Mech services for Dismantling of Tank
DISMANTLING OF FLOATING/FIXED ROOF TANK Retrieving all existing fittings, instruments, foam seals, side railings, dismantling of damaged corroded shell / roof of welded oil storage tank by gas cuttings/cold cutting or any other suitable means as directed by engineer in charge and transporting them to storage point/ scrapyard as designated without disturbing / damaging any portion of existing piping, equipment, tank and complete in all respect with all labour, tools, machineries, supervision etc. Requirement of heavy equipment to be envisaged by Engineer-in-Charge and to be arranged separately, if required, as the same in not included in the item rate. Requirement of scaffolding to be envisaged and decided by Engineer-in-Charge as per site requirement and scaffolding item to be paid separately.
Bottom: Dismantling of bottom (Annular) plates completely: Dismantling of bottom (Annular) plates, job involves cutting of bottom plateand shell to bottom plate welding, jacking of shell. And also cutting of annular to sketch plate cutting. Dismantling of bottom (sketch) plate: Dismantling of bottom (sketch) plates by gas cutting and roof to be properly supported and handing over to civil maintenance for tank bottom foundation repair. Shifting of roof support as and when required to facilitate repair/ relaying of foundation. Note: The measurement of dismantling, shall be calculated based on actual area laid of complete bottom sketch plate minus 10% corrosion correction.
Roof : Dismantling of complete roof/ structural/ shell/ course/ truss: Retrieving all the existing fittings, instrumentations, side rails, etc. by gas cutting/ cold cuttings directed by Inspection/ site engineer. And shifting of dismantled roof plates, structural etc. to ground (only scrap) to transport and kept properly the same in scrap yard after taking/ recording weight. During the entire job all safety norms to be followed in any case. Note: The measurement of dismantling, shall be calculated based on actual area laid of complete roof plate minus 10% corrosion correction.
Shell: Dismantling of shell course retrieving/ removing of shell plates. Retrieving all existing manholes/ nozzles/ fittings, instrumentation, side rail etc. by gas cutting/ cold cutting as directed by EIC. Shifting of all scrap to scrap yard/ designated location as per EIC after taking and recording weight. During the entire shifting job, all safety norms to be followed. Note: The measurement of dismantling, shall be calculated based on actual area of shell plate replaced minus 10% correction corrosion.
DISMANTLING OF CARBON STEEL/ALLOY STEEL PIPING BY HOT WORK (INSULATED / UNINSULATED) Dismantling and removal of above ground, overhead or under ground (upto height depth of 5m) redundant/ steam traced / insulated/ uninsulated piping of carbon steel / alloy steel by gas cutting or by grinding from various locations such as pipe racks, columns, pump house, vessels, heaters, heat exchangers, desalter etc. including removal of insulation material, all on line instruments, fittings, flanges, valves, vents, drains, branching etc.; lowering down the same to ground level with due care so that no other piping, equipment, machinery etc. is damaged; cutting into pieces if required; segregating for salvaging useful fittings such as bends, flanges, valves, instruments etc. by unbolting, gas cutting, cold cutting etc.; transporting and stacking the salvageable useful materials to workshop / instrument workshop/ store or as per the direction of the Engineer-in-Charge and shifting the scrap pipes etc. to scrap yard or any other location within refinery premises and completing the job as per the instructions of Engineer-in-Charge. Scope also includes supplying of all types of tools and tackles, lifting arrangements, equipment, machineries, all consumables and labour etc. to complete the work in all respects including area preparation, taking clearance for hot jobs, blinding and de-blinding, area cleaning after completion of work, arrangement for flushing wherever required as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge. NOTE : 1. Proper safety arrangements for carrying out the job is under contractor's scope and the same has to be complied with as per the d irections of the Engineer- in-Charge. 2. Salvaging of useful fitting from redundant pipe, if done, will be paid under separate item. 3. Civil works (excavation and back filling) for underground dismantling shall be paid separately. Note: For job execution beyond 5 Mtr. elevation above or below ground level, rates are to be escalated by 10% for every 5 meters. CARBON STEEL PIPING JOINTS FOR NON-HYDROCARBON SERVICE (WITH WELDING ELECTRODE E-6013) Transportation of all piping items from owner's storage points to work site and / or pre-fabrication yard and to site after pre-fabrication; cutting, grinding, edge preparation of pipes and fittings, like flanges, elbows, tees, reducers etc. to match the mating edges of different thickness; fit-up, bending, welding using approved welding electrodes as per owners quality requirements etc. as per codes/specifications, drawing etc., threading, laying, erection and alignment of pipes upto a height of 5 meters on sleepers, pipe racks etc. or upto 5 meters depth in trenches, anchoring wherever required, connecting with equipment, nozzles, steam traps, strainers, orifice assemblies (including tapping upto first block valve), spray nozzles, rotameters; tapping for instrument connections like pressure gauges, thermowells, sample connections, vents, drains etc. including fixing of all types of SW valves, gaskets, nuts and bolts, all inline instruments, elbows, tees, flanges, reducers, full coupling or half coupling, reinforcement pads, earthing strip wherever required; welding prefabricated shoes and supports (including alignment) as per the drawings including preparation of small bore isometrics upto 1.5 inch NB, specifications, codes etc. and as per the instructions of the Engineer-in-Charge to his entire satisfaction. The scope also includes supplying of all types of tools and tackles, lifting arrangements, equipment, machineries, all consumables and labour etc. to complete the work in all respects including area preparation for hot jobs, area cleaning after completion of work, flushing wherever required, cleaning of pipes externally off all foreign materials like weld beads, clamps fixtures etc. used in fabrication as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge. NOTE : 1. Proper safety arrangements for carrying out the job is under contractor's scope and the same has to be complied with as per the d irections of the Engineer- in-Charge. 2. For job execution beyond 5 Mtr. elevation above or below ground level, rates are to be escalated by 10% for every 5 meters. 3. HYDROTESTING OF GATE/GLOBE/ CHECK/ BUTTERFLY/ PLUG VALVES Job involves collection of valves from stores, go-down etc. transportation to testing bay or contractors' own premises, test the val ves for seat, body and backseat at recommended pressure including cleaning and greasing, transport back as per instruction and satisfaction of the Engineer-in-Charge. Requirement of heavy equipment to be envisaged by Engineer in Charge and to be arranged separately, if required, as the same in not included in the item rate.
HYDROTESING OF PIPING WORKS Hydrostatic testing of pipelines at the specified pressure including blinding/deblinding, fabrication and fixing of testing connections, pressure gauge installation. Hose pipe connection and making all other arrangements as required and dewatering, flushing and boxing up after fixing proper gaskets with supply of all labour, tools andtackles, instruments and instruction of the Engineer-in-Charge. The job has to be carried out at all elevations. In case of Hydrotest Failure, Re-testings shall be carried out at no extra cost. Requirement of scaffolding to be envisaged and decided by Engineer in Charge as per site requirement and scaffolding item to be paid separately.
INSTALLATION OF FLANGED / RTJ VALVES/ LEVEL TROLL/ FIRE HYDRANT/ MONITORS/ SAFETY VALVES ETC. Transportation of all types of flanged / RTJ valves, level troll, fire hydrant, monitor, gaskets, nut bolts etc. either from owner's storage point to workshop and/ or worksite. Installation at ground level i.e. up to a height of 5 meters on sleepers, pipe racks etc. or up to 5 meters depth in trenches including assembly of valve accessories, cleaning of flanged faces, lapping of RTJ rings, providing new gasket (IOCL supplied) or cutting of new gaskets to proper size if required, placing the gaskets / RTJ ring properly, installation in position with correct direction, tightening of studs, providing earthing protection by way of fixing strips, complete the job in all respect as per drawings and direction of the Engineer-in-Charge, including all labour, tools, tackles, consumables and supervision etc. and tightening of the gland to ensure zero leak including hot bolting wherever applicable. For job execution beyond 5 Mtr. elevation above or below ground level, rates are to be escalated by 10% for every 5 meters. MECHANICAL WORKS FOR NEW FLOATING ROOF/ CONE ROOF STORAGE TANKS Transportation of all materials from owner's storage location to worksite, rolling, fabrication, erection and welding of all steel plates for bottom, shell, floating roof, wind girders of all tanks and providing all manholes, nozzles etc. fittings and fixing of all appurtenances, instruments, accessories, sealing devices, safety devices etc. carrying out all structural work and all other work required for the roof structures, pipe supports, stairways, hand rails, landing platforms, rolling ladder and other components of the tanks, earthing of tank parts and overall earthing of tanks as per approved scheme, installation of side entry tank mixers, providing still pipes for anti rotational device, radar type level gauges, temperature measurement and support brackets and structural support for level indicator, providing supports brackets for foam pourer, providing deflector plates at secondary wind girder level for the cooling water, providing nozzles for level alarms including supply of materials, tools and tackles, labour etc. Supplying and providing 200mm diameter roof drains with SS304 inner layer carcass and outer layer of polyamide/Nylon, resistant to sour crude operations, having repetitive lay pattern without any external support etc. including supply of all materials (other than owner supplied materials) appurtenances, accessories, labour etc. required for the work complete in all respect for oil storage tanks in accordance with the tender specification / drawings / stipulations and as per the instructions of the Engineer-in-Charge. STEEL SCAFFLODING (MATERIALS IN CONTRACTOR'S SCOPE) The job includes supply of all scaffolding materials, transportation to work site, erection of scaffolding at site as per ISMS (IndianOil Safety Management System) Standard-1007 on Scaffold Safety with safest and reliable design. Scaffolding design should consider the worst load combination expected during its service period. The supporting structure should be sufficient in strength, stability, and rigidity; The safety of personnel associated with the erection, alteration, and dismantling of the scaffold; the safety of persons using the scaffold; and the safety of persons in the vicinity of the scaffold to be considered mandatorily. Standard Tags for "Fit for Use" in Green Color and "Not Fit for Use" in Red Color to be fitted on scaffolding as per ISMS Standard-1007. Note: 1. For measurement in SQM: 2 (length + width) X height area covered by the scaffolding is to be taken. 2. Scaffolding measurement to be done by breaking the height into parts as per height slab mentioned below and adopting respective rates against mentioned height slabs.

PNEUMATIC TEST OF TANK BOTTOM / ROOF The job includes vacuum / pneumatic testing of the tank bottom / roof surface to identify leaks including all connected jobs of blinding, de-blinding etc. and all tools, tackles, consumable, labour, supervision and supply of Air Compressor and complete the job in all respect as per the direction of the Engineer-in-Charge.
PNEUMATIC TEST OF TANK BOTTOM / ROOF
HEAT TREATMENT Heat treatment of shop fabricated for already installed piping / static equipment etc. for joints or other operations wherever required. Heating to be carried out in a furnace or by using an electric resistance or induction heating equipment ensuring uniform temperature attainment at all points of the portion being heat-treated. The portion under heat treatment shall be wrapped suitably under insulation to avoid any harmful temperature gradient. The temperature thus attainted in the portion under heat treatment shall be recorded by means of thermocouples, pyrometer and an automatic temperature recorders suitably calibrated should be employed. The calibration chart of each recorder along with hardness test results shall be submitted to the Engineer-in-Charge for approval. The details of heat treatment such as heating rate, soaking temperature pause period and cooling rate etc. to be carried out as per relevant standards / code as instructed by the Engineer-in-Charge.

CALIBRATION OF TANKS Calibration of the tank as per IS-2007 and IS-2008, preparing the calibration sheets on standard forms showing strapping details, ca lculation details and other relevant details including bottom calibration after taking measurement of dead wood etc. and certified by CPWD or Weights and Measures Department or any other equivalent government authority with all labour, tools & tackles, consu mables, instruments (duly calibrated) and delivery of calibration charts to the Engineer-in-Charge. Surface cleaning to Sa 2-1/2 Swedish Specification by Grit/shot blasting (extra over St-2 / St-3 cleaning) by using abrasive materials of size range 16 to 30 (~0.6 to 1.2 mm) mesh like copper grit / shot etc as per relevant standard and direction of Engineer-in-Charge on steel surfaces like storage tanks, columns, vessels, exchangers, chimneys, steel structures and other flat surfaces including pipelines of 350 NB and above diameters in position at all heights including all materials, equipments, tools and plants, consumables, labour etc complete in all respect as directed by Engineer-in-charge but excluding cost of scaffolding. Compressed Air shall be in the scope of contractor (Contractor will have to make his own arrangement for compressor etc. for arranging required air for blasting).
Applying priming coat with ready mixed primer of approved brand and manufacturer at all heights over steel surfaces like structures, columns, pipes, vessels, tanks etc. as per manufacturers specifications and directions of the Engineering-in- Charge; all complete including cleaning the surface using emery papers/ Power tool cleaning such as ST-2 or ST-3 as per requirement, including all material, consumables, tools, tackles, labour etc but excluding Scaffolding. Note- No. of coats mentioned in the SOR items are only indicative and contractor has to achieve rquired DFT by applying more coats (if required) within the relevant SOR item rates.
Inorganic Zinc Silicate primer to achive a minimum DFT of 65-75 microns (one or more coat of 65-75 micron each).
Self priming HB coating primer to achive a minimum DFT of 100- 125 microns (1 or more coat of 100-125 micron)
HB Zinc phosphate coating primer to achive a minimum DFT of 30-35 microns (1 or more coat of 30-35 micron )
HB epoxy finish to achive a minimum DFT of 150-200 microns (Two or more coats of 75 - 100 micron each).
Aliphatic Acrylic Polyester Polyurethane to achive a minimum DFT of 50-75 microns (One or more coats of 50 -75 micron each).
Amine cured solvent free high build epoxy liner to achive a minimum DFT of 400-500 microns (Two or more coats of 200-250 micron each).
