Conducting structural inspection for Primary & Secondary wing of Navy Children School, under GE Minniebay, Port Blair which include the following complete all as specified as directed.
Visual Survey :- Visual inspection for surface damages and its classification identification cracks and ascertain the causes of cracks as per IS-456 and SP-25. The visual inspection shall cover entire area of the school bldg in and around (both internal and external) areas to identify the areas of high distress, corrosion, moisture, leakage, abnormal variations in structure, algae and fungus growth, efflorescence, etc., which includes indentification of cracks, alignment of columns & beams. Visual inspection would be documented in the form of worksheets, photographic records, and distress over drawings. Simple tools and instruments like camera with flash light, megnifying glass, binoculars, chisel and hammer, etc., shall be used for measuring the distresses as per site requirement as per ACI 201.1R-08.
Rebound Hammer Test:- For determining the estimated compressive strength of concerete and uniformity of concrete in terms of surface hardness as per IS 13311 (Part-2) 1992, ASTM C 805-02, BS 6089:1981 and BS 1881 : Part-202, BS EN:13791, also establishing correlation chart between rebound hammer and other confirmatory test for having estimated in-sify strength of concrete if required. In absence of the confirmatory test strength data will be generated on the basis of empirical formula (obtained from the calibration chart) but those results will have 25% variation as per IS 13311 Part 2 1992. The approx Qty in secondary wing is secondary winds is 400 and primary wing is 200.
Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity :- Test for ascertaining the quality of concrete, uniformity of concrete in terms of soundness and density of concrete as per IS 13311 (Part-1) -1992, ASTM C597-83, BS 6098 :1981 and BS 1881 Part 203 and BS EN 13791; also establishing correlation chart between ultrasonic pulse velocity and other confirmatory test having estimated insitu strength of concrete if required. To determine & identify internal cracks & condition at raft bars. The approx Qty in secondary wing is 400 and primary wing is 200.
Core test :- Core cutting and compression test for RCC structure in accordance with IS:516 on RCC members 70mm core cutting in reinforcement concrete, core filling by speialised epoxy material/micro concrete with bond coat at strategic locations. The approx qty in secondary wing is 100 and primary wing is 50.
Chemical Test for RCC structure in accordance with IS 456 2000 using ready made kits and reagents. Sample collected will be from half cell/carbonation powder. (i) Determination of pH value. (ii) Determination of water soluble sulphates. (iii) Determination of water soluble chlorides contents at strategic locations and various structural deformities including reasons for settlement as directed by Engineer-in-Charge.
Reinforcement Cover Test : Reinforcement cover test on RCC members to assess covers spacing of bars at strategic locations.
To check & confirm present status of strucutre on basis of NDT results & visual inspection & preparation report with likely causes.
Suggestion for remedial measures to repair cracks etc including preparation and submission of appropriate repairs method and strengtening scheme along with BOQ.
Vetting of report from Structural Engineer Department of IIT (Bombay, Chennai, Kharagpur, Kanpur, Delhi, Roorkee) and also to be approved by E2 Design of HQ CE (A&N) Zone.
M&L for Carrying out the soil investigation in respect to cover field work and laboratory studies includes:- (a) Mobilization of plats and equipments including men and materials required at site of soil investigation, setting of boring/drilling as required and demobilization of plants and equipment on completion of work etc complete (Which includes conveyance of sample collected to testing laboratory as required for the purpose of testing). (b) Boring 150mm dia boreholes from GL upto 10m depth or refusal of strata where N value is obtained more than 50/100 whichever is earlier, to take samples and carryout necessary tests as mentioned below. (c) Carrying out standard Penetration test (SPT) as per IS:2131 including collection of disturbed soil samples in boreholes of every one metre depth or any change or strata and submit the report with all requisite date. (Item 12.00 Contd.../-)
(d) Collection of undisturbed soil sample at every 3m intervals or at any change of strata in 100mm bore thin walled tube samples including waxing sealing packing, transporting to the Lab. (e) Conducting necessary test on all collected samples which includes the determination of :- (i) Shrinkage limit (ii) Atterberg Limits (iii) Natural moisture contant (iv) Wet and dry density (v) Particle size (Soil grain size/ hydrometer analysis) (vi) Consolidation test (vii) Tri-axial shear test (viii) Specific gravity test (ix) Direct Shear Test (x) Free swell index (xi) Crushing strength of rock samples (xii) Testing of ground water sample for sulphates and chlorides and pH. (f) Compilation of data and preparation and submission of report in 04 copies containing NSBCV, SBC, settement test result, graphs, charts, calculation etc and recommendation for foundation.
Structural review of staad file with available structural drawing of both primary and Secondary Wing and checking for conformance to seismic Zone-V including checking all lintels and recording development lengths in Secondary Wing in presence of rep of Accepting Officer and checking all columns and beams for plumb and warping and recording the observations/ deviations in presence of rep Accepting Officer. Note : Bidder to develop staad file with the existing structural drawing. Structural drawing shall be provided by Dept.
Checking and testing of sub structure for defects of both Primary and Secondary Wing and checking sample of piles for depth and load conditions and confirming that the foundation of Secondary and Primary School Buildings are fit for use.
Checking the roof truss and gusset/ insert plates in both Primary and Secondary Wing conformance to design/Structural drawings and degree of corrossion.
