Reconditioning of 900 VM-2, 32.30mtr, Jyoti make VT Pump no 4 installed at Tawi Pump House, Jammu.

Reconditioning of 900 VM-2, 60 cusecs; 32.30m head VT pump no 4 by way of extraction/dismantling of VT Pump, shifting damaged components to workshop for reconditioning/repair including loading from Tawi pump house and unloading the same at the workshop with the help of crane and manual labour. Reconditioning to top shaft of VT pump by way of rebuilding of worn-out seat portion of bearing of the Shafts. Rebuilding top shaft by way of extracting worn out sleeve of the shaft and turning shaft to remove unevenness in surface and providing and fitting new shaft sleeve fabricated out of Gun metal /SS material and fitting and locking sleeve at seat portion of bearing. Turning, finishing, and polishing to required size. Checking of eccentricity developed at the different off-sets of the shaft during operation and removing the eccentricity developed by means of press bench. The tolerance limit be kept within the prescribed limit of +0.03 mm. Reconditioning of 01 No. line shaft rubber bearing holder by way of rebuilding of the worn out/damaged inner portion of bearing holder using suitable machinable C.I electrodes. Turning, finishing and polishing the welded portion to the required size of the outer dia. of the line shaft rubber bearing. Fabrication of Line shaft for 900 VM-2, 60 cusecs VT pump out of AISI 410 stainless steel as per sample, 95 mm dia., 3000 mm long. Line shaft shall have provision of keyway all around the shaft 6mm deep, 20mm wide at both ends (top & bottom) at required distance as per sample from top & bottom end to accommodate round keys of muff coupling and also 95 mm long, 6mm deep and 20mm wide keyways for flat keys of muff coupling at the required distance as per sample. The shaft shall be turned, finished and polished to the required final dimensions. Replacement of old damaged Mechanical jack (Mech Type) -04 nos. for holding column pipes by providing and fitting new pressure Jack along with thrust pads-04 nos. (Mechanical Jacks to be fabricated as per sample provided by Deptt.).Reconditioning 01 no. guide spider by way of welding of damaged/worn out seat portion of guide spider with suitable C.I. electrodes and finishing the welded portion as required making the surface even. Extraction of broken/damaged bolts by drilling and rethreading the drilled holes for fitment of counter sunk bolts. P/F of rubber pads with counter sunk bolts in all the three arms of guide spiders. The job further involves back carriage of the repaired assembly parts i.e. shaft enclosing tubes, SS line shaft and Muff coupling etc. to the site of Tawi pump house by way of loading/shifting from workshop and unloading at site of Tawi pump house , Jammu with the help of manual labour. The job involves replacement of thrust pad of other 02 No guide spider- (06 Nos). Re-assembling and lowering of extracted VT pump and column assembly involves complete wiping ,cleaning repaired parts, lowering of complete bowl assembly , column assembly in proper sequence by fitting of column pipes and fitting further, lowering fitting of shaft enclosing tube along with line shaft one by one to discharge head and Tee joint fitting with rising main of 36” dia. P/F of consumables items during lowering of the VT pump like line shaft rubber bearing 7 Nos.( Provided by the Deptt.) bottom rubber bearing 1No., HT column bolts with nuts 120 x20 mm (reputed make) 24 Nos., HT shaft enclosing tube bolts with nut 110x16 mm 16 Nos. HT bolts with nuts 110x25 mm(reputed make) 15Nos., HT bolts 45x16 mm 10 Nos., HT bolts 65mmx16mm – 12 No. , HT Allen key bolts 40x12 mm 12 Nos., HT Allen key bolts 40x16 mm 06 Nos, HT Allen key bolts 40x5 mm 12 Nos, spring washers-16mm 24 nos., spring washers 12mm 24 Nos., fire fly sheet 1/32” 6 kg, fire fly sheet 1/16” 7.5 kg., rubber insertion sheet 1/18” 12 kg, gland packing ¾” 2kg,hacksaw blade double edge 6 Nos., HT bitumen tape roll, emery cloth 6 mtr., Dhoti cloth 3 kg., Grease -10 kg and servo system 46-15 litre for topping of motor (Grease provided by Deptt.) Fitting of pump and motor half coupling, checking alignment of pump and motor using dial gauge, making all the electrical connection, tightening bolts, providing of gasket, electrical thimbles and then testing on full load. Skilled person shall be provided by the firm for extraction /fitting /assembling of parts during lowering of VT pump. Complete job includes cost of transportation, materials and labour charges.
