REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE OF EARTHING INFRASTRUCTURES AT AFS THANJAVUR

Material and labour for maintenance free chemical earthing comprising of one No chemical earthing will have specification as follows:- (a) Copper electrode of wall thickness minimum 2mm not less than 3m length with not less than 50mm outer dia including copper strip of size 50 x 6mm minimum 2m long connected with 50mm dia copper electrode. (b) Fixing of copper earth electrode by drilling / boring 175mm dia hole 5m deep in any type of strata, placing electrode along with extention earth strip 50 x 6mm 2 mts long and mixing earthing soil resitivity improvement compound Gel / powder (Terralon) min 10 KG per bore and 75 KG soil resistivity improvement compound (Electrodite) mixing homogeneously as per manufacturer instruction. (c) FRP earthing display board 254 x 380mm made out of plasic material showing information related to type of earthing, earthing result, due date of testing along with fixing size 610mm height made of plastic hollow pipe of 20mm dia. (d) PCC earthing pit in PCC 1:2:4 type B-1 of internal size 300mm x 300mm x 300mm with 120mm thick wall and 700mm x 70mm x 150mm thick bed concrete and 50mm thick precast chamber cover of RCC 1:2:4 type B1 for reinfoced with welded steel wire fabric or XPM Jali (weight not less than 4.00 kg/Sqm), complete all as shown in electrical plate No -3 of SSR part - I complete. (e) Contractor must visit the site before quoting the tender to understand the difficulty and cost for carrying out the job in the station. It is important that contractor ascertain the quantum of work.

(b) Fixing of GI earth electrode by drilling/ boring 175mm dia hole 5.00 mtr deep in any type of strata, placing electrode along with extention earth strip 50 x 6mm 2 mts long and mixing earthing soil resitivity improvement compound Gel/Powder (Terralon) min 10 KG per bore and 75 KG soil resistivity improvement compound (Electrodite) mixing homogeneously as per manufacturer instruction. (c) FRP earthing display board 254 x 380mm made out of plasic material showing information related to type of earthing, earthing result, due date of testing along with fixing size 610mm height made of plastic hollow pipe of 20mm dia. Supply and pouring Earthing soil resitivity improvement compound Gel (Power plus Gel / Terralon) enhancement compound transparent liquid Gel or black powder in 10 kg packing all as specified and directed.

M & L for providing earthing with copper earth plate electrode 600 X 600 X 3.15mm buried directly in ground (earth pit not less than 2.25m deep below ground level ) with top edge of the earth plate not less than 1.5m below ground level connected to copper strip 25 x 3mm thick for earthing lead fixed by means of nuts,bolt,washers etc.of copper / brass connected to earth test point complete all as specified in electrical plate No 3 of SSR1996 part 1 ,including salt charcoal dust and necessary excavation and earth work in any strata of soil,GI water pipe with 20mm dia.funnel & wire mesh PCC pit with CI cover and frame etc complete all as specified and directed.

M&L earth continuity conductor or main earthing lead fixed to wall on batten or recess or chases or buried in ground or drawn in conduit/pipe or fixed to poles or any other indicated situation for loop earthing etc as required 25 x 3mm copper strip including fixing arrengment like epoxy insulatos on wall/pole etc. complete all as specified and directed. Note:- All the joints shall be made with brazing to get proper conductivity.

Excavation in trenches in soft/loose soil not exc. 1.5m wide and not exc. 1.5m in depth and getting out for taking up / laying under ground electric cable or for pole etc complete all as specified and as directed. Note :- Mechanical excavation is not allowed in this station only manual excavation allowed.

Returning, filling in, including spreading levelling watering and well ramming in layers not exceeding 25cm in depth in soft / loose soil complete all as specified and as directed.

Removing surplus soils to a distance not exceeding 50m and depositing where directed at a level not exc. 1.5m above the starting point all complete as specified and as directed.
