M & L for Preparing old bituminous surfaces by brushing with wire brushes for removing caked mud etc . sweeping with brooms and finally fanning the cleaned surface compressed air through mechanical means to remove all loose dirt etc, and providing Premix Dense Asphaltic Concrete DAC) with grading 1 of IRC minimum 50mm thick (consolidated thickness) in single layer using bitumen of grade PMB-40 with 5.4% minimum binder content (Marshal stability 1200 Kg) mixed by weight of total mix using hot mix plant spread, rolled and consolidated to required gradient and camber complete using necessary mechanical sensor paver and tandem vibratory roller of capacity exceeding 8 tonne but not exceeding 12 tonne capacity over tack coat of Paving Bitumen VG-10 @ 2kg/10 SqM complete all as specified and as directed. Note:- (a) No price adjustment shall be applicable if excess quantity of binder content is used / approved in the execution of work under this item. (b) Cement shall be used as filler as per job mix formula (c) The marshall stability shall be a minimum of 1200 kg. (d) DAC shall be as per MORTH specifications as detailed in particular specifications. (e) The rate quoted shall also include for correction layer if any required to make even surface.

Demolition of unreinforced cement concrete in any position not other wise specifically provided for (PQC as in dispersals and Taxi Tracks) complete all as specified and directed.
Removal of demolished PQC obtained from item no 4 above, to outside MD land at a distance exceeding 1.5 km but not exceeding 5 km at any place not objected by the civil authorities. (Note: Contractor has to find / locate the place where disposal of demolished PQC to be carried out in consulation with the local authorities prior to quoting. Nothing extra will be payable for any increase of distance)
Excavation over areas not exceeding 1.5 mtr deep and getting out in hard / dense soil .
M&L for 300 mm thick granular sub base of grading all as specified, GSB V as per Morth Table 400-I over compacted subgrade spread rolled and consolidated to gradient and camber required by grader and rolled by vibratory roller to achieve required densiy in two layers of 150 mm each.
M&L for wet mix macadam (WMM) 150 mm thick (compacted thickness) in two layers 75 mm each with granite stone coarse aggregate of specified grade spread using mechnical paver as specified rolled and consolidated using 8 to 10 tonne capacity vibratory roller to required gradient and camber all as specified and directed.
M&L for 100 mm compacted thickness dry lean concrete (DLC) with 7 days compressive strength 10 mpa by paver rolling as specified and directed.The minimum cement content shall be 180kg/cum. Note:The tenderers are advised to note that if the cement contents works out to be less than the above specified minimum cement contents as mentioned hereinbefore, then the above specified minimum cement contents have to be incorporated and in case cement contents works out to be more than the above specified minimum cement contents ,then the cement as per design mix shall be provided without any extra cost to the department.
M&L for 10 mm thick (compacted) sand filling under floor/foundation and consolidation complete all as specified and directed.

Site Clearance in soft loose soil using mechanical T & P or manually removing the rubbish of the premises complete all as specified.
Ploughing the area upto a depth of 30cm using ploughing equipment. Note: Pulverisation of ploughed soil and homogenous mixing to be carried out by rotovator or equivalent equipment.
Mixing and spraying water cement of 1W:0.2C using mechanical mixing pump and spraying using grouting pump having capacity of discharge upto 6 bars. i.Qty of spray to be as per design mix obtained from IIT/NIT/SEMT Wing. Qty of spray must be such that it does not make the soil plastic. ii. The entire process of mixing of cement and compaction must be completed within 3 Hrs prior to final setting of cement. iii. Cement shall be measured and paid seperately in respective item as per quantity given in design mix. iv. Curing of this area for 14 days must commence post 24 Hrs of compaction
Rolling, compacting with a sheep foot roller and then with 20T plain roller with vibration duly maintaining traverse slope. Prepared surface to have a CBR value of 15% to 20%. Note : The cost for carrying out CBR test shall be paid under item No 22.00 below.

Taking down old unserviceable wind indicator assembly and control wiring with holders and lamps after disconnecting the electric connection and supply, fix and fabricate new illuminated wind indicator (WDI) with new galvanised iron pipe and copper conductor cable single core FRLS 1100 volts grade 2.5 sqmm including LED aviation obstruction light. The holders & lamps shall be fixed on upper surface of wind cone and control wiring shall be laid inside pipe. The wind cone assembly shall be mounted on MS base plate complete all as specified and directed and directed and should conform to ICAO Annex 14, Vol 1
Taking down old unserviceable rotating beacon assembly and control wiring with holders and lamps after disconnecting the electric connection and supply, fix and fabricate new rotating beacon assembly with new galvanised iron pipe and copper conductor cable single core FRLS 1100 volts grade 4.0 sqmm including four lamp of 1000 W each (white and green colour) . The holders & lamps shall be fixed on upper surface of beacon and control wiring shall be laid inside pipe. The Beacon assembly shall be mounted on MS base plate complete all as specified and directed.
Taking down old unserviceable night wind cone and control wiring with holders and lamps after disconnecting the electric connection and supply and fix new Night Wind Cone complete with all accessories all as specified and directed.
Supply, laying in trenches through pipe, testing and commissioning new electric cable, multistranded copper conductor 1100 volts grade, PVC insulated, PVC sheathed cables, unarmoured of size 2 core 2.5sqmm as per IS:1554 Part II.
Taking down old unserviceable pipes/ cable covers and connected items and supply and lay new high density polyethylene DWC pipes of 40mm OD/32mm ID, 6 kgf/sqcm including all fittings (bends, Tees, Elbows, sockets, etc) as required on site, complete all as specified and directed. (For runway light cable protection.) Note:Excavation, return filling and removal of any type of soil/ strata shall be measured and paid separately under respective items of BOQ.
M&L for cutting of bituminous road/Runway/Hardstanding upto 450mm depth by using mechanical method carefully without damaging the surrounding area/bituminous area suitable for taxiway/runway centre line light fitting and insertion of centre line light fitting, matching the existing runway using Dobefil and hardener to fill gap between light and road layers as per manufacturers specifications and PCC bedding complete all as specified and directed. (for runway edge light, runway centre line lights, taxiway cente line lights, taxiway edge inset lights, runway threshold lights)
Excavation in trenches/ existing cable ducts .etc. in any type of soil/ strata and soil conditions not exceeding 1.5m wide and not exc 1.5m in depth for laying of cables, protection pipes and foundations etc and getting it out in any type of soil complete all as specified and directed.

Taking down old unserviceable earthing and M & L for Earthing complete with GI earth plate electrode 600 mm x 600mm x 6.3 mm thick buried directly in ground vertically to a depth not less than 2.25 Mtr below ground level with the top edge of earth plate at depth not less than 1.5 Mtr below ground level connected to galvanised iron strip 32x6 mm by means of bolts, washers ,watering pipe 20mm dia, medium grade GI pipe, with welded funnel and wire mesh and 40mm dia medium grade GI pipe with fitting as protection pipe for strip from plate electrode to test point / plant / machineries etc. including concrete pit in PCC (1:3:6) type C-I having outer dimension 60cmx60cmx60cm and internal dimension 30cmx30cmx30cm, precast RCC 1:2:4 type B-1 cover slab of size 350x350x50mm reinforced with 8mm dia deformed bars @15 cm centre to centre both direction and 10 mm dia MS handle of suitable size charcoal or coke and salt in alternative layers, necessary earth work in soft/loose soil all as shown in electrical plate No 3 of MES Schedule Part I and testing complete all as specified and as directed.

Material and labour for cutting existing flexible pavement of width 70mm and depth 150mm using diamond cutter from edge to centre line of the runway (approx 33.10 meter) and carefully removing old flexible pavement material by means of chiselling / demolition including dispersal outside MoD land, including supply and laying of 40mm dia heavy duty GI pipe (approx 34 meter) length with GI fittings (elbow 01 Nos & T joints as required)Etc complete suitably plugged on both sides with cast iron cap. The 2mm dia stainless steel wire shall be inserted in the pipe and anchored at the ends . GI pipe shall be laid over 25mm thick sand layer and balance portion filled with dense asphaltic concrete Gd -1 duly compacted and rolled to desired proctor density of min 98% and laying the SAMI layer over 1.0 m wide glass grid complete all as specified and as directed by GE. Note : 1.The work shall be carried out in main runway before laying the correction layer i.e DAC 1 2.Glass grid shall conform to requirements given in Table 700-17 of MoRTH having tensile strength of 100 KN/M.
