Technical Supervision, Monitoring blast vibration levels on regular basis at critical locations for every Control blast at 5 (five) designated locations (fixed) by deploying standalone seismographs with 1 (one) technical person from an expert agency (NIRM- National Institute of Rock Mechanics, Bangalore ). The scope of the Item includes : i. Monitoring the data at each location. ii.Forwarding the monitored vibration event report as pdf on daily basis along with air overpressure values. iii.Ensuring adherence to latest safety norms during the operation of Control blasting. iv. Providing Site specific technical guidance as required during the excavation by control blasting at critical locations for HWPF Project (upto the required depth as per drawing) such as near steam line, RAPS 3-4 Boundary wall etc. expert agency (NIRM- National Institute of Rock Mechanics, Banglore ). Note: The payment will be made to the contractor after completion of excavation of the area upto the required depth as per drawing.
Disposal of surplus excavated materials including crushing of cut pieces/boulders of soft/hard rock, loading, transporting, unloading, Filling and levelling in identified low lying areas within campus iusing mobile crusher, collecting the stone boulders/pieces, crushing the bolders using mobile crushers or any approved machinery, transporting the crushed material by mechanical means within the campus, spreading & filling in layers not exceeding 150mm thick, watering, consolidation using roller to obtain 90% proctor density and levelling including stacking the surplus crushed materials at the designated location as shown etc. complete all as per specification and as directed by Engineer-in-charge. Notes: i) The excavated soft and hard rock materials shall be crushed to a grain size (as decided by users) by an automated/compact electrically operated crusher machine installed at site. ii) Crushing to a grain size shall also include Manufacturing of Fine / Crushed Aggregates of required size and grading confirming to IS: 383/ IS: 2116 from available rock and excavated, making aggregate by using stone crusher and sieves/screens or equivalent machinery/equipment suitable for making Concrete/ mortar of various Grades as per IS: 456 / 2250 including, testing the aggregates, all consumables, labour, tools and tackles,permits, protective measures for air borne pollution like sprinkling water, all lifts, etc complete as directed. iii) Providing, Installation, Operation and maintanace of crusher and other machinery of required capacity with all permits are in the scope of contractor and no extra payment shall be payable for this. iv) The crusher machine shall be dismantled and taken away from the site after the work is completed at contractor's own cost. v) The contractor shall clean the area on which crusher machine is installed and make it to original condition without any extra cost to the department. vi) Making banking for road formation using crushed aggregates
Beyond 150m initial lead & within campus Notes: i) Voids @ 20% for soils/crushed materials and 50% for soft rock/hard rock shall be deducted from fully loaded truck measurements to arrive at the net quantity for payment in case direct measurement is not possible. ii) Royalty for excavation, excavation filing of earthwork etc. including obtaining permission from statutory authority, if any, shall be borne by the contractor.
Labour charges for stacking and laying of 230 mm thick rubble soling stones (using excavated stones) as under floor base including packing with smaller stone and compacting, ramming including spreading and consolidation of blinding material, moorum etc. complete all as per specifications and as directed by the Engineer-in-charge
Providing and laying in position cement concrete of 1:4:8 (1 cement, 4 crushed sand, 8 graded stone aggregate of maximum size 20 / 40 mm) / M-7.5 grade with minimum cement content 170 Kg/m3including consolidation, finishing, curing etc. complete as per specifications and drawings but excluding the cost of Form work shuttering, centering complete at all levels.
Providing , centering ,shuttering Form work using PVC film faced plywood to get a neat form finish surface for all types of structures including necessary strutting, proping, staging, supports etc and deshuttering the same after the specified time all as per drawings, specifications and as directed by the Engineer-in-charge at all levels

Providing Reinforcement Steel for reinforced cement concrete at all levels including supplying, preparation of bar bending schedules, cutting, bending, transporting, fixing, tieing in position with PVC coated G.I binding wire, all labour charges, cost of cover blocks in specified grade of concrete etc. complete as per specifications and drawings. Steel supplied by the contractor Using TMT bars of specified grades of all sizes confirming to IS 1786. TMT bars to be supplied by the contractor from the own plants of SAIL, RINL or TATA make only using virgin materials Note : 1) The contractor shall supply documentary evidence of purchase of steel, Test certificate from approved manufacturers and also testing third party from approved laboratories with out any extra cost. 2)PVC coated binding wire required for the work will have to be supplied by the contractor at their own cost and will not be measured for payment. 3) Cover blocks shall be of same grade of concrete
Providing and laying in position Reinforced Cement Concrete (RCC) of Grade M-25 using 20mm maximum size aggregates and crushed sand of approved quality including admixtures of approved brand and quality (plasticiser or super plasticiser) if required, including weigh batching, mechanical mixing, transporting, placing, vibrating, consolidation, finishing, curing etc. complete but excluding the cost of centering, shuttering and reinforcement complete as per specifications up to Plinth Level.
Extra for PCC/RCC Using Ready Mix Concrete from outside project area including transporting and pumping from approved batching plants. Note : Minimum cement content for item no. 14 is as follows-

Providing Structural steel work using angles, channels, joists and other sections, welded and / or bolted in built up sections for trusses , structural steel floors, frame works, monorails and other structures including supplying, cutting, welding, fabricating, hoisting, fixing in position, applying a priming coat of approved steel primer etc. complete all as per specifications, drawings and as directed by the Engineer in charge . Up to and including 300 mm Joists, 350 mm channels, and below sections using materials of approved manufacturers confirming to IS 2062. Notes for Item no. 20 & 21: 1. The contractor shall supply documentary evidence of purchase of steel, Test certificate from approved manufacturers. 2. Welding weights, connections, bolts and nuts shall not be measured for payment but the cost of which shall be deemed to have been included in the rates. 3. Welding Electrodes manufactured by M/s. Advani Oerlicon / ESAB India & D& H of specified suitable grade only shall be used. 4. Holes to be drilled only by Drilling machines and gas cutting of holes are not permitted. 5. Rate inclusive of all consumables like GAS, welding electrodes and tools and tackles etc.
Providing and laying non pressure NP2 class RCC Hume pipes of approved make, with collars jointed with stiff mixture of cement mortar in the proportion of 1:2, laying to the levels, slopes and as per the drawings and specifications and as directed by the Engineer-in-charge including testing of joints etc. complete.

Providing and fixing 6 mm thick Aluminium sheet covering over expansion joints with iron screws as per design to match the colour / shade of wall treatment including all materials , labour, scaffoldingcomplete as per drawings and specifications.
PART-B: Confirmatory Geotechnical Investigation (I) Field Tests on Rock/ Soil Mobilisation and demobilisation of suitable boring plant and all other allied equipments like Minimum 2 boring rigs or as required number of boring rigs to complete the job in time, survey equipments and all other insitu tests equipments and manpower required to complete the scope of this work.
Setting up of boring rig at each location, only once for each borehole location including moves between borehole position greater than 5 M locating and marking the location on the ground by actual survey, setting up all field test equipments and bringing all personal to the location, making area good for setting up rig etc. complete.
Boring vertically through all kinds of soils, weathered rock and soft rock, boulders, if any met during drilling with suitable and adequate equipment as required for the depth as measured below existing ground level, as per latest relevant IS codes.

(2) The soft or weathered rock underlying hard rock with thickness greater than 0.5 M will be considered as soft or weathered rock. Drilling vertically through bedrock strata (Hard rock), using Nx size diamond bit, using double tube core barrel with suitable core catcher, including collection and logging of cores, placing them in approved wooden core boxes made up of 25mm thick planks with partitions of 12mm thick as per relevant IS codes [IS: 11315 (part-2 )-1987(Reaffirmed 2001) , IS: 11315 (Part-11 )-1985 (Reaffirmed 2001) , IS: 12070-1987 (Reaffirmed 2010), IS: 11315 (Part 1 to 12) -latest versions] with a coat of Anti Termite chemical in a proper sequence, numbering each core, noting the lithology, colour photographs (100X150mm size) of rock cores, locking arrangements, labeling and transporting the boxes to core store/laboratory as directed by EIC etc., all as per specifications for the following depths measured from existing ground level
0 m to 20 m. From G.L
20 m to 40 m. From G.L Note:(1) RQD of 10% and less will be considered as weathered/soft rock. (2) The soft or weathered rock underlying hard rock with thickness greater than 0.5 M will be considered as soft or weathered rock. (3) Core recovery of 20% and less also considered as soft rock at appropriate depth. (4)Bore holes , location, depth as specified in the drawing or as specified by Engineer incharge.
Obtaining 90 mm diameter, 450 mm long undisturbed soil samples (UDS ) from boreholes WITH JARRING LINK in soil, soft and weathered rock and collecting packaging and labeling.
Conducting Standard Penetration Tests (SPT) in soil, soft and weathered rock and collecting, packaging and labelling disturbed soil/rock samples there from all as per IS:2131-1981(reaffirmed in 2002).
Conducting Standard Penetration Tests (SPT) as in Item No. 35 above but with part of the distrubed soil samples of medium stiff to hard cohesive soils to be coated with paraffin wax and sealed immediately on collection to completely retain all moisture within the sample, and part of the sample to be collected, packaged and sealed.
Conducting SPT in rock with RQD greater than 10% and less than 25% all as per specifications, including replacement of SPT shoe by a new SPT shoe for each SPT as per specifications.
Collection of ground water samples for evaluation of ground water level and their variation as per IS:1892-1979(reaffirmed in 2002), IS:6935-1973(reaffirmed in 2012) from each borehole at specified depths (minimum 1 litre) including all provisions of sampling, packing, sealing and labeling as specified and including handling charges etc. all as per specifications.
Conducting cross borehole test comprising of five boreholes, one source and four receiver bore holes (two in X-direction and two in Y-direction) for evaluation of Dynamic modulli ,dynamic Poisson's ratio,shear and compression wave velocity variation with depth . The test shall be conducted as per IS 13372(Part 2):1992(reaffirmed in 2001),ASTM:D4428,ASTM:D7400 at specified location and depth as per drawing including cost of drilling of appropriate size bore hole, providing information , PVC/Aluminum pipe casing, grouting and backfilling complete as per specifications and as directed by Engineer-in-charge.
Backfilling of boreholes with 1:1 cement : bentonite/ mud grout as per specification. Operating of this item is must for satisfactory completion of work.
Conducting Pressure meter test in NX size borehole with electronic probe for pressure up to 200 bar or failure which occures earlier and submitting the test data along with evaluating modulus of elasticity,shear modulus,Poisson's ratio,safe bearing pressure as per IS12955 (Part-2)1990 reaffirmed in 2001.The test has to be conducted in specified boreholes at specified depths as per drawing (One set of test consists of testing at 4 elevations in boreholes)

(II) Laboratory tests on Rock Carrying out petrographic examination of rock sample as per ASTM: C-295 for determination of core recovery, rock quality designation and rock mass rating in each borehole, for each rock stratum and submission of test result as directed by EIC.
Carrying out Unconfined compression strength (UCS) test on soaked& unsoaked samples for determination of Poisson's ratio,modulus of elasticity ,shear modulus as per IS:9221-1979(reaffirmed 2001)along with unconfined compressive strength,safe bearing pressure of rock sample as per IS: 9143-1979(reaffirmed2001)in each borehole (BH-1to 5) at 3.0 m, 6.0 m, 9.0 m, 12.0 m, 15.0 m, 18.0 m, 21.0 m, 24.0 m, 27.0 m, 30.0m and submission of test result as directed by EIC.

Determination of water content,Porosityand density [saturated surface dry &wet condition], specific gravity by conducting Caliper,Buoyancy,Mercury Displacement techniques as per IS: 13030-1991(Reaffirmed 2001) . The test is to be conducted on one or more rock sample representative of each rocky stratum collected from each borehole.
Conducting Water absorption test as per IS: 1124-1974( Reaffirmed 2003) to evaluate water absorption . The test is to be conducted on one or more RS representative of each rocky stratum collected from each/alternate borehole.
Detremination of Safe bearing pressure by conducting Point load strength test of rock sample as per IS:8764 - 1998 (reaffirmed 2008) & IS:10082 - 1981 (reaffirmed 2001) in each borehole (BH-1 to 5) at 3.0m,6.0m,9.0m,12.0m,15.0m,18.0m,21.0m,24.0m,27.0m,30.0m and submission of test result as directed by EIC.
Carrying out Chemical analysis of sub soil samples to evaluate chemical characteristics of soil including pH,Sulphates(SO3&SO4),chloride and nitrate contents,organic matter, chemicals salinity and any other chemicals harmful to the foundation material as per IS: 2720 (Part 23,24,25,26 and 27) in an approved laboratory, complete as per specifications, including submission of test report . The test is to be conducted on one or more DS(disturbed sample ) &UDS(undisturbed sample) collected from each borehole or alternate&staggered boreholes and representative of each soil stratum as directed by the EIC.
(III) Report Preparation and submission of Three (3) hard & soft copies(on DVD) of Draft reports as specified followed by Five (5) hard copies of Final report of Geotechnical Investigations as detailed in specifications along with 6 soft copies of the same on the DVD. NOTES: 1. Final Report to be submitted shall include recommendations for the geotechnical investigation consisting of deliverables as per FORMAT - 2 which will be issued to the successful bidders. 2. Geotech Investigations for Soils and Rock will be carried out to evaluate the different type of test values as per FORMAT - 1 which will be issued to the successful bidders. 3. Drawing for Location and depth of boreholes will be issued to the successful bidders and location of bore holes to be marked by the bidders with the consultation of Engineer In Charge. 4. Onsite tests and laboratory tests samples , levels to be finalised with the consultation of Engineer In Charge.
