The contractor until rate shall be all as specified in clauses 505-9 except that the rate shall include the provision of bitumen @ 4.50% by weight of total mixture. If bitumen/binder cotent required is more than as specified in BOQ & MORT&H (5th revision) no extra payment will be made. The extra bitumen/binder content will be considered as incidental to work. Before starting the work, the contrator shall propse different percentage of different sizes of coarse and fine aggregates which be intends to mix in order to get required grading the same will be approved by the engineer in charge after the total quantity of bitumen for Dense Bituminous macadam course.
Note:-
1. The execution of Dense Bituminous Macadam will be done only after approval of job Mix Formula from the competent authority i.e. Engineer-in-charge.
2. Apart from the conformity with the grading and quality requirement of individual ingredients, the mix aggregate i.e. stone metal, crushed bajri and fine aggregate for bituminious macadam course (Grading-2) for 50 mm thickness shall meet all requirements set forth in clause 505 of Ministry of Road Transport & Highway specifications Road & Bridge Works.
3. The final grading for aggregate required for Dense Bituminous Macadam course (Grading-2) of 50 mm thickness confirming to Table 500-10 of Ministry of road Transport & Highways specification for Road & Highway specifications for Road and Bridge works fifth Revision ( 2013) shall be determined by the Engineer-in-charge after gettting Dense Bituminous macadam (Grading-2) designed from either C.R.R.I New Delhi or Punjab Engineering college, Chandigarh or Punjab P.W.D. laboratory, patiala or any other reputed laboratory approved by Chief Engineer, Punjab PWD B&R Branch, Patiala after obtaining 60% of the materials for the required grading at plant site. The design mix so finally approved by the Engineer-in-charge shall be termed as approved Job Mix formula if it is within permissible limits.
4. The approved mix shall exhibit the following details,Source and Location of all materials.
4.1 Binder VG 40 Grade Bulk Bitumen expressed as percentage by weight of total mix.
4.2 Stone aggregate of 26.5 mm guage expressed as a percentage by weight of total mix.
4.3 Crushed bajri of 11.2 mm guage expressed as a percentage by weight of tatal mix.
4.4 Fine aggreage expressed as a percentage by weight of total mix.
4.5 A single definite percentage passing the each siee for the mix aggreage.
4.6 Filler expressed as a percentage by weight of total mix.
4.7 Density of Dense Bituminous Macadam in laboratory should not be less than 2.31 gm/cc
5. The contractor, thereafter, shall be required to complete the supply of various ingradients mentioned above from an approved quarry/sources as per norms & conditions for Dense Bituminous Macadam course (Grading-2) of 50 mm thickness as per proportions stipulated in the approved Job Mix Formula.

Providing and laying bituminous concrete of 30mm compacted thickness in a single course after applying tack coat 0.20 kg per sqm area on dence bituminous macadam surface over the base previously prepared in accrodance with MORT&H specifications (5th revision 2013), after mixing the aggregate and CRMB-55 bitumen in electronic operated Batch type Hot Mix Plant as per approved mix and laying the same with the help of electronic sensor paver as per MORT&H specifications. After spreading of mix as per clause 507.4.7 entire surface during the operation shall be rolled with road roller 8-10 tonne (smooth wheeled) followed with vibratory road roller of 8-10 tonne static weight, folloed by finished rolling with 6 to 8 tonne smooth wheel tendom roller as per clause Nos. 507.4.8 the trough unit rate for this item include the cost of aggregates, bitumen filler fuel for heating bitumen in a boiler premixing of stone aggreate and bitumen in an electronic operated batch type Hot Mix Plant and carriage of premixed materials from batch type Hot Mix Plant to site of work, templates barriers, lighting aggrements & sundries etc. The Bitumenious Concrete for the purpose of payment shall be measured in Cubic Metre. The contract unit rate shall be all as specified in clause 507-9 except that the rate shall include the provision of bitumen @ 5.40 % by weight of total mixure. If bitumen/binder cotent required is more than as specified in BOQ & MORT&H (5th revision) no extra payment will be made. The extra bitumen/binder content will be considered as incidental to work. Before starting the work, the contractor shall propose different percentage of different sizes of coarse and fine aggreates which be intends to mix in order to get required grading. The same will be approved by the Engineer in Charge after the toatal quantity of bitumen for Bituminous concrete. Note:- 1. A part from the confirmity with the grading and quantity requirement of individual ingredients, the mix aggregate i.e. crushed bajri, fine aggreages, filler for bituminous concrete (Grading-2) for 30mm thickness shall meet all requirement set forth in clause 507 of MORT&H specifications (5th revision 2013). 2. The final grading for aggregates required fro Bituminous Concrete confirming to Table 500-17 of MORT&H specification (5th revision 2013) shall be determined by Engineer in Charge after getting Bituminous Concrete designed from either C.R.R.I, New Delhi or Punjab Engineering Collage, Chandigarh or Punjab P.W.D. Laboratory, Patiala or any other reputed laboratory approved by Superintending Engineer Punjab, PWD B&R Branch, after obtaining 60% of the materials for the required grading at plant site. The design mix so finally approved by the Engineer-in-charge shall be terned as approved Job Mix Formula if it is within permissible limits. 3. The approved mix shall exhibit the following details, source and location of all materials. i. Source and Location of all materials. ii. Binder CRmB-55 expressed as percentage by weight of total mix. iii. Crushed bajri of 11.2mm/13.2mm guage expressed as a percentage by weight of total mix. iv. Fine aggregate expressed as a percentage by weight of total mix. v. Filler expressed as a percentage by weight of total mix.
Providing & laying of hot applied thermoplastic compound 2.5mm thick including reflect rising glass beads @ 250gms. per sqm. area, thickness of 2.5mm is exclusive of surface applied glass beads as per IRC:35-215. The finished surface to be level, uniform and free from streaks and holes complete in all respects as per MORT&H specifications 5th Revision 2013.
A) Reconstruction of 6 mtr span slab type culvert i) Earth work in excavation of foundation o structures as per drawing and technical specifiations, including setting out consruction of shoring and bracing removal of stump and other deleterious matter, dressing of sides and bottom and backfilling with complete in all respects as per MORT&H specification 5th revision 2013.
ii) Plain cement concrete 1:3:6 mix with crushed stone aggregate 40 mm nominal size mechanically mixed, placed in foundation and compacted by vibrating including curing for 14 days complete as per MORT&H specification 5th revision 2013.
iii) Brick masonary work in 1:3 in foundation complete excluding pointing and plastering as per drawing and Technical specifications complete as per MORT&H specification 5th revision 2013.
iv) Reinforcement Cement Concrete M-20 in Open foundation complete as per drawing and technical specifications in slab without cost of steel, enforcement but including centering and shuttering laid in position and machine mixed and vibrator complete in all respects as per MORT&H specification 5th revision 2013.
v) Supplying, fitting and placing HYSD Bar rienforcement in sub structure as per drawing and technical specification complete in all respects as per MORT&H specification 5th revision 2013.
vi) Pointing with cement mortar (1:3) on brick work in sub structure as per drawing and technical specification complete in all respects as per MORT&H specification 5th revision 2013.
vii) Providing and fixing in position 20mm thick pre moulded joint filler In expansion joint of fixed ends of simply supported spans not exceeding 10mm to cater for a horizontal movement upto 20mm, covered with sealant complete as per drawing and technical specifications (22.15iii).
viii) Painting two coats after filling the surface with synthetic enamel paint in all shades on new plastered concrete surface complete in all respects as per MORT&H specification 5th revision 2013.
ix) Hazard marker sign board 300x900 mm rectangular as per IRC-67 2012 with retro reflective high intensity microprismatic grade sheeting foxed cover 4mm thick alluminum sheet 25x25x3mm angle iron frame supported on a mild steel angel iron post 65x65x6mm firmly fixed to ground including foundation concrete 1 to 4 of size 0.45x0.45x0.60mm for vertical post completed as per technical class 801 of MORT&H specifications 5th revision 2013.

C) Construction of Diversion i) Construction of embankment with approved material obtained from borrow pits with all lifts and leads, transporting to site, spreading, grading to required slope and compacting to meet requirement of table 300-2 complete in all respects, as per MORT&H specification 5th revision 2013.
ii) Providing and laying RCC pipe NP-3 (1000mm dia) for culverts on first class of granular material complete in all respects.
iii) Providing laying spreading and compacting Granular Sub Base 200mm thick in two layer of ( with thickness of Two layer not exceeding 75mm compacted) of natural sand, crushed gravel,crushed slag or combination thereof depending upon the grading required. Use of material like brick metal, Kankar & crushed concrete shall be permitted in the lower sub base. The material shall be free from organic or other deleterious constituents and shall conform to the gading in Table 400-1 and physical requirements given in Table 400-2 complete in all respect, as per MORT&H specification 5th revision 2013.

D) Approaches. i) Dismantling of dry brick complete in all respects.
ii) Construction of embankment with approved material obtained from borrow pits with all lifts and leads, transporting to site, spreading, grading to required slope and compacting to meet requirement of table 300-2 complete in all respects, as per MORT&H spec. 5th Rev.2013.
iii) Providing laying spreading and compacting Granular Sub Base 200mm thick in two layer of ( with thickness of Two layer not exceeding 75mm compacted) of natural sand, crushed gravel,crushed stone, crushed slag or combination thereof depending upon the grading required. Use of material like brick metal, Kankar & crushed concrete shall be permitted in the lower sub base. The material shall be free from organic or other deleterious constituents and shall conform to the gading in Table 400-1 and physical requirements given in Table 400-2 complete in all respect, as per MORT&H specification 5th revision 2013.
iv) Providing, laying, spreading & compacting 150mm thick ( in two layers 75/75mm clean, crushed,graded aggregate & granular material, premixed with water to dense mass ona prepared sub grade/sub base or existing pavements as the case may be with the requirements of these specification. The material shall be laid in one or more layers as necessary to lines, grades & cross sections shown on the approved drawings or as directed by the engineer. The thickness of single compacted Wet Mix Macadam layer shall not be less then 75mm whan vibrating or other approved types of compacting equipment are used. The compacted depth of a single layer of the sub base course may be upto 200mm with the approval of the engineer. Wet Mix Macadam shall be prepared in an approved mixing plant to suitable capacity having provision for controlled addition of water and forced/positive mixing arrangement like pugmill or pan type mixer of concrete batching plant. The thick in suitable two layers of 75/75mm thick each, with materials conforming to physical requirement laid in Table 400-15 and grading laid in Table 400-14 of M.O.R.T&H specifications.
v) Providing and applying primer coat with bitumen emulsion slow setting on prepared surface of granular base including cleaning of road surface and spraying primer at the rate of 0.75 kg/sqm using mechanical means complete in all respect as per MORT&H specification clause 502 & to the entire satisfaction of Engineer-in-charge, ( 5th revision) 2013.
vi) Providing & applying tack coat with bitumen emulsion [RS] using emulsion pressure distributor at the rate of 0.25kg per sqm on the prepared bituminous surface/granular surface treated with prime coat after cleaning the surface complete as per technical clause 503 of MORT&H specifications complete in all respects as per MORT&H specification & to the entire satisfaction of Engineer-in-charge ( 5th revision) 2013.
vii) Providing and laying of Dense Bituminous macadam (Grading-2) in single layers of 50mm compacted thickness in a single course after tack coat @ 0.25 kg. Per Sqm. Area on paved shoulder protion black top surface over the base previously prepared in accordance with Ministry of Road Transport & Highways specifications (fifth revision 2013) after mixing the aggregate and VG-40 Grade Bulk Bitumen @4.5% by weight of total mix in a Electronic operated batch typpe hot mix plant as per approved mix and laying the same over black top surface with electronic sensor paver in accordance with clause 505 of Ministry of Road Transport & Highways specification (Fifth revision 2013) for Dense Bitumen Macadam. After spreading of the mix as per clause 505.4.8 the entire surface during the operations shall be rolled with road roller of 8-10 toone and then 6-8 tonne smooth wheeled tandem roller (static weight) as per clauses 505.4.9. Through until rate for this item includes the cost of aggregate and bitumen, filler, fuel for heating bitumen in a boiler premixing of stone aggregate and bitumen in a batch type Hot Mix Plant and carriage from batch type hot mix plant to site of work, templates, barriers, lighting arrangements and sundries etc. and the execution of the work shall confirm to clause 505 of Ministry of Road Transport & Highways specifications for Road and Bridge works. The Dense Bitumen Macadam for the purpos of payments shall be measured in Cubic Meter. The contract unit rate shall be as specified in clause 505-9 except that the Rate shall include the provision of Bitumen@405% if bitumen/binder content required is more than as specified in BOQ and MORT&H fifth revision no extra payment will be made. The extra bitumen/binder content will be considered as incidental to work.
viii) Providing & applying tack coat with bitumen RS using emulsion pressure distributor at the rate of 0.20kg per sqm on the prepared bituminous surface/granular surface treated with prime coat after cleaning the surface complete as per technical clause 503 of MORT&H specifications complete in all respects as per MORT&H specification & to the entire satisfaction of Engineer-in-charge ( 5th revision) 2013.
ix) Providing & laying Bituminous Concrete of 30mm compacted thickness in a single course after applying tack coat 0.20 kg per sqm area on dence bituminous macadam surface over the base previously prepared in accordance with MORT&H specifications (5th revision 2013), after mixing the aggregates and CRMB-55 bitumen in electronic operated Hot Mix Plant as per approved mix and laying the same with the help of electronic sensor paver as per MORT&H specifications. After spreading of mix as per clause 507.4.7 entire surface during the operation shall be rolled with road roller 8-10 tonne ( smooth wheeled) followed with vibratory road roller of 8-10 tonne static weight, followed by finished rolling with 6 to 8 tonne smooth wheel tendom roller as per clause Nos. 507.4.8. The through unit rate for this item include the cost of aggregates, bitumen filler fuel for heating bitumen in a biolder premixing of stone aggregate and bitumen in an electronic opreated Hot Mix Plant and carriage of premixed materials from Hot Mix Plant to Site of work, templates barriers, lighting arrangements & sundries etc. The Bitumenious Concrete for the purpose of payment shall be measured in Cubic Metre. The contract unit rate shall be all as specified in clause 507-9 except that the rate shall include the provision of bitumen@ 5.40% by weight of total mixure. If bitumen/binder content required is more than as specified in BOQ & MORT&H ( 5th revision) no extra payment will be made. The extra bitumen/binder content will be considered as incidental to work. Before starting the work, the contractor shall propose different percentage of different sizes of coarse and fine aggregates which be intends to mix in order to get required grading. The same will be approved by the Engineer in charge after the toal quantity of bitumen for bituminous concrete.
Construction of Side drain without cover 30cmx45cm i) Earth work in Excavation of foundation of structures as per drawings and including setting out, construction of shorting and bracking, removal of stumps and other deleterious material & disposal,dressing of sides and bottom and back filling in trenches with approved materials. Complete in all respect as per MORT&H spec.5th Rev.2013.
ii) Providing Plain cement concrete 1:3:6 nominal mix in foundations complete as per drawing and technical specification.
iii) Brick masonary work in cement mortar 1:3 foundation complete excluding pointing and plastering as per drawing and technical specification. Complete in all respect.
iv) Plain cement concrete M-15 in foundation complete as per drawing & technical spec. Complete in all respect.
v) Plastering 12.5 mm with cement mortar (1:3) on brick work in sub structure as per technical spec. Complete in all respect.
RCC M-20 Slab Cover over side drain i) RCC M-20 in slab without cost of steel Reinforcement but including centering and shuttering laid in position complete in all respects as per MORT&H spec. 5th Rev.2013.
ii) Tor steel reinforcement for RCC work not including in complete rate of RCC including bending,bingding and placing in posionn@90kg/cum complete in all respect.
Road Furniture Reinforced cemet concrete M-15 grade kilometre stone of standard design as per IRC:8-1980 fixing in position including painting and printing etc.
Reinforced cement concrete M 15 grade boundary pillars of standard design as per IRC 25-1967, fixed in position including finishing and lettering but excluding painting
