SOIL INVESTIGATION FOR PROVISION OF UNIT RUN CANTEEN AT 41 WEU AIR FORCE STATION PATHANKOT

Determination of SBC of investigation of soil by performing SPT by boring 150mm dia bore hole upto 6 m depth / refusal along with SPT at suitable interval upto 15 m or in case of gravel/bounder/rock strata, open pit upto 2.0 m depth each along with DCPT upto 6.00 M depth/refusal whichever is earlier and one no of trial pit 5 mtr away from BH (both centrally placed), collection of soil sample disturbed or undisturbed) their complete analysis conforming to IS code 1893-199 including submission of 03 Nos hard copies and 01 Nos soft copy of test report will also form part of SBC report of soil. 1. RL of ground level/founding level with ref to a BM should invariably be mentioned in soil investigation report. Location of bore holes and GL should be clearly marked on site plan or layout plan of the proposed bldgs and shall be standard part of the report. 2 Recommended SBC should be given for (a) All the bore holes (b) Minimum at there depth viz 1.5m, 2.0m and 2.5m (c) SBC should be worked out for following sizes of footings (aa) 1.5m X 1.5 m (ab) 1.5m X 2.5 m (ac) 2.0 m 2.5 m (ad) 2.0 m x 3.0 m (ae) 2.5 m x 3.0 m (af) 3.0 m X 3.0m (ag) Raft foundation (d) Photographic record of the testing shall form part of the report. Also soil or rock samples left out after lab test shall be handed over to the Engr-in-Charge. (e) Depth of ground water table in peak monsoon season (lowest) and peak summer (highest) after correlation of result with seasonal variation of water table in the station (f) Recommendation of filling under floor and improvement of existing subsoil using proper soil stabilizer methods of soil underneath foundation system. 3. Final soil investigation report shall reach this office within three months from date of issue of work order.
