Removing and cleaning the existing joint filling sealant in the expansion/ construction/ dummy joints by running cutting machine with worn/ used blades, cutting the edges of the grooves to a regular straight edge wherever required, preparing the surface for joint filling including disposal of rubbish to the dumping ground within 2km lead and all lifts as per the direction of EIC. Providing and laying in position Polysulphide sealant of approved make conforming to BS-5212-1990 or IS: 11433-1995. in expansion/ construction/ dummy joints including rounding off edges, providing back-up using compressed polyethylene foam backup rod to get the required shape and standard depth for filling sealant, applying 2 coats of approved primer compatible with the brand of Polysulphide and preparing the surface and applying masking tape along the edge of joint to prevent accidental spillage of sealant on top surface and to give neat finish to the sealant and removing the masking tape after application of sealant etc. complete as per direction of Engineer in- Charge & particular specifications. [Note: For purpose of payment, quantity (Length (m) x Width (mm) x Depth(mm)) of Polysulphide sealant only will be measured. The cost shall include all activities like preparation of joint, providing backup rod, primer, sealant etc. For the purpose of payment, the depth of sealant shall be restricted to the standard depth of the joint to be corrected by backup rod] Expansion joints of size 25mm wide and 10 mm deep over 30mm dia closed-cell polyethylene foam back-up rod, as per manufacturers' specifications. Construction joints of size 10mm wide and 10mm deep over 12mm dia closed-cell polyethylene foam back-up rod, as per manufacturers' specifications. Dummy joints of size 10mm wide and 10mm deep over 12mm dia closed-cell polyethylene foam back-up rod, as per manufacturers' specifications.

Repair and rehabilitation of existing rigid pavement in operational area by removing the existing damaged area/potholes by cutting and other suitable methods, cleaning and dressing; providing approved pot hole bonding agent and packing and finishing of pot holes with micro concrete of SikaRep Microcrete-4 or equivalent, all complete as per the directions of the Engineer in charge.
