Repair/ Maintenance by replacement of Sluice gates seals

Scope of Work

Dismantling, replacement of rubber seals by providing, fixing and testing of natural rubber seals at Bottom and Sides of 04Nos. vertical lift fixed wheel Under Sluice Gates size 6mx2.5m along with repair of Embedded Stainless Steel Plate sill beams at Weir Site Kafnoo along with testing and commissioning. • Dismantling of existing damaged rubber seals by means of opening nuts & bolts using welding, cutting, grinding etc. • Cleaning & Clearing of gate grooves and travel way of gate. The entire gate slot should be checked and clean thoroughly. Making surface complete by grinding. • Providing & Fixing of musical note type rubber seal for side seals Music Note Single Solid Bulb Seal/Teflon cladded:Thickness:14mm, Total Width J:100mm, OD:44mm & Flat Wedge type rubber seal for bottom seal Thickness :14mm, Width:75mm, Conforming to IS: 11855. • Rubber seals should be ground to keep it in an alignment. The Joints of rubber seals shall be treated at site by araldite or any suitable adhesive material • Usual initial interference of 3mm should be provided on musical note seals and 5mm projection should be given at the bottom seal for efficient sealing • Re-assembling by replacing all damaged nuts,Bolts, screws, counter-sunk screws, etc. should be replaced and shall have threads as per original specifications & material so as to avoid excessive play. • All nuts and bolts used to fix the seal to the gate leaf should be tightened uniformly to a torque specified. The screws shall then be locked by punching at four places. • Alignment of seals have to be done minutely by means of feeler gauge. Seals may be grinded if required, to bring it in one alignment. Corner joints should be checked for any leakage. • Gate Wheel bearings, guide wheel bushes should be cleaned & lubricated and ensured for its rotation. Recommended and approved oil and grease should only be used. • Repair of embedded parts seal seats, track path, guide path, liners etc. Appropriate repair of sill beam should be carried out wherever excessive pitting and other surface damages are noticed by making eroded surface by grinding/machining and then building up of eroded material to its normal/original profile through weld deposition, grinding/machining/polishing of existing sill beam and, shall be checked for cracks and other defects. • Final testing & commissioning of above system complete in all respect. • All other extra consumable material required for the job if any, same will be in the scope of the contractor without any extra cost. • Transportation / Carriage of all parts shall be in scope of contractor/firm. • The Contractor shall provide all therequired equipment, services, accessories & material required for the completion of the job as per site requirement whether explicitly mentioned in these specifications or not to fulfil the intent of the specification and to ensure the completeness, operationand maintainability of the system at no extra cost to the Employer. • Contractor will be responsible for any fatal/non-fatal accident during the work. • Completion of job in all respect as per directions of Engineer In-Charge.
