Collection of undisturbed soil sample using required man & machinery at the interval of each 3 m or at any changing strata using 100 mm bore thin walled tube including waxing and sealing the soil in packet and transported to lab for testing, as per the direction of Engineer In Charge.
Carrying out Standard Penetration Test (SPT) at each bore holes , at 1 m intervals as per IS : 2131 -1981 using standard split spoon sampler by means of standard hammer complete as per the direction of Engineer In Charge.
Conducting necessary tests on all collected samples which includes the determination of :- (a) Atterberg Limits. (b) Natural Moisture content(c) Wet & dry Density(d) Soil/ Particle size using sieve analysis & Hydrometer analysis(e) Tri-axial shear tests C & Q determination(f) Shrinkage limits (g) Consolidation Test(h) Specific gravity test for sand/rock (j) Crushing strength of rock samples(k) Permeability Test (l) Testing of water sample(92 samples) (including PH value). (m)Free swell index and swelling pressure in r/o black cotton soil and its depth/layers. (n) Soluble salt content (Chloride & sulphate)
Excavation of trial pit upto 3.0 metre depth having size of 1.2mx1.20m for collecting 03 Nos UDS sample including tests. (a) Atterberg Limits. (b) Natural Moisture content(c) Wet & dry Density(d) Soil/ Particle size using sieve analysis & Hydrometer analysis(e) Tri-axial shear tests or direct shear determination (f) Specific gravity test (g) Free soil index Notes:-1. Rates includes for compilation and analysis of laboratory and field test results and submission of reports in four sets. 2. Rates includes for submission of detailed recommendation for bearing capacity of soil (SBC) at 1.5/2.0/2.5m depth, type of foundation, requirement of pile foundation if any and measures for ground improvement if required. 3. Safe bearing capacity on the basis SPT, shear strength and settlement criteria shall be included in the report. SBC for the footing sizes 1.5x1.5m, 1.5x2.5m, 2.0x2.5m and 2.0x3.0m. 4. Photographic record of geo-exploration as well as testing shall also from part of the report. 5. Recommendation as regards possibility of liquefaction of soil in case of saturated or partially saturated loose/uincompacted sandy soils. 6. RL of the ground level and founding level with ref to a BM should invariably be mentioned in the soil investigation report. 7. Recommended SBC for all the bore holes and filling under floor. 8. Depth of ground water Table (GWT) in peak monsoon (lowest) and peak summer(highest) after correlation of result with seasonal variation of water table in the station.
