Part I :- Soil Investigation

Site clearing work for proposed area by clearing the area of deep wild vegetation / jungle/ aforestations etc by completely uprooting and cutting all wild plants, trees etc having girth of upto 150mm, trimming the stem / trunks and any other overhanging branches found obstructive, uprooting all wild grass, wild hedges, thorney bushes, plants. Identifing trees having girth more than 150mm. collecting all cut and cleared vegetation from the area of work and disposing off within 4.0 KM radius. Stacking the serviceable materials, clearing and cleaning all side berms of fallen and washed away wild vegetation/tree leaves/grass/rubbish etc as per condition prevailing at site of work including cost of all labour, tools and plants, sickles, lift and lead charges manual loading/ unloading, passive levelling the ground area all generally as per work specifications for jungle/wild vegetation clearance etc. complete and directed by Engineer In-charge. Note:- (1) Trees/Poles/Fences/Signs/Pipe lines/cables etc. within or adjacent area which are not required to be disturbed shall be properly protected by contractor at his own cost and nothing extra shall be payable. 2. Tree Girth shall be measured at 1.00 m above Ground level.

Mobilisation in hilly area at,Anushakti Nagar, Mumbai for,necessary equipments, men and,materials to the project site including,making access, cutting & filling etc. for,carrying out the geotechnical,investigation and demobilisation of the,same after completion of all the field,works etc. all complete as per,specification, drawings and as directed,by the Engineer in-charge. No extra,payment will be made for subsequent,mobilisation of any accessories &,equipments required during progress of work.

Painting the number on already identified trees ,having girth more than 150mm. The painting size of ,number shall be in square of 150mm X 150mm ,painted in black and numbered in white with thick ,synthetic enamel paint. Note: Any dry scale formation on the skin of tree shall be scratched /removed suitably as no harm to the tree.

Boring vertically through all kinds of,soils, weathered rock and soft rock,,boulders, if any, met during drilling with,suitable and adequate equipment of,diameter 100mm or more as required,for depths as measured below existing,ground level at rig location, including,collection of soil & ground water,samples, representative distrubed and undisturbed samples, rock samples labelling, handling &,transporting it to laboratory for testing including core recovery ratio (CRR) and rock quality designation (RQD) measurement for rock samples as per IS:11315( Part II), etc as per specification and,as directed by the Engineer-in-charge. Note:- when CRR is more than 0.5 or RQD is if more than 25% then only rock will be considered as hard rock.

Drilling vertically through bedrock strata (Hard rock) using Nx size,diamond bit, or impregnated diamond bits etc. depending on type of rock encountered using double tube core,barrel with suitable core catcher,including obtaining collection and logging of cores,,placing them in approved wooden core,boxes coated with a coat of Anti Termite,chemical in a proper sequence,,numbering each core, noting the,lithology and transporting the boxes to,core store including core recovery ratio (CRR) and rock quality designation (RQD) measurement for rock samples as per IS:11315 ( Part II) etc. all as per specifications,for the following depths measured from,existing ground level.,

Bulk Density, dry density and natural moisture content

Liquid Limit, plastic Limit, plasticity index etc. as per IS : 2720 (part V)

Consolidation test giving all relevant,information including but not limited to,pressure versus void ratio curve.,Compression index preconsolidation,pressure, coefficient of secondary,compression, coefficient of consolidation,,coefficient of volume compressibility.

Un confined compressive strength on Undisturbed/ Disturbed soil sample as per IS : 2720 (Part 10)

Conducting direct shear test on Undisturbed/ Disturbed soil sample as per IS : 2720 (Part13)

Laboratory test for deformation modulus,(modulus of elasticity) of rock core,,including stress-strain curves, Poissons,ratio, shear modulus, damping ratio etc.

Chemical analysis of water taken from,bore holes/test pits, at different levels,for parameters such as chloride,,sulphate, calcium, magnesium, sodium,,potassium, pH value, organic &,inorganic solids, suspended matter etc.

Chemical analysis of soil samples taken,from bore holes/test pits, at different ,levels for parameters such as chloride,,sulphate, calcium, magnesium, sodium,,potassium etc.

Determination of water content versus,dry density relationship using light,compaction standard proctor density,test on disturbed samples as per,IS:2720(part VII) so as to assess,suitability of soil for filling.

Report: Preparing and submitting Final report,in the form of five hard copies and ,two soft copies in CD form and two ,soft copies in pen drive,of subsoil investigation and,foundation as detailed in the,specifications including preparation of,soil, profile, bore logs, consolidation,curves etc. along with supporting,calculations. The soil investigation,report shall indicate the interpretation,of the field and laboratory test results,and make recommendations for type of,foundations and safe bearing capacities,for design of retaining structures,at various depths in addition ,to the routine report of the field,work, laboratory work, bore hole log,details, ground water table, levels,,conditions etc. maintaining field books,,and to be submitted at the end of work,to department. (1) The report shall incorporate all the,details stipulated under technical,data/requirement as per item no. 1 to23 of the schedule of quantities. (2 ) Ground water movement direction. (3) Vertical & Horizontal subgrade,reaction.,(4) Detailed Report on suitability of type,of foundation system, depth of foundation , Net allowable bearing pressure on soil at different founding depths giving frictional ,and bearing resistance of pile/anchor,in,case of pile/anchor with supporting,calculations.,(5) Set of longitudinal and transverse,soil/rock profiles connecting various bore holes shall be presented in,order to show variation of sub soil strata (both vertically and ,horizontally ) as per IS:15686.,(6) For Pile foundation, type, diameter,,depth, vertical uplift and lateral load capacities,along with termination criteria shall be,furnished in report along with supporting,calculations. ,(7) Detailed report on recommonded measures/structures/methods required for stabilization of hill slopes with calculations 8) Cross section of all individual bore holes with reduced levels and coordinate showing classification and thickness of individual stratum, position of ground water table, various in-situ and laboratory tests conducted and samples collected at depths and rock stratum, if met with.9) Suitability of excavated earth in backfilling 10) Recomendation for type of cement to be used and any treatment to the underground concrete structure based on chemcal composition of soil and subsoil water 11) Layout plan showing location of all boreholes and field tests, alongwith levels of existing ground at such locations with reference to datum as specified by Engineer-In-Charge, properly drawn to scale and dimensioned with reference of established Grid lines. ,
