Amount

Exploratory drilling 150mm dia of boreholes in dry area up to a maximum depth of 10.00m or up to refusal. Whichever met earlier, by percussion mthod in all type of overburden soil excluding rock, with skilled labours, technical manpower, tools & plants, equipment, machineries, lead & lift installation of casing pipe andall other items necessary for drilling as required. Refusal shall be defined when 'N' value reached 100 for penetration of 300mm. Collection of Undisturbed soil samples from all boreholes at intervals of 3.00 m in depth and every change of strata from borehole. Conducting Standard Penetration test (S.P.T) as per relevant IS specification in the boreholes at an interval of 1.50 m in depth and at every change of strata from borehole. Preparation and submission of Report (one Draft copy and two originals) giving recommendations for type of foundation,analysis of bore logs & tests results anong with SBC values and calculations in approved format for the alignment including stations. Carrying out necessary tests as per relevant IS codes on all collected samples which include the determination of :- (i) Natural Moisture contents as per IS (ii) Specific gravity test (fine grained soil) as per IS (iii) Specific gravity test (coarse grained soil) as per IS (iv) Grain Size Analysis as per IS (v) Hydrometer Analysis as per IS (vi) Liquid Limit as per IS (vii) Plastic limit as per IS (viii) Shrinkage limit as per IS (ix) Unconfined Compressive Test as per IS (x) Tri-axial compression Test (UU) as per IS (xi) Direct Shear Test as per IS (xii) Consolidation Test as per IS (xiii) Free swell Index as per IS (xiv) Conducting chemical analysis of ground water sample (xv) Conducting chemicla analysis of soil samples (xvi) Measurement of ground water level after completion of each boreholes and collection of water samples from each borehole minimum 1 ltr each

Note:- (i) Rate includeds all items of works necessary for carrying out complete soil exploration work, collection of sample, testing at NABL. Accredited Labs and field Test results and submission of four sets report. Rate includes for submission of detailed recommendation for shallow foundation and bearing capacity of soil (SBC) at every 0.5 m depth type of foundation and depth of footing be clearfy specified and its calculation. (ii) In case very week soil stata is encountered, recommendation about pile foundation i.e.type, dia, depth of pile, safe load carrying capacity and socketing of pile into hard rock shall be clearfy given in the report also measures ground improvement if required be included in the report safe bearing capacity shall be worked out based on N value shear failure and settlement criteria. (iii) Rate includeds for obilisation of mechanical drilling equipment/rig and shifting of entire arrangement as required/directed by Engr-in-charge. Rates includeds Shifting of equipments from one bore to another hole location and setting of boring/drilling rig as required/directed by Engr-in-charge.
