suitable method (SN curve etc.) depending on the physical metallurgical properties of the materials including laboratory tests and submission of report. (iii) Measurement, analysis and submission of report of various load coming on bearings. 1(b) (To be done twice, once in summer season and another in winter season) (i) Measurement, analysis and submission of report of dynamic deflection/strains at various critic allocations of the superstructure and piers/abutments. (ii) Measurement, analysis and submission of report of dynamic acceleration and analysis to obtain the dynamic characteristics of the superstructure. (iii Measurement, analysis and submission of report of tilt/deflections of piers/abutments. (iv) Measurement, analysis and submission of reports of temperature at top and bottom of superstructure for estimation of temperature stresses using numerical model. 1(c) Perform numerical structural modification studies to determine cost effective rehabilitation/strengthening scheme design and drawings for bridges where instrumentation analysis indicates abnormality in the structure. (NOTE:-Work will be carried out as per special condition of contract). SPECIALCONDITION:- A.Pre-testingphase:- I.Detailed finite element modeling of the bridge based on the technical data available using MIDAS,ANSYS/NISA packages. II.Preparation of sensor layout for all the tests in consultation with design engineer of Railways. B.Bridge, track and approaches inspection: Records of geometric and sectional details of bridges &assessment of condition of trackand its approaches for the test span. C.Bridge instrumentation and data collection: i.Instrumentation of Bridge as perapproved sensor layout cataloguing all the details of sensor placements. ii. Conducting of tests as per BS-1068 to studythe static andynamicbehaviour of thetest span of bridge under a standard load formation. ili.Data collection for recording fornormal traffic was shall be donefor selected trainof (selection oftrain shall bedone by Enginer-In-Charge /; as perrolling stock) the bridge response for duration of 72hours. D. Post data collection phase and submission of reports: i.Updation of Finite Element Modelbased on the data collected through instrumentation and assessment of the ability ofthe bridge tocarry higher axle loads. ii. Residuallife assessment studies as perBS-91. ili.Preparation and submission of preliminary reports. Final report submission incorporating comments. (NOTE:-Work will becarried out as perspecial conditionof contract)(Note for Unit:-One job means all activities for instrumentation at one bridge). Mode of payment-1.On Approval of Methodology/ scheme 10%. 2.On Completion of Data collection for First Season 20%. 3. On Data analysis and furnishing of final report (First Season report duly proof checked by IIT and subsequently approved by the Railways) 25%. 4.On Completion of Data collection for Second Season 20%. 5.On Data analysis and furnishing of final report with respect to the subject bridge for (Second Season report duly proof checked by IIT and subsequently approved by the Railways) 25%.
