Sch 'A' PART-XIX (DIFFERENT TYPE OF EARTHING/CHEMICAL EARTHING WORKS) Note: This schedule is not pre priced by MES and the pre priced rate indicated as "Rs. 0.00" under Col.5 signifies this fact only.
Earthing complete with galvanized steel earth plate electrode 60 cm x 60 cm x 6.0mm thick buried directly in ground, (Earth pit not less than 2.25 mtr deep below ground level) with top edge of plate not less than 1.5 mtr below normal ground level, connected to and including 4 mm dia galvanized earth lead wire by means of bolts, nuts, check nuts and washers of galvanized standard iron or steel all as specified or indicated in electrical plate No 3 of MES Part-I, including testing on completion including the material and labour of the following: - (a) Excavation and earth work or drilling hole for electrode in any type of soil. (b) PCC pit in cement concrete 1:2:4 type B-1. Supply and installation of maintenance free earthing with electrode having 1 no copper plate interconnected of size 900 x 600 x 5mm with 32 x 6mm copper strip of length 1.5 mtrs and having solid rod electrode of 17.2 mm dia with 250 microns copper coating of length 3 mtr centrally placed with suitable connectors for lower resistance. Thick layer of suitable conductive concrete with resistivity .001 ohms (compound 25 kgs bag x4) mix with a cement in a ratio of 3:1, make as per IEEE 80 2000, Clause 14.5 D, maintenance free earthing system to give Earthing resistance value of < 1 Ohm. The soil shall be mixed with backfill. Copper bonded Electrode's should be solid and surrounded with highly conductive and non-corrosive nature & covered with Poly plastic Earth pit cover, including excavation in any type of soil, removal of surplus soil, complete including testing all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-Charge. The unit rate includes GI pipe up to 7.5m for protection of earth lead (ii) The unit rate includes main earthing lead/strip from earth electrode to test point up to 7.5 meter (iii) In case measured value of earth resistance is recorded more than 1.0 ohms then the Earthing shall be re- done by the contractor without any extra cost to the department (iv) If there is a requirement of Grid Earthings to achieve desired earth resistance, as directed by Eng-in-charge, then inter connecting of different earthings shall be done at no Extra cost
