Vee Bee Consistometer : As per IS119 consisting of vibrating table 380mm long and 260mm wide. Resting upon elastic support at a height of about 305mm above the floor. Metacentric Height Apparatus : Consisting of a pontoon allowed to float in a small tank having a transparent side. Removable steel strip placed in the model for the purpose of changing the weight of the model. Displacement of weight to be measured with the help of a scale. By means of a pendulum (consisting of a weight suspended to a long pointer) the angle of tilt to be measured on a graduated arc. For tilting the ship model, a cross bar with two movable hangers should be fixed on the model. Pendulum and graduated arc shall be suitably fixed at the center of the cross bar. A set of weights is to be supplied with the apparatus.

Reynold's Apparatus : Consisting of a glass tube with one end having bell mouth entrance connected to a constant head water tank and at the other end a valve provided to vary the flow rate. The tank should be of sufficient capacity to store water for conducting the test. A capillary tube should be provided centrally in the bell mouth for feeding dye from a small container placed at the top of tank, through polythene tubing. By varying the rate of flow, the Reynold's number should change and the type of flow. Visual observation of dye(Thread) shall indicate the type of flow, which can be confirmed from the Reynold's number computed. Setup shall be self contained water re-circulating unit, provided with a sump tank and a centrifugal pump etc. Flow control valve and by pass valve to be fitted in water line. Flow rate of water shall be measured with the help of measuring cylinder and stop watch provided.

Apparatus for determination of Discharge Through Venturimeter and Orificemeter : The apparatus should consist of two pipelines emerging out from a common manifold. One pipe line contain a Venturimeter, second contains an Orificemeter. The pressure tapings from the Venturimeter and Orificemeter shall be taken to differential manometer to measure pressure difference. The Venturimeter, Orificemeter to be connected in parallel and any one of them can be put in operation by operating valves provided at the downstream. Apparatus shall be self-contained water re-circulating unit, provided with a sump tank and a centrifugal pump. Flow control valve and by-pass valve shall be fitted in water line to conduct the experiment on different flow rates. Flow rate of water shall measured with the help of measuring tank & stop watch provided. Mercury required for differential manometer shall also be provided.
