PART I : CIVIL WORKS

Carrying out Visual inspection of various buildings both externally and internally, assessing the condition of RCC members such as columns, beams, slab / ceiling, chajja, facia, terrace, staircase, mumty, machine room, overhead water tank, PH shaft etc. w.r.t. cracks, corrosion of reinforcement, spalling of concrete, deflection / sagging / buckling, leakage / seepage / dampness, vegetation growth, settlement of plinth / footing / ground floor etc., condition of expansion joint, terrace waterproofing etc., providing colour photographs of the above with illustration including drawing / sketch showing location & level of distressed members, description of building with history, all complete as per instructions of Engineer-in-charge. Also includes preperation of as-built structural drawings showing location of existing RCC Columns , beams, slabs, brickwalls, partitions, roofing arragement including elevations & sections. This shall include 1 main building and 2 ancillary buildings.

Carrying out Non-Destructive / Semi-Destructive tests as mentioned below at all levels and locations, including erecting scaffolding, hoists, tools, equipments, instruments, material, labour etc. wherever necessary, removing existing plaster, exposing concrete surface in RCC columns, beams, slabs, chajjas etc. carefully by mechanical dry cutter, removing existing corrosion manually / mechnaically in reinforcement steel by means of light tapping etc. without causing any damage to existing structure including preparation of surfaces by grinding, applying POP etc. as per relevant BIS standards or ASTM / BS / AS standards / established literature (if relevant BIS standard is not yet published) complete all as directed by the Engineer-in-charge.

Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity (USPV) test - Prepare the surface (area of approx. 150 x 150 mm) of RCC structural members such as columns, beams, slabs etc. by chipping the plastered surface / finishing / cladding to expose the concrete, smoothen the area using carborandum stone and conduct Ultrasonic pulse velocity test all as per IS 516: part 5: Sec 1: 2018 Note: - a) Direct USPV test shall be carried out preferably b) For each Indirect USPV test, series of measurements shall be taken by placing transmitting transducer at fixed point and receiving transducer at fixed increments along chosen line on the surface (minimum three location of receiving transducer) all as per Annex A of IS 516: part 5: Sec 1: 2018

Rebound Hammer test - Prepare the surface (area of approx. 200 x 200mm) of RCC structural members such as columns, beams, slabs etc. by chipping the plastered surface / finishing / cladding to expose the concrete, smoothen the area using carborandum stone and conduct Rebound hammer test, all as per IS 516: part 5: Sec 4: 2020 Note: - Set of 10 readings shall be taken at each test location, out of which abnormally high & abnormally low values shall be discarded and average of balanced readings shall be taken as final value (Individual reading which vary more than ±20% of average will be considered as abnormally high / low value)

Half-cell potential test - Prepare the surface of RCC structural members such as columns, beams, slabs etc. to expose the reinforcement steel, clean the area with blower / wire brush and carry out half-cell potential test conforming to IS 516: part 5: sec 2: 2021 for measuring the level of corrosion of reinforcement steel in the RCC member including analysis of the test results

Carbonation depth test - Prepare the surface of RCC structural members such as columns, beams, slabs, water tank walls & slab etc. by chipping the plastered surface / finishing / cladding to expose the concrete, drilling / cutting etc., measure carbonation depth using phenolphthalein of specified concentration, all conforming to IS 516: part 5: sec 3 -2021, including calculating ratio of carbonation depth to cover thickness so as to check intensity of carbonation attack on reinforcement Note: - Minimum three specimens shall be taken at each test location and average depth of carbonation shall be calculated and recorded

Cover meter test - Locate the bar accurately and assess the clear cover of concrete to the bar in RCC structural members such as columns, beams & slabs Note: - Minimum three readings shall be taken at each test location and their average shall be calculated and recorded

Chemical analysis of concrete

a) Alkalinity test (pH value)

b) Chloride content - Water soluble Chloride content (in percent) by mass of concrete shall be determined as per IS 516: part 12, if published, otherwise IS:14959: part 2: 2001

c) Sulphate content - Sulfate content in concrete shall be determined by Nitric acid extraction method as per AS1012.20.1:2016
