The Vacuum Circuit Breaker should comply to IS:13118, IS:3427, IS:2705, IS:3156, IS 613, IEC:62271-200 up to the latest revision, with MODBUS PROTOCAL.
PANEL:
The HT switchgear shall be suitable for 6 KV 3 phase, 50 Hz A.C mains power system & of at least 250 MVA breaking capacity.
Short time current withstand time for the VCB should be 25KA for 3 seconds.
These shall be vacuum circuit breaker type, with Horizontal Isolation Horizontal draw out and totally enclosed metal clad with 3 compartments & made of at least 2.5 mm thick CRCA sheet steel for load bearing members absolutely vermin proof draw out type with automatic shutters with an arrangement for complete isolation of busbars, cable sockets & others live parts etc. when the removable portion is withdrawn. | 1 | No. | - | - | - | - | - | - |
| 1.1The switches arranged for hand operation through front of the panel push buttons & spring charged mechanisms through an electric motor energized by 230Volt A.C for closing & 110V D.C for tripping made available from the station 415 volts 3-phase 50 Hz A.C. source, with remote operation compatibility. All trip coils of shunt trip type energized from a suitable Rectifier condenser source/power pack. The VCB trolley should be floor roll out type with folded ram provided with the panel. The shutter shall be gravity operated & the sheet metal gone through 9 tank pre-treatment process, painted with powder coating echnology & oven dried. It should be made on bolted structure after shearing, punching & bending in CNC machines. The panel should have adequate space to ensure suitable internal clearance and it should be extensible type. The 'panel must have a front door with necessary locking facility. The breaker compartment should have distinct service, test and isolated position. with necessary interlock. The complete panel including the door shall be internally arc tested to avoid injury to the operational personnel during short circuit, if any. The VCB design should be floor roll out type so that the VCB truck can be taken out of the breaker compartment with the help of folded ramp and without requiring any external breaker carrying trolley. | |||||||||
| 1.2FRONT DOOR : The panel front door should be closed with the breaker in the isolated position. The degree of protection shall be IP-4X which is the highest degree of protection applicable for Indoor switch board as per IS 3427. BUSBAR The main busbars being of 630A and made of Electrolytic grade copper. The bus bars should be air insulated but must be HT PVC sleeved & colour coded for R-Y-B. No live parts should be accessible. All joints should covered with monoplast compound. Earth bar also should be of Electrolytic grade copper. BREAKER The breaker shall be vacuum circuit breaker with integral truck design & horizontal isolation and horizontal draw out type. It should have a robust motorized mechanism. The spring charging cycle should be O-C-O. The VCB should be of single break design & have one vacuum Interrupter per phase. The Vacuum Interrupter should be of the same make as the VCB Panel Manufacturer and should be of rotating arc design., it should be sealed in brazing in a vacuum oven & all the vacuum Interrupters must be segregated in a cast resin housing. The minimum expected operational life of. the vacuum Interrupter should be 30,000 mechanical, 10,000 electrical at rated current & 100 at rated short circuit. The breaker should have auxiliary switch with minimum 6 NO + 6 NC. | |||||||||
| 1.3EARTHING Separate earthing truck - shall be provided for earthing. INTERLOCK The panel & breaker must be interlocked so that - A closed locked breaker can not be inserted into a panel in the SERVICE position or can not be taken out from a panel when in SERVICE position. A breaker can not be operated in between TEST & SERVICE position. A breaker can not be inserted into a panel in the SERVICE position or can not be taken out from a panel when in SERVICE position without connecting the control circuit. If earth is provided it shall be mechanically interlocked with the breaker so that both the devices can not be ON simultaneously. | |||||||||
| 1.4CURRENT TRANSFORMER Current Transformer should be tape wound type fastened on a cast resin bar primary for primary current rating as specified to facilitate easy replacement in case of an unforeseen damage during service. Cast Resin encapsulated current transformer is acceptable below 200A. CT with multicore arrangement is acceptable. Metering core should be of Class 1.0& protection core shall be of class 5P10. The CT should have at least 25% over capacity than total connected load. The CT should be capable to withstand the rated full short circuit current for minimum 1 second. POTENTIAL TRANSFORMER The POTENTIAL TRANSFORMER shall be draw-out type with HRC fuses provided in both the sides of primary & secondary. Line connected PT mounted in a breaker carriage is not acceptable. The POTENTIAL TRANSFORMER shall be cast resin moulded & insulated type, encapsulated & 3-phase type with Y-Yconnection. It should be of Class 1.0 with over voltage factor 1.2 continuous for a solidly grounded system. METER TThe indicating meters should be MISC type & 96X96 sq.mm. size with 90 degrees scale----Energy meters (KWH Meter) being Digital type.( Make : AE/ ABB/ Schneider/ Siemens) RELAY The protective current & voltage relays being microprocessor based Numerical type. Only CROMPTON/ ABB/ Schneider/ Siemens Make relays are acceptable. TESTING The fully assembled switchboard shall be offered for Routine Testing as per provision of IS standards mentioned above. The manufacturer should submit closing & tripping time curve after testing on a breaker analyzer. For major components like CT, PT, Meters & Relays the routine test certificates of the respective manufacturers need to be submitted. | |||||||||

| 2.1The coils shall be manufactured from electrolytic copper conductor & fully insulated for rated voltage. Coils shall be resin molded for both LV & HV with epoxy resin, encapsulated, class F, naturally cooled (AN). Insulating materials shall be of proven design & should be selected in such a way that the transformer will be capable of supplying 110% continuous load. Coils shall be so insulated that impulse & power frequency voltage stresses are minimum. Coil assembly shall be suitably supported betwwn adjacent sections by insulating spacers and barriers. All leads from the windings to the terminal board & bushings shall be rigidly supported to prevent injury from vibration or short circuit stresses. Guide tube shall be used where practicable. The core and coil assembly shall be securely fixed in position so that no shifting or deformation occurs during movement of transformer or under short circuit stresses. | |||||||||
