Repairing the damaged water proofing at folded plate type roof terrace of Engineering Hall 1 and 2 building in IGCAR, Kalpakkam.

Providing water proofing treatment to the RCC cast insitu terrace and gutters using ‘CERA WP SHIELD P4180 / Fosroc Torchseal 4PI or approved equivalent’ 4mm thick and ‘CERA WP SHIELD SLATED / Fosroc Torchseal 4PI or approved equivalent’ 4mm thick as per specifications and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge for following. a) The existing tarfelt, bituminous primer, WP Tiles and foam concrete, waterproofing membranes & cement based water proofing treatment, and all types of water proofing treatment shall be removed completely by cutting and peeling off from the surface and disposing the same 50m beyond the building area. b) V grooves shall be cut along the surface crack, along the construction joints on wall - slab joints and the same shall be filled with cementitious non shrink grout ‘Cera Grout 40 / Fosroc Conbextra GP / SikaGrout-214 IN S or approved equivalent’. c) The area shall be tested for any leakages by ponding of water (water holding test) before and after application of treatment in panels. (panels shall be made by least ratio of cement mortar and the same shall be thoroughly cleaned before receiving further treatment). Incase of any leaks found, Foam grouting shall be done, which will be paid under relevant item. d) When the entire surface is water-tight, dry and moisture free, one coat of bituminous primer shall be applied over surface @ 0.3 kg/sqm and 1st layer of 5 - layered, 4mm thick, polymer reinforced APP membrane WP SHIELD P4180 from CERA / Torchseal 4PI from FOSROC / SIKA shall be laid with 200mm overlapping by torch - on application when the primed surface is tacky and as per the manufacturers recommendation. e) The second layer of 4 or 5 - layered, 4mm thick, polymer reinforced APP membrane WP SHIELD - SLATED from CERA / Torchseal 4PI from FOSROC / SIKA shall be laid with 200mm overlapping by torch - on application when the primed surface is tacky and as per the manufacturers recommendation shall be laid in perpendicular direction to the first layer. Note: i) The treatment should be done by an agency specialised in the job having sufficient knowledge of water proofing treatment. Suggested vendors : (1) M/s. Cera-Chem Pvt. Ltd., Chemicals (2) M/s. Fosroc Chemicals (3) M/s. Sika India Pvt. Ltd. Chemicals ii) Ten years guarantee shall be given by the contractor in the prescribed form of the department for the above water proofing treatment work

Providing and constructing haunching of size 100mm X 100mm using CC 1:2:4 using 6mm down graded chips admixed with approved make of SBR latex at 1kg per 50kg (1 bag) of cement complete all as directed by Engineer-in-Charge.

Providing on the floor area by screeding with screed concrete of M20 grade with total minimum cementitious content (cement + fly ash content not exceed 20 % by weight of total cementitious content) 320kg/cum of concrete and minimum cement content of 256 Kg/cum of concrete (shall be using 10mm down aggregate) admixed with crystalline based integral water proofing admixture of approved make at the ratio of 0.8% by weight of cement (or as per manufacturer recommendation) to the required thickness and slope at terrace water proofing including applying one coat of SBR polymer modified cementitious bond coat at 2.2 kg cement per sqm of surface area mixed with specified proportion (at 10% of cement weight or as per manufacturer specification) of SBR polymer of approved make over the prepared surface at all locations and all elevation and specification and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge. Note: 1) The area shall be tested for any leakage by ponding of water (water holding test) before and after application of treatment in panels. (panels shall be made by least ratio of cement mortar and the same shall be thoroughly cleaned before receiving further treatment). 2) This item shall include placing the pumpable concrete by boom placer, concrete pump, supply of RMC concrete in Transit mixer as directed by Engineer-in-charge if bulk quantity is required according to the site conditions. 3) Concrete shall be placed in layers in such a way that fibre glass mesh (if required by Engineer-in-Charge) will be fixed in between layers and fixing of fibre glass mesh shall be paid under separate item.

Supplying and fixing in all position of Alkali resistance Glass fibre mesh of Gyproc Fiber Mesh or approved equivalent (4-5mm square aperture or as per specified at site with 145 gsm) fixed with neat cement paste or by manufacturer recommendation fixed below screed concrete with minimum 100mm overlapping at mesh joints and as instructed by Engineer-in-Charge.

Supplying and providing the approved make of STRIP SEAL upto 250mm width Expansion joint strip treatment for Roof slab/vertical wall area including chipping & surface preparation, applying adhesive as per strip seal manufacturer recommendation over the roof slab expansion joint to a minimum width of 50mm and aligning to the required line, overlapping of minimum 100mm of strip with suitable rubber adhesive, carefully removing of air pockets & wrinkles, including providing and fixing approved quality of polyethylene/high quality foam backer rods with approved sealant/adhesive, including chipping the existing water proofing, treatment with approved SBR latex coating at 1kg per 50kg of cement, 2.2kg cement per sq.m. with 600mm wide (300mm on expansion joint and 300mm on roof slab) on both side of joints, complete all as specification and as directed by Engineer-in-Charge. Note: The area shall be tested for any leakages by ponding water in panels. In case of any leaks found grouting shall be done with contractor cost.

Above 50mm and upto 100mm wide

Providing and fixing double Tubular scaffolding system using H-Frames / APS system or (cup lock type) on the exterior side made with 40mm dia M.S. tube 1.5m centre to centre horizontal and vertical tubes joining with cup and lock system with M.S. tubes, M.S. tube challies, M.S clamps and M.S staircase system in the scaffolding for working platform etc. and maintaining it in a serviceable condition for the required duration as approved and removing it thereafter. The scaffolding system shall be stiffened with bracings, runners, connection with building etc. wherever required for inspection of work at required locations with essential safety features for the workmen etc. complete as per directions and as approved by the Engineer -in-charge. The elevation area of the scaffolding shall be measured for payment purposes. The payment shall be made once irrespective of duration of scaffolding.

Providing Structural repair work to the exposed reinforced concrete surfaces of columns, beams, slabs, window sills, staircase and lintel cum sunshades at all locations and at all elevations by guniting including preparing the surface, providing and applying 25mm thick polymer modified mortar by manually over a coat of polymer bonding agent CERA LATEX SBR / NITOBOND SBR LATEX from FOSROC / CICA or equivalent @ 2kg per bag of cement and cost of all materials, labour, tools, tackles, equipment’s, fuel & transport etc. complete as directed by Engineer in charge and as per the specifications which consists of. a) Chipping, grinding and removing all the porous / loose parts, cracked / damaged concrete to the required sound concrete surface, exposing the rods and cleaning any foreign material including removing the rust and loose scales from the exposed reinforcement with wire and coir brushes and cleaning the entire surface by blowing compressed air and / or water jet. etc. complete. b) If required by Engineer-in-Charge, applying epoxy zinc rich primer of CERA ZINC-ZR / NITOZINC from FOSROC / SICA or equivalent in 2 coats to the exposed reinforcement and new reinforcement after doing the necessary surface preparation which will be paid separately under relevant item. c) Bonding coat on surface: Providing and applying a coat of epoxy resin based bonding agent of ‘Cera Bond EP / Fosroc Nito Bond EP/ Sikadur-32 IN’ or approved equivalent to the cleaned and prepared concrete surface prior to applying of polymer modified mortar. d) Polymer modified mortar : Applying polymer modified mortar 1:3 (1 cement : 3 crushed stone sand) admixed with ‘Cera latex SBR / Fosroc Nito Bond SBR / Sikalatex SBR or approved equivalent’ at 6% weight of cement (or as per manufacturer recommendation) for a thickness of 25mm by mechanically or manually and neatly finished as instructed over the prepared surface. Note: 1) Scaffolding will be paid in separately in the relevant item. 2) The contractor shall arrange the suitable safety arrangements for executing the work at his own cost as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.

Dismantling brick work in cement mortar at all levels by manually / by mechanical means, carefully without damaging adjacent structures including stacking of serviceable materials and disposal of unserviceable materials within 50m lead all as per specifications and directed by the Engineer-in-charge.
