Replacement of existing penstocks expansion joint bits near 4 anchor points in U-I and U-II of SholayarPH-I

I.DISMANTLING Charges for providing adequate jacks so as to support the Upstream and Downstream pipe lines near Penstock anchor no. 3, 4, 5 of Unit -I and anchor no: 2 of Unit 2 in Sholayar PH 1 and ensure the existing inclined position during dismantling. (Suitable supporting Jacks shall be arranged in Contractor’s Scope)

Charges for providing temporary structure arrangement, Scaffolding arrangements, Chain pulley blocks & Pull lifts so as to facilitate to cut, dismantle, lift and lead the dismantled corroded penstock expansion joint bit from its position near anchor no. 3, 4, 5 of Unit -I and anchor no: 2 of Unit 2 in Sholayar PH 1 and dismantling the same after completion of erection works.

Charges for dismantling upstream & downstream manhole dummies near work spot and Anchor No.8 of unit – I & II so as to evacuate cutting & welding fumes away and re-assemble the same after completion of erection works.

Charges for providing adequate sand bunds either at downstream of butterfly valve or at Power Tunnel so as to arrest the water leak for cutting & welding works and remove the same after completion of erection works.

Charges for dismantling existing corroded Penstock Expansion Joint bit. i. 0.5 mtr towards upper side from the Upper Stiffener. ii. At the reduced end of lower side of downstream pipeline.

Charges for providing temporary dummy plate at the open portion of downstream pipe line so as to prevent entry of wild animals in penstock pipe line. (Dummy plate will be supplied by TANGEDCO).

II.MATERIAL TESTING, PROCUREMENT AND TRANSPORTING Transportation charges for the dismantled expansion joint bit from the work spot to nearest approaching road through inclined hill surface by using temporary Rails / winch or any other arrangements so as to shift the expansion joint bit to Contractor work premises for exact measurement for new fabrication.

Materials testing charges to assess the material composition of the existing expansion joint bit materials and obtain the test certificate and charges for exact measurement of the dismantled expansion joint bits and measurement for open end portions at Upstream and Downstream pipe lines and inclined angle at work spot in presence of TANGEDCO officials.

Charges for procurement of new materials as per the material of composition of existing expansion joint bit and test the material composition for new materials in presence of TANGEDCO Officials.

Charges for transportation of newly fabricated expansion joint bit to nearest approaching road of work spot at Sholayar Power House 1 including leading and lifting.

Charges for shifting of newly fabricated expansion joint bit from nearest approaching road to work spot through inclined hill surface by using temporary Rails / winch or any other arrangements.

Charges for conducting mandatory welding test for entire 360ͦ inner & outer welding lines after completion of welding works at supplier’s site premises.

Charges for transportation of dismantled scrap expansion joint bit to Central Store KPH or Udumalpet EDC Central Store.

III.FABRICATION OF MATERIAL Complete Fabrication charges for the following pieces for newly fabricated expansion joint bit as per approved drawing. i. Upstream pipe bit along with 2 No’s of inner side Guiding Flats and one end with Flange arrangement. ii. Downstream pipe bit one end with Flange arrangement. iii. Metal Stopper Ring iv. Clamping Ring with Flange arrangement. v. Stiffener for Upstream pipe line. vi. Stiffener for Downstream pipe line.

Charges for conducting mandatory welding test for entire 360ͦ inner & outer welding portions after completion of welding works at work spot.

Additional consumables such as 25mm Round Rubber Cord, 25Sq.mm FMP 211 Gland Packing Rope – 39 mtr length and 40 sets of High Tensile Fasteners (Stud - 40 No’s and Nut - 120 No’s)

Charges for sand blasting so as to remove the mill dust and other particles and prepare the surface for applying of painting works.

IV.ASSEMBLING Charges for positioning the newly fabricated expansion joint bit to its original position by using temporary structure arrangement, Chain pulley blocks & Pull lifts. (i.e. after dismantling of temporary dummy plate at downstream pipe line).

Charges for making ‘V’ Groove, surface preparation & complete welding charges for inner & outer longitudinal and circumferential portions with existing Upstream & Downstream pipelines without disturbing its inclined angle by using electric fusion welding and engaging qualified IBR welders.

Charges for pull out the metal stopper ring from swept area and providing rubber cord initially and insert the stopper ring inside and providing 25Sq.mm FMP 211 Gland Packing ropes one by one and tight the Clamping Ring uniformly.

Painting charges along with paint materials for applying of following Primer & Paints. i. Epoxy Polyamide Zinc Phosphate Primer (70 - 75 microns). ii.Epoxy Polyamide MIO (Micaceous Iron Oxide) Undercoat (100–110 microns). iii.Chlorinated Rubber Top coat (100– 110 microns).
