Routine Maintenance of Track - To carryout daily, weekly, monthly routine/ breakdown maintenance of rail track of MGR system including track on bridge etc. as per Rly./ RDSO recommendation (86.529 Kms/Month). This will include following works:--

Daily examination of complete track, points & crossings and tightening their fittings and their replacement, if any.

Replacement of the demaged/ missing fittings.

Picking up slakes and packing of sleepers with existing ballast.

Squaring of sleepers and removal of uneven spacing.

Gauging of track / rail crossing.

Shallow screening and making up of ballast section after opening of track where-ever required.

Alignment of track by lifting / lowering and correcting longitudinal cross level and final alignment.

Realignment of curves.

Maintenance of points and crossings with their accessories.

Maintenance of proper crossing gauge on the check rails and it's adjustment to the correct profile.

Adjustment of creeps and expansion gaps of joints by pulling back of rail and providing anti creep bearing plates/ creep archer to prevent further creeping.

Maintenance of level crossings.

Maintenance of posts curves.

Removal of all track defects like high joint blowing and pumping joint, longitudinal sag in the track, centre bound sleeper.

Maintenance of the meter/ KM/ curve/ signal post lying along MGR track (Post shall be supplied by the department i.e. Nigam free of cost).

Emergency maintenance of track hopper/ Kakari silo/ Khadia silo / wharf-wall loading point/ track during dislocation or derail- ment on the track.

Daily checking and tightening of the all bolts and nuts, two way keys and other fittings on the track.

Schedule maintenance of track and other civil works.

Grouting of inserts with eppoxy compound and quartz sand at track hopper , Kakari and Khadia silo, MGR workshop or wherever required including all epoxy material quartz sand, T&P and labour etc. Epoxy compound shall be CIBA or Dr Beck or equivalent make.

Replacement of broken/ damaged rail, glued joints and points including to and fro transportation from yards.

Replacement of crossings including to and fro transportation from yards. - 1 in 8.5

Lubrication of fish plate, its nuts & bolts after unscrewing the same and including tightening after lubrication (one job shall be considered as one unit.

Cleaning of track from grass & vegetation including uprooting of rank vegetation, bush wood, trees & sapling and disposal of garbage out side the track area as directed by the Engineer-in- charge including all leads & lifts (DSR code 2.32). Quantity taken for 2 times in a year : 02 Years X(63700 m + 22829 m =86529 m track length) X 4.0 m (width) X 2 times = 1384464 sqm.

Cleaning of MGR track from muds, land slides, fallen tree and disposal of earth/rubbish outside the track area as directed by the Engineer-in-charge up to a lead of 2 km including all leads & lifts of 10 M by mechanical transport including dressing the disposed earth neatly.

Earth work in excavation over areas (excluding 30 cm in depth, 1.5 m in width as well as 10 sq.m on plan including transportation of excavated earth and filling in rain cuts fissures cess repair on formation level in layers not exceeding 20 cm. In depth, consoli - dation each layer by remaining and watering including all leads & lifts (payment shall be made by measurement of borrow pits).

Through packing of track ballast including opening of track, squaring of sleepers, aligning of track and dressing includes all labour, T&P etc. complete. Quantity calculated as per norms of IndianRailways Permanent way manual for maintenance of track: 02 Years X (63700 m - 6000 m = 57700 m + 22829 m - 4500 m = 18329 m ) = 152058 m.

Deep screening of the stone ballast by opening the track, deep screening, lying and through packing, levelling, aligning and commissioning the track with all materials, labour and T&P required for proper completion of the work as per specifications.

Painting of the caution marks and the boards with synthetic enamel paint of first quality including a coat of primer on new work (DSR code 13.62.1).

Lettering with black Japan paint of approved brand & manufacturer (DSR code 13.71).

Providing and laying cement concrete in footing and bases of columns excluding the cost of centering & shuttering. (DSR code 4.1) - (a) 1:2:4 (1 cement:2 coarse sand:4 graded stone aggregate 20 mm nominal size (DSR code 4.1.3).
