Material-Neoprene Rubber. (C) Bollards and fair leads:- The pontoon will have minimum 08 bollards and 08 fair leads. Further, bollards are to be adequately dimensioned for the estimated towing pull considering the displacement. The thickness of the deck plating under the Bollard and other fittings need to be satisfying the class regulations. (D) Sacrificial Anodes:- Sacrificial Anodes as approved by classification society with appropriate size will be fabricated and provisioned on the Hull by the Yard. (E) Load testing:- Load Testing of all fixtures is to be performed in accordance with a recognized standard and the procedures, together with acceptance by class. Load test certificates and maintenance schedule for the steel pontoons and associated fittings required to be submitted by contractor for future reference. (ii) The structural arrangement framing system, floor, web, stiffeners etc of pontoon and scantling details to be duly approved by class. (iii) The weld strength/deposition of joints in the area of bollards and fititings would be adequate for safe usage of these fittings during various operations. The designed deck area is to be clear, uncluttered and well- laid out for ease of operations and movement. (iv) The hull structure of the pontoons should be designed to withstand the impact of the ship during the berthing alongside. The strenth of the structure and deck should be sufficient for the loads generated due to average initial impact load during berthing of the ship and also for the loads/stresses generated while rolling of the ship's hull due to wind/waves.
(v) The fendering of the pontoon should be based on rubber fenders. The berthing pontoon should be provided with suitable number of rubber fenders. Functionally, fenders should abosrb the berthing energy or impact of vessels and transmit a designed or calculated force to the structure, which shall not exceed the allowable hull stress of IBS. (J) Stability requirements:- (i) Stability standard of pontoon should be based upon the stability standard of classification society, a member of IACS/GMB (ii) International code of intact stability and inclining experiment should be based upon latest IMO resolution/Class Regulations (iii) Pontoon should be highly stable for breasting of jetty for berthing of multiple IBs (03-IBs) (iv) Should be highly stable for embarking/ disembarking of 75 persons from vessels on/off pontoons.
