The armrest shall be properly jointed, screwed, nailed and securely fixed to the existing sofa frame, including all necessary wooden members, cleats, screws, nails, adhesive, cutting, shaping, planing, sanding, polishing/finishing and making good complete. | 1.06 | Removing carefully the existing unserviceable/damaged seat cushion from the single-seater sofa, including taking down and removing existing cover, ties, fastenings and other accessories as necessary. Supplying and fixing in replacement new seat cushion for single-seater sofa, made from 100 mm thick polyurethane flexible foam, 90% open cell, having minimum density 40 kg/m³ and indentation force deflection (IFD) at 25% deflection of not less than 30 lb, when tested on a 20 in × 20 in × 4 in specimen, or equivalent approved quality, accurately cut, shaped and fitted to the required dimensions and profile. The cushion shall be completely covered with approved quality tapestry cloth costing not less than Rs.350/- per metre, properly cut, stitched, fitted and secured with concealed/approved fastening arrangements, with neat and uniform seams and without wrinkles or sagging. The cushion shall be properly fitted to the existing sofa frame and finished to match the existing furniture, including all materials, labour, cutting, stitching, fitting, fixing, wastage, making good and cleaning complete as specified and directed. | 1.08 | Removing carefully the existing worn-out/damaged cover of seat/back cushion of approximate size 560 mm × 530 mm × 100 mm thick, without causing damage to the cushion or adjoining furniture, including taking down existing stitching, staples, fasteners and other fixing arrangements. Supplying and fixing new cover using approved quality white long cloth costing not less than Rs.80/- per metre and tapestry cloth costing not less than Rs.250/- per metre, as applicable, including accurate measurement, cutting, stitching, piping/edging wherever required, provision of seams and allowances, fitting over the existing cushion, securing by suitable concealed/approved fasteners, staples or other approved means, trimming of excess material and finishing complete. | 1.09 | Complete removal of existing paint/polish/finish from all exposed wooden surfaces of the single-seater sofa, including use of suitable paint remover or caustic soda solution as required, scraping, rubbing and cleaning the surface with turpentine oil or clean water with a small quantity of acetic acid/vinegar, as appropriate, and preparing the surface thoroughly for refinishing. All holes, cracks, dents, indentations, joints and other surface imperfections shall be stopped and filled with approved glazier's putty conforming to IS-419:1967, comprising white lead, fine powdered chalk and boiled linseed oil, or approved ready-made equivalent putty. The surface shall thereafter be thoroughly rubbed down, sanded and prepared smooth, followed by application of two coats of French polish, properly rubbed and finished to obtain a smooth, uniform and high-class glossy finish, matching the existing colour and shade of the furniture. The work shall include all necessary materials, labour, paint remover/cleaning materials, putty, sanding, rubbing, polishing, masking/protection of upholstery and other fittings, preparation of surface, intermediate rubbing, final finishing, cleaning and making good complete, all as specified in drawing no.
