Carrying out Civil Engineering works like surveying & leveling, checking of formwork fabrication, reinforcement fabrication as per drawings, witnessing sample retrieval & testing for various construction materials, ensuring concrete ingredient ratio at batching plant / Site and pouring of appropriate grade of concrete in plain and reinforced concrete works, ensuring proper mixing of approved ingredients & waterproofing admixtures for mortars and brickwork, plaster, flooring & waterproofing works, and other civil & PH works including supervision of construction safety as per BARC specifications & relevant documentation, compiling, binding and preparation of tender documents & Agreements overall as directed by Engineer-in-Charge (EIC). Note : (1) Each Job shall be carried out by one qualified Degree holder Civil Engineer with 2 (Two) years experience or Diploma holder with 5 (Five) year experience (Licentiate in Civil/Construction Engineering / Technology) conducted by Board of Technical Examinations / University / Autonomous Govt. / Govt. recognized Polytechnic/ Institute. (2) Deployment: The contractor shall deploy one Engineer for each job for minimum 26 working days per month for minimum 8 ½ hours per day with 30 minutes of break, in General (Ist / IInd) or on Round the clock shift including Saturdays, Sundays & holidays whenever necessary as per the discretion of the EIC during the contract period. In case of emergency works like continuous pouring of concrete or shutdown/maintainance work, the deployed Engineer shall have to stay longer occasionally as per the instruction of the EIC. No additional payment will be made on this account. For any shortfall in attending duty less than minimum 26 working days, deductions shall be made on Pro-rata basis. (3) Period of work: The contractor shall carry out number of Jobs per month as per requirement at site for the period mentioned in NIT. (4) Mode of measurement : Measurement will be per job basis. A single job shall be carried out by deploying one engineer exclusively for the particular job. (5) Engineer should be engaged after scrutiny by EIC of CED, BARC and approved by Competent authority and the deployed Engineer will report to BARC Engineer/ EIC. (6) The minimum notice period before change of engineer is 1 (one) month; failing which a compensation, for not providing technical support, of Rs. 2,106/- per day of shortfall in notice period will be levied on the contractor.

Obtaining 90 mm diameter, 450 mm long undisturbed soil samples (UDS ) from boreholes WITH JARRING LINK in soil, soft and weathered rock and collecting packaging and labeling.
Conducting Standard Penetration Tests (SPT) in soil, soft and weathered rock and collecting, packaging and labelling disturbed soil/rock samples there from all as per IS:2131-1981(reaffirmed in 2002).
Conducting Standard Penetration Tests (SPT) as in Item No. 85 above but with part of the distrubed soil samples of medium stiff to hard cohesive soils to be coated with paraffin wax and sealed immediately on collection to completely retain all moisture within the sample, and part of the sample to be collected, packaged and sealed as in item No. 85 above.
Conducting SPT in rock with RQD greater than 10% and less than 25% all as per specifications, including replacement of SPT shoe by a new SPT shoe for each SPT as per specifications.

Conducting insitu Vane shear Test (IVST) as per IS : 4434 -1978 (Reaffirmed in2002) to evaluate shear strength.at the depth of foundation recommended by Geotechnical Enginner and location will be finalised in consultation with the Engineer In Charge. Conducting test for soil classification and Percent fines as per IS : 1498 - 1970 (Reaffirmed in 2006) to evaluate soil classification & Identification. Note :The test shall be conducted on DS/ UDS collected from borehole as decided by Engineer in charge.
Determination of Liquid limit, plastic limit and plasticity index of soil sample as per IS: 2720 (part5)-1985 Reaffirmed in 2006. The test is to be conducted on one or more DS(disturbed sample ) &UDS(undisturbed sample) collected from each borehole or alternate&staggered boreholes and representative of each soil stratum as directed by the EIC.
Determination of Shrinkage limit and shrinkage ratio of soil sample as per IS: 2720 (part-VI )-1972 Reaffirmed in 2001. The test is to be conducted on one or more DS(disturbed sample ) &UDS(undisturbed sample) collected from each borehole or alternate&staggered boreholes and representative of each soil stratum as directed by the EIC.
Field density, voids ratio and natural moisture content of UDS Tube samples by density bottle method, Pyenometer method as per IS ; 2720 (Part-II) - 1973.
Water content from UDS by oven drying method as per IS : 2720(Part II) - 1973.
Chemical analysis of sub-soil, ground water&soil-water mixture as per relevant IScodes for determining chemical characteristics of water&soil such as colour,odour,turbidity ,pHvalueand specific conductivity at 25deg.Cand chemical contents such as carbonates,sulfates (both SO3and SO4), chlorides,nitrates,organic matter and any other chemical harmful to the foundation material . The test is to be conducted on one or more water samples collected from each borehole. water samples, including alkalinity sulphates as SO3 & SO4, chlorides, Nitrates, pH, turbidity, flouride, free and saline ammonia content, hardness etc., organic content ,soluble salt content and any other chemical & harmful chemicals . etc
Consolidation tests on undisturbed soil samples or on soil samples compacted to specified density, giving full test results including unit weights, specific gravity, e-log p curve, virgin curve, P0, eo, Cc, Cv and mv for all pressure increments etc. (Tests without presentation of these results will not be paid for.)
Unconfined compressive strength test as per IS: 2720 (Part10) 1991 (Reaffirmed in 2006) on undisturbed soil samples or soil samples compacted to specified density.
Triaxial compressive Strength Test on undisturbed soil samples or on soil samples compacted to specified density. Tests to be conducted asper IS:2720 (Part11)-1993 (Reaffirmed in 2002). NOTE: The UDS shall correspond to each soil stratum. Hence can be decided only after receipt of borelog data. Test to be done in alternate boreholes and 2 samples assumed per borehole.and as decided by the design Engineer.

Carrying Electrical resistivity test for evaluating ground water level and its variation along with subsurface stratification,ground profiling by Schlumberger four electrode method including submission of comprehensive report with interpreted results for layer thickness and resistivities in triplicate. The test is to be conducted as per IS:1892 -1979(Reaffirmed in 2002), IS:15736-2007(Reaffirmed in 2012) covering whole plan area of building upto depth of exploration below existing ground level.
Carrying out Sand replacement method test (for medium&coarse grained soil) as per IS:2720(Part XXVIII)-1974 (Reaffirmed 2010) to evaluate Bulkdensity,dry density.The test is to be conducted on one or more DS(disturbed sample )collected from each borehole or alternate&staggered boreholes and representative of each soil stratum as directed by the EIC.
Determination of Specific gravity, natural moisture content, voids ratio by conducting Density bottle method, Pycnometer method test as per IS2720(Part III/Sec1 or Sec2 )-1980 (reaffirmed in 2002)along with submission of test result as directed by EIC. The test is to be conducted on one or more DS(disturbed sample ) &UDS(undisturbed sample) collected from each borehole or alternate&staggered boreholes and representative of each soil stratum as directed by the EIC.
Conducting Free Swell Index Test as per IS2720(Part 40) The test is to be conducted on one or more DS(disturbed sample ) &UDS(undisturbed sample) collected from each borehole or alternate&staggered boreholes and representative of each soil stratum as directed by the EIC, submission of test result as directed by EIC.
Preparation and submission of three (3) copies of Draft reports as specified followed by five (5) copies of Final report of Geotechnical Investigations as detailed in specifications along with a soft copy of the same on the CD. Note: 1. Final Report to be submitted shall include recommendations for the geotechnical investigation consisting of deliverables as per FORMAT - 2 which will be issued to the successful bidders. 2. Geotech Investigations for Soils and Rock will be carried out to evaluate the different type of test values as per FORMAT - 1 which will be issued to the successful bidders.
Conducting survey for land and water body using Total Station and other suitable instrument including apex to apex traverse showing all salient features like permanent structures, roads, culverts, nalla, HT lines, telephones, sewer lines, marking trees nos and list of trees, girth type of tree etc. and establishing true North at site as directed by the Engineer and preparation of drawing etc. complete. (3) 3 sets of hard copies of the drawings inA0 size sheets shall be submitted alongwith soft copy.
