Specification for double distillation equipment The unit will be fully automatic distillation equipment and microprocessor controlled with LCD display and audible alarm for unsupervised operation. The distillate temperature shall be maintained around 25 to 45°C. There shall be cooling water recirculation from the condenser into the boiling chamber to save energy. There shall be inline prefiltration softener unit to reduce the hardness to the feed water so scaling may be reduced. Material of construction: Glass unit except boiling chamber: 3.3 exp borosilicate glass. Boiling chamber: Quartz Heater: Silica Sheath (Quartz) heater fitted in horizontal jacket. Body and stand: Powder coated MS Boiler shall be provided with Teflon screw cork for easy draining and cleaning of boiling chamber. The front cover of the distillation enclosure must be easily removable making the access to the glass parts very easy. Electrical Power: 220/240 V, 50/60Hz, Single Phase Supply Capacity: 2 ltr per hour Prefiltration Softener: The softener shall remove calcium and magnesium ions in hard water and the soft water thus obtained feed water of hardness less than 5 ppm as CaCO3. The softener shall be specially designed for easy serviceability and recharging the resin with sodium chloride solution. Safety Features: Gate Valve: Conserves cooling water wastage in case of power failure. Flow Switch: Additional in-built safety feature for the equipment unit shut off in case of cooling water failure. Temperature switch: The boiler is equipped with a safety temperature switch which shuts off the unit if water level in the boiler falls below the heater, thus saving the glass parts from any damages. Level Sensor: It shuts off the distillation equipment if the water level in the boiler falls below the heater. Reservoir Level Sensor: this helps in automatic working of the water distillation equipment. Depending on the water level in the reservoir it will automatically switch On/Off the equipment, thus saving energy.
