Job Order of soil investigation against Provn of DSC Md Accn at AF Stn Utarlai

To evaluate sub grade strength and soil properties through bore holes shall be done on location of building as per sketch and directed. Graphical boring log shall be developed for each bore hole summarizes the result of soil explorates. The Graphical log shall include location, date type of exploration, surface elevation, depth of material, samples identification numbers as shown in figure I (i.e. typical boring log enclosed). Sample shall be collected of the depth of every 1.00 Mtr or soil strata change upto 18.00 Mtr to establish soil profile complete all as specified and directed. (I) Drilling exploratory bore holes of 100/150mm dia in any type of soil upto a minimum depth of 18.00 Mtr and conducting/collection of the following:- (a) Conducting standard penetration test (SPT) at every 1.00 Mtr, 1.50Mtr, 2.00 Mtr, 3.00 Mtr, 4.00 Mtr, 5.00 Mtr 6.00 Mtr and 18.00 Mtr (b) Collection of undisturbed sample (UDS) at every 1.00 Mtr in internal or change of strata whichever is earlier. (c) Conducting following properties/tests:- (i) Soil classification as per IS 1498-1970. (ii) Liquid limit, Plastic Limit and Plastic Index as per IS 2720 (Part- V) (iii) Depth of water tables. (iv) Max. Dry density using heavy compaction as per IS 2720 (Part-II) at 1.5 Mtr depth. (v) In situ soil density as per IS 1720 Part XXIX at 1.5 Mtr depth (vi) Chemical Tests:- (a) Soluble salt content (b) Chloride and sulphate as per IS 2720 (Part XXVII) (c) Calcium carbonate method as per IS 2720 (Part-XXIII) (vii) Supplementary Test:- (a) Free well index as per IS 2720 XL and as per IS 2720 IXL (b) Permeability test of soil as per IS 2720 (Part-36) 1987 and as per IS 2720 part 13 (c) Organic material in soils as per IS 2720 Part XXII 1972 (II) Preparation and submission of the sub soil investigation report including recommendation for foundation whether shallow or deep considering safe bearing capacity/pressure of soil 1.00, 1.50, 2.00, 3.00 & 4.00 Mtr (for settlement and shear criteria) in quadruplicate.
