Soil Investigation for building : (a) Drilling of bore holes of 100mm - 150 mm by shelf and auger with MS casing up to a depth possible beyond which diesel operated clay drill bent on it slurry to be used. Depth of bore holes may be taken as min 12m. Disturbed and undisturbed soil samples to be collected during SPT test laboratory investigation to be carried out as per IS-2131 specification. Soil samples shall be collected and handed over to Engr-in-Charge in wooden boxes. Drilling rate upto 12m including submission of report. Locations of bore holes as shown by GE at site. Rate quoted by firm includes all shifting charges of machinery and equipment. No of bore holes - 08 Nos

Note :- Submission of Report with analysis of under mentioned tests and recommendation should be submitted in Six copies :- (i) SPT value at every 0.75m intervals and change of strata. (ii) Grain size distribution and analysis. (iii) Soil characteristics. (iv) Value of cohesion and angle of internal friction. (v) Recommended SBC at different depths of foundation i.e at 1000mm, 1200mm, 1500mm & 1800mm, etc upto 5m depth. (vi) SBC and its calculation based on ‘N’ value shear strength and settlement criteria. (vii) Depth of water table (maximum and minimum). (viii) Depth of expansive soil and its properties, if any. (ix) Recommendation for type of foundation.

(x) Recommendation for filling under floors and filling under protection including plinth protection. (xi) Chemical analysis of soil & water samples. (xii) Details of soil profile and bore logs. (xiii) Any other recommendation. (xiv) Location of bore should be shown alongwith the proposed bldg layout in the report in a site plan duly signed by GE and testing Lab rep. (xv) Testing should be done only at NABL recognized test house/Govt Engineering College as per NBC, IS 1892, 2131, 2132, 1888, 2720, 1904, 6403, 8009, 1498 and SP 36 in general containing. (xvi) Water table level, chemical characteristics of soil eg. Chloride and Sulphate content and expansive characteristics of soil if any should be given in the report. (xvii) The levels of each SPT bores shall be reflected with respect to permanent bench mark levels. (xviii) RLs at the location of all Boreholes shall be indicated in the site plan bldg layout. (xix) Slope stability analysis and recommendation also shall be suitably obtained from the soil testing consultant, when a deep cutting is involved at the site.
