M& L for applying PME (Polymer modified emulsion) for flexible runway pavement of authorised manufacturer for medium consuption @ 0.91 to 1.5 litres per sqm in two coats (1st coat appllied with 60% to 70% and 2nd coat repeated for application with 40% to 30%. After each coat surface to be left clear for 4 to 6 hours) . The mechanical spraying machine must be used for uniform application by skilled and qualified applicator to maintain quality performance of finished surface.PME must have penetraion values of 10-20mm and initial setting time of four to five hours but not more than eight hours post application. Notes Application The work shall be carried out using mechanical spraying machine by skilled, qualified and authorised applicator. Certificate to be submitted and prior approval be obtained. Storage & Handling PME storage and handling temp shall be between to 10 to 50 degree and should be protected from freezing. Water to be used should be portable free from salts and chemincals Cleaning Surface shall be dry, clean, dust & dirty free and durable. Clean surface of the runway with wire/coir brush where the application is to be applied . The dust , mud or loose aggregate to be removed. Preparation of PME Arrangment of mobile storage tank for running over runway with mechanical mixing arrangement with water and equal quantity of PME (1:1) for spraying and stir well piror to application with compressor machine for uniform spray is to be considered all as directed by Engr-in charge Warranty Two years warranty of material performance and applicaton performance to be obtained from the authorized manufacturer of PME.
