Note for all items of this BOQ :-
SITE FOR EXECUTION OF WORK :- Tenderer shall note that entire work shall be executed at Runway / taxi track/ Tarmac & around of airfield area.
Due to continuous Flying commitment at Sulur Station, site for execution of work will be available only on Saturday, Sunday, Holiday and non flying days as decided by the ATS authorities.
The tenderer has to arrange his working programme accordingly.
The tenderer has to liaise with the ATS authorities two days prior of his planned works and schedule accordingly.
No claim on account of not giving the entire site after award of work or giving the site in piecemeal manner will not be entertained by the department at any stage.
The tenderer shall adhere to time frame as per the user’s requirement and as per demand. The demand and the location of work will be intimated either by the rep of user/ MES rep well in advance. In case of failure to attend the demand in time penalty will be levied for each day @ Rs 500/ for non-completing the requirement till completion of work. The nature of the work related to Airfield maintenance, hence the delay is not acceptable.
The unit rate deemed to be considered for First Aid and necessary safety arrangements equipment’s to be provided by the tenderer for workman.
The quoted rates shall be deemed to be inclusive of above mentioned aspects.
M & L Preparing of old black top surfaces by brushing with wire brushes for removing caked mud etc, sweeping with brooms and finally fanning the cleaned surfaces using air blowers to remove all loose dirt etc complete and applying one coat of cold Polymer Modified bitumen Emulsion (PME) Rejuvenator by spraying with mineral filler as recommended by manufacturer of PME (after diluting with water), each coat diluted in the ratio 1:1 (PME : Water) and ensure uniform finish of PME on Main Runway end, PTT & Links bitumen surface. PME shall be applied using mechanically operated pump with compressor and nozzle arrangement at uniform pressure and rate, all as per manufacturer instruction and all as specified and as directed by Engineer-in-charge.
Note :- The tenderer shall take into consideration for following points while quoting rate for the above item:-
(a) Due care shall be taken for friction parameters during application of PME as per ICAO standard and friction test shall be carried out on newly PME applied surface by skid resistance test (SRT) using british pendulum SRT device.
(b) It will be the responsibility of the tenderer to arrange british pendulum SRT device and carry out necessary testing as directed without any extra cost to Govt
(c) Material shall be procured from the authorised manufacturer only.
(d) The work shall be carried out through authorized and qualified applicators of the manufacturer only in presence of departmental and user representative.
(e) Two year warranty of material performance and application performance shall be obtained by the tenderer from the authorized manufacturer of PME and the same shall be submitted to GE on completion of work as specified. Warranty includes the fact that the structure will remain water tight and no further cracks will be formed, excluding damage caused by natural calamities. Permeability test (ASTM D 2434) to be conducted on the surface prior and after to application of treatment.
(f) A sum of 2% of the quoted amount shall be retained out of the final bill amount as security deposit and the same shall be released to the contractor after satisfactory expiry of two years performance guarantee period. A performance guarantee certificate for two years shall be submitted by the tenderer to GE on completion of work as specified.
(g) Care shall be taken to fill gaps/cracks up-to 3mm size with mineral filler as per manufacturer's instructions.
(h) Mineral filler (fibrous cum quartz powder) shall be added as per manufacturers instruction.
(j) Electric supply shall be arranged by the tenderer at its own arrangements and rate is deemed to be inclusive.
(k) The tenderer shall adhere to time frame as per the user's requirement and as per demand. The demand and the location of work will be intimated to the tenderer either by rep of User/ MES rep well in advance. In case of failure to attend the demand in time, penalty will be levied for each day @ Rs. 1000/-per day for non completing the requirement till completion of work. This penalty is exclusively other than condition 56 of IAFW-2249 and shall be treated as interim condition of the contract.
(l) The decision of the Accepting Officer in this regard shall be final and binding.
(m) The nature of work is related to Flight safety. Hence no delay is acceptable.
(n) minus price adjustment shall be applicable if quantity of PME using less than specified and the rate shall be worked out based on paid voucher and market enquiry.
(o) Plus price adjustment shall be not applicable if quantity of PME Applied more than specified as per surface conditon is required.
M & L removing leaves, grass, bushes, soil, plastic bags or any other waste material debries from drain and surrounding area of Air Field of any size in width and depth and removing the debris to a distance exceeding 5 Km outside MD land periphery of the airfield including removing and refixing cover slab after carried necessary repair work in CM 1:3 complete all as specified and as directed
M&L for Demolition of cement concrete (unreinforced) of any description and in any position complete all as specified and as directed.
M & L for Laying Dry lean Concrete (DLC) 100mm thick of aggregate gradation as per Table 1 of SP 49:2014 having 7 day average compressive strength not less than 7 Mpa. Minimum cement content not less than 140 Kg/Cum DLC mixed in Batching Plant, transported to site and laid by electronic sensor paver including spreading and compacting using high amplitude tamping bars of paver (initial compaction) further by double drum smooth wheeled vibratory rollers with 80-100 KN static weight to achieve minimum dry density not less than 98% of maximum Dry Density, necessary finishing etc complete all as specified and tolerances to be as per Table 900-1 of MoRTH specifications for Road and Bridge work 2013.
Note:- No price adjustment shall be applicable if excess quantity of cement than the minimum is used/ approved based on mix design in the execution of work under this item.
M & L Pavement Quality Cement Concrete (PQC) of minimum 28 days field Flexural strength of 45Kg /Sqcm or 4.5 Mpa, aggregate gradation as per Table 3 of IRC 15-2017, coarse aggregate of clean, hard strong, dense, non-porous and durable pieces of crushed stone or gravel, fine aggregates of clean natural sand or crushed stone sand or combination of both using minimum 360 Kg/cum of cement with non-circular, virgin synthetic fibre of 12-18 mm length, specific gravity 1.34 to 1.39, UV stable, alkali resistant, with equivalent dia 15-40 micron, minimum melting temperature as 240°C and minimum tensile strength of 300 Mpa and at the rate as specified by the manufacturer. PQC laid, spread and compacted with slip-form paver of minimum 7.50m width, including curing and tining by Texturing cum Curing Machine complete all as specifed and directed. Required surface texturing to be done as specified in Clause 10.1.14 and Table 9 of IRC:15-2017.
Note:- Contractor shall consider 360 kg of cement per cum of concrete while quoting this item. Actual quantity of cement shall be used as per approved design mix. No price adjustment shall be applicable for excess quantity of cement content i.e beyond 360 kg as per approved design mix in execution of work. Non circular synthetic fiber shall be mixed in the " PQC" @ 0.25% of cement all as per manufacturers instructions. Supply only of polyester triangular/non circular synthetic fibre shall be measured and paid seperately. Cost of brooming and belting, steel formwork and testing as specified shall be deemed to be inclusive in quoted rate.
Supply only polyester triangular/Non circular synthetic fibre for pavement quality concrete PQC surface complete all as specified and directed.
Suply & laying 400 micron thick HDPE sheet (Virgin Quality) water proof, wrinkle free without puncture having minimum weight 390 gm/ sqm over tack coat/sand cushion as specified in the design with overlap between adjacent strips and at transverse joints as minimum 300mm all as approved by GE.
Note for Item No 9 :- Measurement shall be taken for net area and unit rate quoted shall deemed to include for over lapping.
M&L for 10 mm thick sand cushion with clean river sand duly clear of residual , organic and deleterious materials spread evenly to uniform thickness laid over DLC layer as specified and directed. (No additional amount to be paid for overlap)
M & L Forming 25 mm width expansion joint in concrete slab for full depth of PQC. Early entry saw and subsequent cutting by using diamond bit cutter of appropriate size, straight and smooth edges. Joint cleaned thoroughly with application of compressed air. Joint shall be made dry, vacuum cleaned and free of dirt, oil, vegetation and other debris. The joint then filled with pre-molded 25mm thick compressible polyethylene closed cell type filler board as specified, thereafter application of two coats of primer with thin brush by forward and backward movement at an interval of 30 minutes before placing the backup rod and pouring the sealant. Placing of closed cell, medium density, crossed linked polyethylene foam backup rod of 30 mm dia, over filler board and filled with polyurethane based sealant complying with BS-5212, BS 4254 and EN-141875-2003 with minimum movement accommodation factor (MAF) of +/- 30% having minimum 10 year performance guarantee, applying masked tape on the edges of joints and removing the masking tape after filling of sealant as per the method specified by the manufacturer complete as specified and directed.
M & L Cutting of construction joints 25 mm deep and 10 mm wide by early saw cut using diamond bit cutter of appropriate size, straight and smooth edges. Joint cleaned thoroughly with application of compressed air. Joint shall be made dry, vacuum cleaned and free of dirt, oil, vegetation and other debris. Application of two coats of primer with thin brush by forward and backward movement at an interval of 30 minutes before placing the backup rod and pouring the sealant. Placing of closed cell, medium density, crossed linked polyethylene foam backup rod of 12 mm dia, application of bond breaker tape on top of back up rod for complete width of the joint and filled with polyurethane based sealant complying with BS-5212, BS 4254 and EN-141875-2003 with minimum movement accommodation factor (MAF) of +/- 30% having minimum 10 year performance guarantee, applying masked tape on the edges of joints and removing the masking tape after filling of sealant as per the method specified by the manufacturer complete as specified and directed.
M & L Forming dummy/ contraction joint with an initial saw cut of 3 mm soon after the concrete has set, upto a depth of 1/3rd to 1/4th the thickness of the slab, widening the first saw cut to 6 mm and 24 mm deep by using diamond bit cutter of appropriate size, straight and smooth edges. Joint cleaned thoroughly with application of compressed air. Joint shall be made dry, vacuum cleaned and free of dirt, oil, vegetation and other debris. Application of two coats of primer with thin brush by forward and backward movement at an interval of 30 minutes before placing the backup rod and pouring the sealant. Placing of closed cell, medium density, crossed linked polyethylene foam backup rod of 8 mm dia, application of bond breaker tape on top of back up rod for complete width of the joint and filled with polyurethane based sealant complying with BS-5212, BS 4254 and EN-141875-2003 with minimum movement accommodation factor (MAF) of +/- 30% having minimum 10 year performance guarantee, applying masked tape on the edges of joints and removing the masking tape after filling of sealant as per the method specified by the manufacturer complete as specified and directed.
M&L cutting, removing damage portion of concrete surface in square/ rectangular shape for depth of 20 to 30mm thick, cleaning the surface with wire brush or cloth and removing the dirt including the wetness and dampness by means of dryer and supply and laying geo polymer based "Geo Krete - of Make eco materials or equivalent in Fosroc chemicals/ Tiki Tar/ M/s STP Limited/sika india pvt ltd rapid setting curing free semi levelling structural mortar of single compound activated by water for quick construction & levelled the surface to match with existing surface and making good the disturbed portion around the area where material are applied all as per manufacturer’s instructions as specified & directed. The geopolymer based water impermeable concrete resurfacing mortar shall have compressive strength of 15 M Pa in 2 hours and 50 M Pa in 28 days without any water curing and curing compounds having a water penetration of less than 2mm when tested as per DIN 1048 and RCPT valve of less than 800 coloumbs when tested as per ASTM C 1202.
Surface dressing not exc 15 cm deep in soft/loose soil all as specified and as directed.
M & L moorum/red bajri filling including spreading and levelling in layers not exceeding 15 cm thick, spread, levelled and rammed Including watering and rolled to true surfaces with 8 to 12 Ton capacity power roller to achieve compaction of 98% modified proctor density complete all as specified.
Note for Item No 16 above :- (i) Moorum/red bajri required shall be brought from outside MD land. (ii) Compaction of moorum filling shall be carried out under optimum moisture conditions up to the standard proctor density not less than 98 percent. (iii) Measurements shall be taken after consolidation earth and 5% deduction shall be made for payments.
M&L repairs to runway cracks by using 'RUNPHALT' bitumen tubing/ rope for filling of cracks on the runway width of crack 5mm to 7mm with the help of screw driver pushing it inside the crack then apply direct flame 20-30 second through torch method complete all as per manufacturers instruction and as directed by Engineer-in-Charge. Make:- M/s Srijan System PVT Ltd or equivalent as approved by GE

M&L for Runway, PTT, Subsidiary runway, Dispersals and other airfield area grass cutting manually or with hand operated petrol/kerosene driven grass cutting machine and also to remove any foreign materials or stones and removing the materials/grass waste from Runway, PTT, Subsidiary runway, Dispersals and other airfield area to a distance exc 250m. Note: Contractor shall provide 02 Nos of skilled manpower to execute the job alongwith necessary grass cutting equipments / machineries and POL etc on a required basis as directed by Engineer in charge.
Demolition of brick work or stone/ boulder masonry, built in cement mortar including all quoins, pillars etc., including removing debris material to out side MD land complete all as specified and directed.
M&L Brickwork with fly ash bricks using old size bricks, straight or curved on plan exc 6m mean radius built in CM 1:6 complete all as specified and as directed
M & L Rendering 15 mm thick on brick or concrete surfaces, in cement mortar 1:4 mixed with water proofing compound as per manufacturer instructions finished even and smooth without using extra cement complete all as specified and directed. M&L for applying one coat of water based road marking paint such as lines, dashes, arrows, letters, boxes etc on flexible/rigid pavements and the like including complete removal of existing painting surfaces by brushes/ mechanical grinder/ sand papers, making surface rough to hold paint exceeding 10 cm wide all as specified and as directed using mechanical pavement marking machine including necessary DG Set required to operate the machine. Complete scraping / removal of existing paint deemed to be inclusive in the above quoted rate.
M&L for applying one coat of water based paint of yellow/orange/red/grey/ colour on runway/taxiway/apron or other airfield markings of any size and length including letters and numeral markings with suitable spray machine, including complete removal of existing painting surfaces by brushes/ mechanical grinder/ sand papers, making surface rough to hold paint exceeding 10 cm wide all as specified and as directed. Complete scraping / removal of existing paint deemed to be inclusive in the above quoted rate.
M&L for applying one coat of water based paint of black colour on runway/ taxiway/ apron or other airfield markings of any size and length including letters and numeral markings with suitable spray machine, including complete removal of existing painting surfaces by brushes/ mechanical grinder/ sand papers, making surface rough to hold paint not exceeding 10 cm wide all as specified and as directed. Complete scraping / removal of existing paint deemed to be inclusive in the above quoted rate.
M&L for Chipping out neatly and cutting of existing loose concrete of cracks at rigid pavement in Air Field area by using saw cutter, Cutting of crack portion shall not be less than 100 mm wide and 25 mm deep (minimum) and clearing of all loose material with air blower/ sand blaster and the portion applying proprietory primer on surface to obtain tack and finally filled by Elastomeric concrete mix shall be prepared as per manufacturer's instructions to obtain true surface and finally set the surface with hand tools complete all as specified and directed. Make:-M /s Fosroc Chemicals - Patchroc Chemicals / M/s STP Limited- ShaliPatch / M/s Choksey Chemicals Pvt Ltd. -Flex 0 patch. Note: Providing masking tape at joints/ on edge of cut portion and necessary formwork required if any at spalled joints edge to prevent accidental spillage of concrete on top surfaces to give a neat finish and any spillage on concrete slab to be cleared. The quoted rate is deemed to be inclusive of this provision.
