REPAIR TO JOINT FILLING, ALLIED MAINT WORK, PAINTING IN RUNWAY/TAXI TRACK AT ALG TAWANG AREA UNDER GE 859 EWS

M&L for preparing existing old treated asphaltic surfaces by brushing with plastic wire brushes for removing all dust & dirt and sweeping with brooms and finally fanning the cleaned surface with gunny bags to remove all loose dirt etc. and applying one coat of runway marking, runway paint (aqua base) golden yellow/orange/red for lines, arrows, letters etc. width or girth exc. 100mm, complete all as per specified and as directed. Note: Painting of runway shall be as per users requirement viz once before Mansoon and after mansoon or as necessitated and directed by Engr-in-Charge.

M&L for Racking out of old existing sealant compound and back up rod of the Construction joints by special tools like cutting blades/machines, widening of joints by 2 mm by using joint cutting blades of appropriate size straight and smooth edges. Joint cleaned thoroughly with application of compressed air. Joint shall be made dry, vacuum cleaned and free of dirt, oil vegetation and other debris . Application of two coats of primer with thin brush by forward and backward movement at an interval of 30 minutes before pouring the sealant Thereafter filled with closed cell medium density, cross linked polyethylene foam backup rod of 12 mm dia for complete length of the joint, over it to be filled with polyurethane joint sealant meeting the requirements mentioned in BS-5212, BS 4254 and EN-141875-2003 with minimum movement accommodation factor (MAF) of+!- 30%.

M&L for Racking out of old existing sealant compound, back up rod and filler board of the Expansion joints by special tools like racker/cutting blades/machines, widening of joints by 2 mm by using joint cutting blades of appropriate size, straight and smooth edges. Joint cleaned thoroughly with application of compressed air. Joint shall be made dry, vacuum cleaned and free of dirt, oil, vegetation and other debris Application of two coats of primer with thin brush by forward and backward movement at an interval of 30 minutes before placing the filler board and pouring the sealant Thereafter filled with pre-molded 25 mm thick compressible polyethylene closed cell type filler board as specified, over it filled with closed cell medium density, cross linked polyethylene foam backup rod of 30 mm dia for complete length of the joint. Finally filled with polyurethane joint sealant meeting the requirements mentioned in BS-5212, BS 4254 and EN-141875-2003 with minimum movement accommodation factor MAF of+/- 30%.
