Rectification of leakages in 200mm dia. M.S Rising main of WSS Chewa Pehlipora-2nd by way of: - Road cutting and excavation of soil in bulk by Mechanized means over areas exceeding 30 cm in depth including getting out excavated soil including all lifts without disposal of excavated soil for exposing already laid pipes.

Earth work in bulk excavation by manual means over areas (exceeding 30 cm in depth) in paddy field and beneath the already laid pipes for making working space including getting out the excavated soil including all lifts without its disposal and avoiding any damage to already laid optical fiber cables of communication department laid along the rising main shall be the scope of the job, beneath the pipes for making working space. The job shall include making the leaking spots visible. The actual size of excavation and length with leakage spots shall be calculated after detecting the number of leaking spots in the rising main which presently is underground and invisible.

Removing the dirt, dust and de-watering (by using de-watering portable pumping unit of adequate capacity) in the trenches to detect leaking spots on the rising main pipe and water pipe lines junction of other departments. Cutting the opening window for welding purpose on the top side of the rising main, followed by the de-watering of pipe line by using de-watering pump to empty the pipe line to facilitate the inside welding of the circumferential joints wherever required. double bead welding of the circumferential joint of the pipe line both inside and outside of the rising main, by using standard welding electrodes. The job may be repeated for other leaking spots, if any. The job of welding will conclude by welding the opening window of the pipe by double bead welding to make it leak proof. The job requires oxy-acetylene gas for the cutting and repairing, then welding at leaking spots on the rising main. The job also includes arrangement of mobile DG set as there is no feasibility of tapping of power supply for carrying out welding job, the job also includes arrangement of gas cutter, oxy- acetylene, welding machine of required capacity, skilled labors and other tools and tackles as per site requirement. The job has to be carried in highly careful/skilled way to avoid any damage to the already laid communication cables due to gas cutter/welding. The entire job is to carried out in single go which may take any required duration (one or two days) to make the disrupted water supply functional. The job further includes testing of rising main on full load.

Refilling of available excavated soil in the trenches after successful testing of rising main including dressing of the soil in layers and disposal of surplus excavated soil (if any)/cleaning of site as per directions of engineer in charge at site complete in all respects.
