Drilling exploratory bore holes of Nx Size in all types of strata including SPT. (Soft, medium & hard strata) by triple tube barrel (04 Nos Bore holes at 02 End of Runway and 01 No Bore hole at 20 End of Runway with depth of each hole =30m). The UDS and DS in each borehole may be collected at regular interval of 1.5 meter or change of strata whichever occurs earlier. After refusal through SPT is encountered the drilling in hard stratum must be done along with recording of rock core recovery (C.R.) percentage and Rock Quality Designation (RQD).
Laboratory test from NABL accredited lab for collected UDS/DS sample which include bulk and dry density, specific gravity, natural moisture content, grain size analysis and hydrometer analysis, liquid limit and plastic limit, permeability test, classification of soils for engineering purpose, tri-axial shear tests, direct shear tests, consolidation test. All these tests to be conducted for UDS and DS sample collected at 1.5 m interval or change of strata whichever is earlier for each borehole as per the IS code guidelines.
Field permeability test at each bore holes
Footing load test (concrete boulder test) as per iS:10042 to be conducted on footing size 1500x1500x450mm above pit level. The pit size is 4000mm x 4000mm x4000mm
In situ density test at trial pits (size 1 m x1 mx0.5m) in the pits excavated for FLT as per IS 10042-1985
Contour map of 1:500 @ 1m interval or 1:1000 with 2m interval at the approach funnel area Runway 02 (Southern side) area approx, 250m x 150m and 1280m x 325m (ch 920 m to Ch2200m of Runway x(200m)(Western side from Runway) +125m Eastern side from Runway Centre line.
Test for fill material: Max dry Density (MDD), Optimum moisture content (OMC) and shear strength parameters (c and Φ) at dry, OMC and completely saturated condition of the Fill material.
