Limiting Oxygen Index Tester The LOI Tester should accurately determine the relative flammability of textile materials, plastics and other materials. It should conform to ASTM D2863 and ISO 4589-1, ISO 4589-2 standards and provide a means for safely determining the relative flammability of materials by measuring the minimum oxygen concentration that will support combustion. The instrument should have Paramagnetic oxygen sensor for assessing accurate oxygen (<0.1% deviation) levels. The Digital Read out for oxygen concentration should be ± 0.1%. The test cabinet should consist of heat resistant glass tube ID = 75 – 100 mm and 500 mm height. Machine should have digital display, specimen holder, uniform combustion atmosphere and Flame ignitor. There should be provision for complete mixing of nitrogen and oxygen in a special dispersion chamber and glass bead bed before entering column. Gas measuring and controlling devices must be there. Adjustment of oxygen and nitrogen flow must be automatic to achieve the desired oxygen concentration. Twin gas flow meters with control needle valves, certified calibration to ±0.05%. must be available. Twin gas pressure gauges (0-100 psi) to be provided. Instrument should be suitable for testing of polymers, foams, rubbers, fibers, films, FRP products, composites etc. Chimney gas dispersion chamber with glass bead bed should be available. All necessary control valves, flow meters and filters must be built in. Quoted rates must include hard copies of operational and service manual. Machine should come with all other essential accessories and spares required for installation, commissioning and operation. Filled oxygen and nitrogen cylinders with good quality regulator as required must be provided. Minimum 1 year warranty to be provided.
