Preparation of surface for application of water proof coating, prime the surface with water including removal of all existing treatment, bituminous membrane, tarfelt, screed concrete etc. from RCC roof slab, complete all as specified and as directed by Engineer-in-charge. Note: Surface to be free from frost, surface laitance and contamination and free from loose aggregate or other sharp protrusions with fairly smooth finish.
Application of waterproofing Coating: Providing and applying a single component High build fibre Reinforced Acrylic Waterproofing render for roofing system to be applied by brush, at three coats at minimum dry film thickness of 1 mm, which should cure by reaction with atmospheric moisture to give a tough elastomeric waterproof membrane. Note: (i) The above treatment will be carried out by authorised applicator of approved firm/ company. (ii) Please refer PS for details.
The substrate achieved after surface preparation must be primed for sound, dry concrete prime using Primer. The primer shall be allowed to become touch-dry prior to application of Polyurea. Broadcast DRY quartz sand (fire-dried, 0.2 - 0.5 mm particle diameter) evenly onto the wet primer at a suggested rate of 4 m2 per kg (range 2.5 - 10 m2 per kg). Stir both components A & B (ISO & Amine) separately. Pour full container Part B Amine into full container Part A ISO and mix for 3-5 minutes using a slow speed drill and paddle. Mixing ratio is A100 / B6 by weight or A100 / B8 by volume. Normal recommended DFT of Polyurea is 1.5mm. Applications onto vertical surfaces add 1 pack of Polyurea Thickener (400g) to each pack 25kg of Polyurea and mix for 3-5 minutes using a slow speed drill and paddle, then pour Part B Amine into Part A container and mix for further 3-5 minutes using a slow speed drill and paddle. Maximum thickness per coat vertically is 600-650 microns WFT, equivalent to 0.5mm DFT. Overcoat time is ~2 hours at 250° C, 50 minutes at 400° C.
Expansion Joint Treatment:- M&L for opening the existing installed system from expansion joint. Rain water pipeline also need to be treated with polymer modified mortar. The existing surfaces shall be cleaned properly so as to free from dirt, oil grease, etc. Apply mixed Thixotropic epoxy adhesive using a serrated spreader. Remove central masking tape immediately and position non reinforced Hypalon membrane with release tape into the high strength repair mortar adhesive. Roll firmly to displace trapped air and to ensure extrusion of Thixotropic epoxy adhesive through the edge perforations. Apply a second layer of epoxy adhesive to the full width of the top surface of membrane. Remove central release film from membrane. Finally remove outer edge masking tapes and feather edge the epoxy adhesive, put an Aluminium strip 3mm thick and 15mm width at the edge of “L” portion to make the membrane in proper shape and puncture from lapping portion, Protect the membrane with Aluminium strip (1.2mm STD) followed by nailing system, complete all as specified and as directed by Engineer-in-charge.

Providing and laying micro concrete up to the required thickness (avg 60mm) as per the drawing by consultant on the designated area to the prepared slurry tight shuttering with proper shear connector and bonding agent wherever necessary. The fluid for micro-concrete repair material shall be single component, cement based, micro-concrete to which only the site-addition of clean water (and approved graded coarse aggregates where specified) shall be permitted. The micro concrete shall contain no metallic aggregates or chlorides and shall be shrinkage compensated in the plastic state. The micro concrete in the flow able consistency should achieve a compressive strength of 50 N/sqmm after 28 days at 30° C as per BS 4551-80. The unrestrained expansion shall be between 1-4% as per ASTM C827-1987. Again as per BS 4551-80 the flexural strength shall not be less than 5 N/sqmm @ 28 days. The micro concrete shall have a coefficient of thermal expansion of 10 - 12 x 10-6/ °C & Thermal conductivity 1.5 W/m-°C the mixed density of micro concrete shall exceed 2100-2200 Kg/Cum at 21°C. Note: Formwork needs to be ready as per RCC Column/Beam before application of epoxy bonding agent and placing of micro concrete.
Surface Preparation: Concrete surfaces to be treated shall be free from oil residues, demoulding agents, curing compounds, grout holes and protrusions. In case of distressed structures, the concrete surface to be wrapped, shall be structurally repaired prior to treatment. Corrosion induced damages shall be repaired with micro concrete wherever necessary. Structural damages shall be repaired by using epoxy grouting/ appropriate mortar from. All depressions, imperfections etc., shall be repaired by using epoxy putty / mortar complete all as specified and as directed by Engineer-in-charge.
Application of the primer: Priming should be carried out using carbon fibre (CF). After proper mixing of the component the application shall be carried out using a brush and allowed for drying for about 24 hours before application of saturant. The mixed material of carbon fibre saturant is applied over the tack free primer. The wet film thickness shall be maintained @ 250 microns. Carbon Fibre Application: The CF fabric shall be cut to required size and then pressed first by gloved hand on to the saturant applied area and then with a stiff spatula or a surface roller to remove air bubbles, complete all as specified and as directed by Engineer-in-charge.
