

M&L for Conventional Earthing complete with Galvanised Iron earth plate electrode 60cmx60cmx6mm thick buried directly in ground vertically at (Earth pit not less than 2.25m deep below ground level) a depth not less than 2.25m below normal ground level with top edge of earth plate at depth not less than 1.5m below normal ground level surrounded from all sides by 15cm thick packed layer of charcoal dust and common salt filling in alternate layers and electrode connection by using 32x6mm size galvanised iron strip by means of bolts, nuts, check nuts and washers of galvanized iron and protected by 40mm bore GI pipe medium grade connected to main switch board or main control board and 20mm bore GI pipe light grade for watering and including funnel, wire mesh, 80mm thick pre-cast RCC (1:2:4) type B-1 cover reinforced with hard drawn steel wire fabric weighing not less than 4Kg/Sqm in lieu of CI cover, PCC (1:2:4) type B-1 pit/chamber including all necessary excavation: and earth work, form work, disposal of surplus soil to a distance not exceeding 50m all as specified and al shown in Electrical Plate No.3 of MES Standard Schedule of Rates 2009 Part-I including taking down/dismantling existing earthing sets complete all as specified and directed. Note:- (i) The unit rate shall deemed to include for Test point, PCC pit, 32x6mm size galvanised iron strip from top of the earth plate up to 7.5m above ground level. In case 40mm bore GI pipe medium gradeI protection pipe required is less than 7.5m, no price adjustment shall be made. (ii) PCC pit shall be provided at least 500mm away from the earth pit and not just on the earth pit and extra cost of additional length of water pipes and fittings, junctions, elbow etc shall be deemed to be included in the unit rate. (iii) On testing after completion if the desired earth resistance is not obtained the earthing will be redone at no extra cost.

S&F 20x3mm size copper strip earth continuity conductor or main earthing lead fixed to wall on batten or recess or chases or buried in ground or drawn in conduit / pipe pr fixed to poles or any other indicated situation for loop earthing etc complete all as specified and directed.

Fixing only old retrieved serviceable 20x3mm size copper strip earth continuity conductor or main earthing lead fixed to wall on batten or recess or chases or buried in ground or drawn in conduit / pipe pr fixed to poles or any other indicated situation for loop earthing etc complete all as specified and directed. Note:-Old earth strip retrieved from Serial Iten No. 3 shall be reused.

S&F 25x3.15mm size aluminium strip earth continuity conductor or main earthing lead fixed to wall on batten or recess or chases or buried in ground or drawn in conduit / pipe pr fixed to poles or any other indicated situation for loop earthing etc complete all as specified and directed.

S&F 32 X 6mm size galvanised iron strip earth continuity conductor or main earthing lead fixed to wall on batten or recess or chases or buried in ground or drawn in conduit / pipe pr fixed to poles or any other indicated situation for loop earthing etc complete all as specified and directed.

Supply, lay and fix in replacement 50mm bore galvanised iron pipe light grade with all fittings as protection pipe for earth strips, laid in trenches, fixed on poles, walls and ceilings or laid in floors, laid in road crossing /hard standing/pole protection fixed with clamps of size 25x3mm mild steel flat iron as welded to pipe as per site requirement etc complete all as specified and as directed.

Supply, lay and fix in replacement 40mm bore galvanised iron pipe light grade with all fittings as protection pipe for earth strips, laid in trenches, fixed on poles, walls and ceilings or laid in floors, laid in road crossing /hard standing/pole protection fixed with clamps of size 25x3mm mild steel flat iron as welded to pipe as per site requirement etc complete all as specified and as directed.

Supply, lay and fix in replacement 20mm bore galvanised iron pipe medium grade with all fittings as protection pipe for earth strips, laid in trenches, fixed on poles, walls and ceilings or laid in floors, laid in road crossing /hard standing/pole protection fixed with clamps of size 25x3mm mild steel flat iron as welded to pipe as per site requirement etc complete all as specified and as directed.

S&F in replacement porcelain insulators suitable for fixing earthing strips to walls/floors etc complete with necessary nuts bolts and fixtures etc complete all as specified and directed.

S&F in replacement 12mm dia copper air termination rod, single pointed, 300mm long complete all as specified and directed.

S&F in replacement 12mm dia aluminium air termination rod, single pointed, 300mm long complete all as specified and directed.

S&F in replacement Test point terminal block made of gun metal or phosphorus bronze size 75x75x25mm drilled and screwed including 3 nos. 8mm dia 25mm long hexagonal head screw complete all as specified and directed.

M&L for cement concrete (1:2:4) type B-1, using 20 mm graded crushed stone aggregate as in coping of poles, making base for fixing earth strips, air temination rod on roof top, blastpen, path to LT Panels boards, Bollard lights base, surface channel of manholes/ drains, cills, hold fasts, and the like in any position, benching for manholes, water stand post, plateform, path and the like; including weathering, slightly rounded or chamfered angles and throating including necessary form work as complete all as specified and directed.

Note :- Unit rate(s) qouted by the contractor for Item(s) "in replacement or in repairs" shall be deemed to be included for dismantling / taking down or up carefully existing item(s) and removing the old unserviceable or serviceable or partly serviceable materials from site, which shall be sold to the contractor as per "Schedule of credit' and shall be the properity of the contractor. No claim whatsoever as to the quality of old retrieved material shall be entertained on this account.
