Repairs to arrest leakages in 900mm dia MS Rising main laid underground across the PMGSY road at Kaisarmulla RD 300 meters by way of:

Earth excavation work on both sides of the road using back hoe excavator for digging pits of the suitable size about 144 cubic feet each and then refilling both the excavated pits after execution of repair works. The job includes draining of rising main and dewatering of pits by using portable dewatering pump to be arranged by the contracting agency.

Creating an opening of (750mm x 450mm) size in the 900mm dia MS rising main pipeline on both sides of the road by using suitable tools viz., gas cutters / welding machine and employing skilled labours.

Detecting the leakage spots in the rising main pipe laid underground and then cleaning/ grinding leaked spots using proper tools, tackles and skilled labours. The job includes providing and fixing M.S flat strip of 50mm width having 4 mm thickness over the damaged/ leaked portion along the inner periphery of the pipe by way of welding using standard electrodes. All tools & tackles including safety arrangements of skilled labours, lighting arrangement, oxygen supply etc., shall be arranged by the contracting agency.

Fabrication, providing and fitting of 02 no frames fabricated out of ISA 80x80x12mm of 2.4m length each to be fitted on periphery of the openings in the rising mainby way of welding. The job includes proper welding of the frame to the rising main pipeline by using standard electrodes till leakproof joint is ensured, capable to withstand full load during operation of the pumps. The job further includes drilling of 20mm dia holes on each frame (20 no) and includes welding of proper size nuts on bottom side of drilled holes in both the base frames for fastening of cover plates. The job includes providing and fitting of 3 mm thick high-pressure rubber washers as per site requirement (two no).

Fabrication, providing and fitting of 02 no cover plates fabricated out of MS sheet of the size 830x530x12mm for covering the newly fabricated base frames welded to the rising main pipe. The job includes drilling of 20mm dia holes (20no) on the cover plates and fabrication, providing and fitting of handles (02 no) for easy lifting of the plates fabricated out of 15mm dia MS bar. The job further includes providing and fitting of 20mm dia high tensile steel bolts of 80 mm length (40 no) for fastening the cover plates to base frame. The job includes painting to the fabricated access windows by applying anti-corrosive black japan bitumen paint and then testing for leakages on full load.

Repairing /Servicing of 600mm dia Sluice valves installed in the pump house by way of dismantling the valve and then removing the operating mechanism. The job includes carrying out necessary repairs to operating mechanism, valve plate and valve seat and providing and fitting of valve washers as per sample. The job also includes welding of the bypass arrangement to arrest leakages followed by reinstallation of the valve and testing on full load.
