REPAIR / REPLACEMENT TO FILTER MEDIA AND MISC WORKS AT DIFFERENT FILTRATION PLANT OF PRIMARY PUMP HOUSE UNDER GE (U) BATHINDA.

Amount

Cleaning of Gravity feed filter bed chambers of capacity of 65000 Gallons per hour by taking out carefully complete sand and Gravel layers, including taking out mud & sludge and filter media from sludge channel and removing the same where as directed by Engineer-in-charge . After taking out the old Filter media such as gravel from filter bed and sludge channel, the complete filter plant shall be washed and cleaned throughly with clean water and bleaching powder and including cleaning and drilling the holes of existing CI pipe and painting of the same with black bituminious paint and necessory minor repairs of pipe and cleaning of clear water channel and two coat of white wash at inner surface of filter beds. After proper cleaning, washing and painting, the filter beds shall be repacked with the new filter media in different layers and testing of entire filteration plant after repacking of new filter media complete all as specified and as per direction of Engineer-in-charge. Location of work- Filteration Plant No. 3 (Approx size of each Bed - 6.5m x 8.5m x 1.3m)

All as per serial item No. 01 above but for cleaning of Gravity feed filter bed chambers of capacity of 50000 Gallons per hour. Location of work- Filteration Plant No. 4 (Approx size of each Bed - 6.2m x 7.7m x 1.3m)

All as per serial item No. 01 above but for cleaning of Gravity feed filter bed chambers of capacity of 7.50 Lakh Gallons per day. Location of work- Filteration Plant No. 1&2 Note for serial No. 01 to 03 :- (i) After taking out old filter media from filter bed shall be disposed of filteration plant vide schedule of credit as per direction of Engr-in-charge and nothing shall be paid extra on this account. (ii) New filter media shall be measured and paid under serial item No. 04, 05, 06 , 07 and 08 of BOQ under supply only. (iii) Cost of labour and T&P for repacking of filter bed with new filter media in different layers is deemed to be included in this item and nothing shall be paid extra on this account. (iv) Cost of labour and material for cleaning of sludge channel, clear water channel, filter bed and filteration plant and painting of CI pipe and filter beds is deemed to be included in this item and nothing shall be paid extra on this account.

Supply only washed and cleaned filter media gravel in accordance with IS 8419 Part-I, hard and preferably rounded with average specific gravity not less than 2.5 free from clay , sand, loam and organic impurities of any kind , acid solubilty not more than 10.00% for gravel of size 20mm to 40mm for rapid gravity feed filter complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-charge.

Supply only washed and cleaned filter media gravel in accordance with IS 8419 Part-I, hard and preferably rounded with average specific gravity not less than 2.5 free from clay , sand, loam and organic impurities of any kind , acid solubilty not more than 10.00% for gravel of size 12 mm to 20mm for rapid gravity feed filter complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-charge.

Supply only washed and cleaned filter media gravel in accordance with IS 8419 Part-I, hard and preferably rounded with average specific gravity not less than 2.5 freee from clay , sand, loam and organic impurities of any kind , acid solubilty not more than 10.00% for gravel of size 6 mm to 12mm for rapid gravity feed filter complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-charge.

Supply only washed and cleaned filter media gravel in accordance with IS 8419 Part-I, hard and preferably rounded with average specific gravity not less than 2.5 freee from clay , sand, loam and organic impurities of any kind , acid solubilty not more than 10.00% for gravel of size 2 mm to 6mm for rapid gravity feed filter complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-charge.

Supply only filter media comprising of filter sand, in accordance with IS : 8419 Part-I, average specific gravity not less than 2.5, uniformity coefficient less than 1.5, silica content tested in accordance with IS : 2000, any sample of filter sand shall not contain more than 5 percent by volume of impurities, such as clay, loam, silt, loss in ignition not more than 0.70 % Acid solublity not more than 5.00% , particle size 0.45mm to 0.65mm complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-charge. Notes for Serial item No 1.00 to 8.00 of BOQ (i) Precautions shall be taken for safety of workmen working inside the filter bed and Contractor is fully responsible for providing necessary safety equipments and nothing shall be paid extra on this account. (ii) The contractor shall be liable to pay for any type of compensation to the workers , in case of accident / injuries & other mishappening occured during working time . (iii) Size of filter media gravel in different layers shall be procured after approvel of sample by GE (iv) Contractor shall submit the test reports of filter media for serial item No 04 to 08 of mentioned properties in description of serial item No 04 to 08 from any Govt recognized laboratory before commencement of work and nothing shall be paid extra on this account.

Opening the top of unserviceable flat sheet valve 600 mm to 450 mm dia and taking out complete assembly from open inlet channel of filtratioin plant and repairing the same including replacement with new spindle with check nut, gate valve, ring , gland etc including replacement of worn out nuts, bolts gasket etc with new nuts, bolts gasket etc and refixing the same in original poistion after repairs and testing the same complete all as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.

All as per serial item No. 09 above but for flat sheet valve 350 mm to 200 mm dia

Supply and fixing in replacement 300 mm dia sluice valve , ISI marked PN 1.0 confirming to IS-14846-2000, both end flanged ,drilled , steel spindle and iron wheel handle , CI gate with MS ring complete including jointing material such as nuts, bolts, washers and rubber sheet etc complete all as directed.

All as per serial item No. 11 above but for 125 mm dia sluice valve. Make for serial No. 11 & 12: KIRLOSKAR / LEADER / L&T /UPADHYA / ZOLOTO

Supply and fixing spindle of sluice valve 300 mm dia including nuts, bolts, washers and rubber sheet after taking out the unserviceable spindle by opening the top of sluice valve complete all as specified and directed.

Supply and fixing spindle of sluice valve 250/200 mm dia including nuts, bolts, washers and rubber sheet after taking out the unserviceable spindle by opening the top of sluice valve complete all as specified and directed.

Material and labour preparation of old painted steel and iron surfaces of any description over 10 cm in width or girth and applying two coat of synthetic enamel paint of approved tint complete all as specified and as directed by Engineer-in charge.

Repair to alum dozing system of filtration plant including replacement of complete stirrer system along with vertical power transmit shaft, bewel gear arrangement and MS angle iron base as per site requirement including two coats of synthetic ename paint over a coat of red oxide primer complete all as directed.

Taking down existing 150 mm / 200 mm dia CI/ DI pipe approx 3 to 4 mtr long from suction side of pumpset carefully and transport to workshop and making new threads after cutting of part of wornout threads and replacing with of new flange of suitable size and refixing the same after assemble of existing non return valve / foot valve at suction side of the pumpset complete all as directed.

M&L for MS work as in Gate , fancing , plate form, Frame, clamps/base frames made out of angle iron and other section as required including cutting welding riveting, providing locking arrangement and applying two coats of synthetic enamel paint over a coat of red oxide primer on steel surfaces complete all as directed.

Dismantling the air blower of any capacity, 1440 RPM, reciprocating type from the foundation and drain of comressor oil carefully and disconnecting electric motor connection and earthing etc and transportation to civil workshop for repairing, opening the air blower and removing of defective piston rings, bearings and cleaning of piston and boring of cylinder if required and reassembling the complete air blower after replacement of bearing and piston rings and comressor oil and re-fixing at site and reassebmling with electric motor, earthing and testing the air blower on full load at site up to entire satisfaction of Engineer-in-charge complete all as directed. Note: The compressor oil and spares required shall be measured and paid separately as supply only under respective item.

Supply only piston with set of piston liner and piston rings for each cylinder of air blower capacity - 840 CFM complete all as directed.

Supply only ball bearing No. 6308 for air blower complete all as directed.

Supply only comressor oil complete all as directed.

Relaying, de-silting and cleaning the sludge pipe line from flocculator of FP No. 04 og depth not exceeding 1 metre and removing silt 50 metre away from outer edge of primary pump house manually including the construction the brick chamber complete all as directed. Note: The cost of earth work is included in the quoted rate of this item.

Dismantling of floor hearth or wall tiling including cement mortar bedding ( but not backing) and rubbish off the permices complete all as specified and directed.

Cleaning of RCC surface by removing dust, loose particles, etc with compressed air or any other suitable technique depending on site conditions, grinding any sharp edges, complete all as directed.

M&L for filling ready mix Polymer Modified Mortar (PMM) in grooves of any depth of bricks wall joints and construction joint coving should be made by PMM. PMM shall have compressive strength >= 50 N/sqmm (28 days) according to ASTM C 109; flexural strength >= 5N/ sqmm (7 days) according to ASTM C 293-79. M&L for applying solvent free, moisture insensitive epoxy resin based patch repair putty on vertical surfaces. The putty shall be applied to a thickness of minimum 20 mm on pipe penetration joint to concrete Product: Sikagard®-694 F (I) Yield: 0.6 ltr/kg. Product requirements: suitable for submerged condition; compressive strength of 40 N/mm2 (1 day) according to IS 9162-1979.
