MISCELLANEOUS CIVIL AND PAINTING WORKS AT BPCL MCI

Miscellaneous Civil and painting work at BPCL MCI Mangalore Coastal Installation (MCI) is a Petroleum Oil and Lubes (POL) Installation owned by BPCL which is situated at Mangalore city. Spanning 69 acres, the installation is responsible for meeting the MS (Motor Spirit) and HSD (High-Speed Diesel) demands of the Mangalore market. It serves multiple sales areas, including the Mangalore Retail Territory, Gulbarga Territory, Calicut Territory, as well as providing rescue loads to the Belgaum Territory and supporting Industrial & Commercial (I&C) clients. BPCL MCI is having 3 km long fire hydrant network. As per OISD 244, the gap between the fire water pipeline and ground shall be minimum 300 mm and it shall be paved. Due to not paving vegetation below the pipeline has grown. In order to control the growth of vegetation it should be paved. It is observed that in few areas of this network mainly in the tank lorry parking area and behind car parking area, pavement below the fire water pipeline is not there and huge vegetation growth is observed. Also, approach to sludge pit and approach to FLP switches for Oil skimmers are not paved for men and machine approach causing inconvenience in operations and maintenance activities.
