CONSULTANCY SERVICE FOR SOIL INVESTIGATION TO CERTAIN LOCATIONS AT DINJAN MIL STN

Mobilization/Transportation, erection and dismantling of all required equipment at proposed site including deployment of suitable personnel for carrying out soil investigation works complete all as specified and directed.

Carrying out soil Investigation as per relevant IS complete all as specified and directed including the following:- (a) Boring 150mm dia hole at various locations as shown at Site by Engineer-in-Charge in any kind of soil but excluding rock, collection of undisturbed sample at every 1.00m depth, Collection of disturbed sample at suitable depth as required at site. Conducting standard penetration test as per relevant IS as an interval of 1.50m Upto a depth of 15.00m

Carrying out soil Investigation as per relevant IS complete all as specified and directed including the following:- (a) Excavation of Trail Pit of size (1.2m x 1.2m x 1.2m)

Carrying out plate load test as per IS 1888-1987 and any other relevant code for K value of the site as per location shown by the Engr in charge/GE.

Note for Sr. Item No. 1 to 4 above: Carrying out the following laboratory tests on the soil samples as per IS Codes:- per Borehole (a) (i) Sieve analysis and Hydrometer tests of identification and classification of soil based on properties and grain size. (ii) Specific gravity of the soil. (iii) Studies of settlement characteristics of soil based on consolidation tests and liquid and plastic limit. (iv) Stratification of soil for entire depth of bore log including ground water table location and other properties. Evaluation of shear parameters of undisturbed soil samples by adopting direct shear test. (v) Natural moisture content (NMC), Void Ratio and Porosity, Tri- Axial and direct shear test and unconfined compression test of undisturbed samples and Bulk, submerged and Dry Density of the soil. (vi) Plate Load Test. (viii) Free Swelling Index (b) Compilation of SSI Report as per IS (viz. Field and Laboratory test results, Preparation of reports, Recommendation for different type of foundations, water table) with clear unambiguous recommendations for types of foundation for all structures with bearing capacity/pile capacities. (c) The recommendations will be duly vetted by any IIT (Indian Institute of Technology). (d) Submission of all report booklets 05 (Five) copies with CD 01 (One) copy duly indicating the following:- (i) Evaluation of safe bearing capacity of the soil with respect to shear failure test and permissible settlement (Total and differential) alongwith recommendation about type of foundation and minimum depth of foundation to be adopted. (ii) Evaluation of liquefaction potential. (iii) Modulus of subgrade reaction(K-Value) test. (For Runway,dispersal etc). Test to be performed according to IS 9214-1979, method of test will be as per clause 4.31 method 1 of IS 9214. Seating load will be for heavy pavements as per the clauses in IS code and all relevant corrections to be applied. No of tests for runway, dispersal. (iv) Specific suggestion if any soil treatment if required below foundation/ ground floor/roads and type of treatment to be carried out. (v) Bore log diagram duly showing the different layers of strata met alongwith their depths.

Note for Sr. Item No. 1 to 4 above (Contd/----) : (e). Following points to be included in the SSI report (not comprehensive, appropriate data/information may be added as per requirement:- (i) Introduction (ii) Objection of the geotechnical investigations (iii) Details of the proposed structures (iv) Site conditions. (v) Field investigations (vi) Laboratory test results (vii) Soil Profile (viii) Allowable bearing capacity-based on SPT ‘N’ values, ‘c-Ø’ value and permissible settlement with sample calculations. Complete calculations will be submitted in soft copy in the same CD containing the SSI Report. (ix) Liquefaction analysis with calculations. (x) Foundation alternatives duly tabulated building wise. (xi) Clear recommendations duly vetted by IIT. A table showing building name, Borehole No, depth & coordinates of the borehole corrected SPT ‘N’ values and the recommended SBC and clear recommendation for depth and type of foundation including any soil improvement matching with the site plan should form part of the recommendations. (xii) Annexure including bore logs, c- Ø and indicated for Boreholes, Likelihood of water-logging at site must also be checked. (f). If the soil/water has high (more than permissible) contents of sulphate, chlorides or any other deleterious material, the same should be brought out and appropriate recommendation be offered. The required chemical analysis needs to be undertaken for the same. (g). All relevant IS code on the subject should be followed and mentioned at appropriate places. (h). Signed copy to be fwd. (j) Location of Soil investigation as marked on Site Plan: Watch Tower-17 Nos, WP Shed-01 No, ESH-02 Nos, Igloo-10 Nos, Sub station Building-01 No, RA & EA Shed-02 Nos, Night Guard -02 Nos, In & Out building- 01 No and Amenity Room-01 No.
