CERTAIN REPAIR TO CHAJJA AND ROOF TREATMENT AIR FORCE STATION CHANDIGARH UNDER GE (AF) CHANDIGARH.

Note :The unit rate quoted by the tenderer under Col No (13) of Sch `A’ (BOQ) unless specifically mentioned otherwise such as labour only/fixing only, for all items of works shall be deemed to be including cost of all materials, labour, tools and plants, testing and commissioning of work in position complete as required for entire completion of work.

Material and labour, cleaning the new or old pastered or concrete surfaces and water proofing treatment of roof horizontal surfaces consisting as under:- (i) Remove existing water proofing treatment including brick/concrete tile ,Mud phuska etc.including removing the retrieved material to a place earmarked by civic body, Picking, sweeping clean and washing down with water to remove dust. While doing the treatment on existing roof, concrete should be thoroughly inspected for any significant distress. Such distress, if any repaired/rehabilitated and treated.Existing Pipes over roof should be realigned as directed by the Engineer-in -Charge. (ii) Providing and laying/fixing TPO (Thermoplastic Polyolefin) waterproofing membrane (min 1.2mm thickness) on prepared surface of roof & up to 300 mm of parapets and crumple joint including junction of roof and parapet. Method: TPO membrane is mechanically anchored in the roof deck using fasteners and washers, which are then overlapped with TPO membrane and heat welded. The overlap completely encapsulates the fastener, which is not exposed to any external weathering – ensuring no water, heat seeps into the insulated panel. The roof edges of the building are covered with TPO edge trims, mechanically anchored and heat welded with TPO on top – thus completely encapsulating the system, preventing any wind from blowing beneath the TPO or roof. (b) Sample patch of 10Sqm be prepared considering all the items of Roof treatment and shall be got approved from GE prior to carrying out further work. (c) The work shall be carried out completely as per manufacturer’s specifications and application methodology. Execution to be done with authorized trained/skilled applicator of manufacturer as per the technical guide lines laid by manufacturer. Contd/---

Contd item No 1 above/---- (d) The Contractor shall submit ink Signed copy of "Memoradum of Understanding" (MOU) with at least one of the manufacturers mentioned in the contract for the approval of Garrison Engineer before commencement of work within one month of Acceptance of tender . If MOU not submitted within specified period penalty @ 5% shall be leived upon contractor and if further delay will continue than his contract will liable be cancelled at his default as per the contract provision . (e) The defect liability period of water proofing treatment to RCC roof slab including sunken floors shall be 10 years and the contractor shall be responsible to keep the entire building(s) free from leakage/seepage for a period of 10 years after certified date of completion. The contractor shall obtain similar guarantee from the specialist firm engaged by him for the purpose to be given by after completion of Water Proofing work before payment . (f) An amount equal to 5.0% worked out on the cost of waterproofing treatment at contract rates towards guarantee shall be retained from the Final Bill as specified in P. S, Cluase no3.3 of CA. (g) The quoted rate shall deemed to be included for necessary temporary arrangement of water supply from existing connection to toilets, bathrooms and kitchen for convenience of the occupants staying in quarters until completion of entire roof treatment and no any extra payment (h) Dismantled material should be removed manually using stair all as directed by Engineer-in-Charge. (j) Roof padding will be paid separately against respective item of BOQ.

Plain cement concrete (1:2:4) type B-1 using 20 mm graded mechanically crushed stone aggregates as in roof padding to maintain the required slope or to prepare gola etc icluding weathering slightly ropunded or chamfered angles and throating as directed including necessary form work in and including demolition of (un-reinforced) cement concrete of any description or as roof padding and coveringg concrete in any position not otherwise specifically provided for including removing the retrieved material to a place earmarked by civic body, complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-Charge. Note:- (i) Dismantled material should be removed manually using stair all as directed by Engineer-in-Charge.

Steel water tubing, 15 mm bore medium grade ISI Marked, galvanized with all fittings and fixed complete to walls, ceiling or laid in floors,cutting existing steel tubing & screwing, if required for alterations and additions in and including taking up or down existing unservicable tubing and connections, cleaning for re fixing or removal to store, complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-Charge. Note: Fittings & specials as required shall be provided by the contractor. Contractor's rate shall be deemed to include the cost of fittings provided.

Steel water tubing, 20 mm bore medium grade ISI Marked , galvanized with all fittings and fixed complete to walls, ceiling or laid in floors ,cutting existing steel tubing & screwing, if required for alterations and additions in and including taking up or down existing unservicable tubing and connections, cleaning for re fixing or removal to store, complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-Charge. Note: Fittings & specials as required shall be provided by the contractor. Contractor's rate shall be deemed to include the cost of fittings provided.

Rotational moulded PVC, tripple layered, water storage tanks of capacity 500 litre (cylindrical vertical with closed top), ISI Marked, hoisted and fixed in position, with & including all fittings such as GI tank nipple etc. in and including ball valve high pressure of PTMT with epoxy coated aluminium door and high density plastic ball screwed for 20mm dia iron pipe and fixed (minimum wieght 20mm 210gms in and including dismantling PVC water tanks exc 250 ltr but n. exc 500 ltr capacity by disconnecting existing water connection and removal from site ,complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in- Charge.

Disconnecting existing tanks of capacity exceeding 250ltrs but n. exceeding 500ltrs, draining out of water, setting a side( or lowering if required) for repair/cleaning and removing accumulated sluge/dirt scales from tank bottom, side and from mouths of circulating pipes of service tanks located on roof of building and disinfecting the tank using bleaching powder to make the tank bacteria free, writing by stencil date of cleaning of tank with white synthetic enemel paint on black ground "Cleaned on (date)" height of words100mm, and hoisting if required, refixing and reconnecting in position after cleaning including removing the retrieved material to a place earmarked by civic body, complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-Charg

PVC (SWR) pipes 110 mm bore single socketed in any length with ruber rings joints fixed to walls with necessary brackets and making good the mouth of rain water pipe in and including taking down old eaves and gutters and rainwater pipe ( any size and pattern) ,complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in- Charge.

PVC (SWR) bends any radius 110mm bore fixed with solvent cement in any position as per site requirement fixed as in repair, complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-Charge.

Cleaning and preparation of roof (RCC/Brick tiles/Cement concrete) surface and made free of dirt, foreign particles, laitance followed by grinding all protrusions to make surface modulated. There after, inspection for cracks on the surface caused by thermal expantion contraction and repairing the cracks after making “V” groove with suitable cutter machine, filled with Repair Morter/General Purpose Grout in the proportions as recommended by manufacturer,. Supplying and applying High performance Hybrid Polyurea elastomeric waterproofing coating cold applied of spray applied liquid membrane with following specifications: (a) Elongation of range 400%-600% (b) Tensile strength of 8-12 N/mm2 (c) Crack bridging ability of 3.00- 4.00 mm (d) Hardness (Shore’A’, ASTM D2240) of range 50-70 The application shall include final base preparation, epoxy primer application in rato 1:1 (resin:hardner) with 100% water dilution and application of Hybrid ployurea in two coats in 6 hrs interval to achieve total min thickness 1 to 1.50 mm at a total min consumption of 1.5 kg per Sqm.The application/treatment shall be carried out by authorised applicator of approved specialist firm/manufacturer by Graco sprayer.Company back warranty of 15 years is to be given by company after completion of Water Proofing work before payment.High performance Hybrid Polyurea elastomeric waterproofing coating of Smart Care Ultron. Resin is one of the components of Ultron Primer, which is two components water-based epoxy system, it is classified as SR-B2, 0 according to EN 13813, having properties like color of pale yellow, viscosity 900mPa.s, density 1.15kg/l and adhesion of >3N/mm2. Hardener is one of the components of PU Magnum Primer, which is a two-component water-based epoxy system, It is classified as SR-B2, 0 according to EN 13813, having properties like color of pale yellow, viscosity 37000mPa.s, density 1.08kg/l & adhesion of >3N/mm2.' Makes:-Asian Paints Smart Care/ Thermax/Grace SIKA/FOSROC /Berger.

'Smart Care Damp Proof Ultra, fiber reinforced elastomeric liquid waterproofing membrane formulated with PU hybrid polymers and reinforcing acrylic fibers with Sun Reflectivity Index (SRI) of 105 on top of roof in four coats @ 2 Kg/sqmt to be reinforced, having minimum elongation of 350%, tensile strength 2.9Mpa and shall have crack bridging ability of up to 2.5mm and shall resist 10 bars of hydrostatic pressure, reduces surfaces temperature up to 10 degree Celsius also IGBC certified (Indian Green Building Council) Certificate will be provided by company. The system consists of self-priming with 33% water dilution followed by two undiluted coats of Damp Proof ultra, the fiber mesh of 40 to 50 GSM must be sandwich between 1st and 2nd coat of Damp Proof Ultra. (dry film thickness of complete application/system not less than 500 microns) and Ponding test to be done after application of material.Company back warranty of 10 years is to be given by company after completion of Water Proofing work before payment. Surface Preparation: Existing Surfaces must be clean, even, and sound concrete. Remove oil, dirt, laitance & mud phuska. Crack treatment: Cutting and opening cracks to a depth of 10x10 mm V or U Shape by mechanical means. Cleaning al the dirt and loose particles by air pressure and wetting crack to attain SSD condition. filling the crack using Repair Polymer modified cement mortar. Bore Packing: Using AP Smartcare Repair Polymer over pipe and Internal side of concrete followed by filing high strength non shrink grout for a gap of up to 20mm (between pipe and concrete) before treating the surface with Waterproofing layer.'The application should be done by company's authorised applicator as per manufacturer instruction.
