Manjhanpur Nagar Palika Parishad Water Supply Scheme in District Kaushambi under AMRUT 2.0 Programme
Construction of OHT: Design, Submission of vetted design and drawing from IIT, Supply of all materials, labour, T&P etc. required for construction of INTZ type RCC Overhead Tank with minimum freeboard of 15 cm including Ventilator and Water Level Indicator, Lightning Conductor, C.I. D/F Vertical Pipes (Inlet Pipe-2 No, Outlet Pipe-2 No, Overflow Pipe-1 No & Washout Pipe-1 No), Duck Foot Bend, Puddle Collars and Bell Mouths, DI/D/F Sluice Valves with actuartors on Inlet, Outlet & Washout Pipes and Sluice Valve Chambers, Bypass Arrangement of OHT, Flooring with Apron & Drain (minimum 100 mm thick PCC of 1:2:4 & 100 mm thick RCC of 1:1.5:3 with nominal reinforcement), the construction of a 30x30 cm cement concrete (CC) drain with an internal wall thickness of 100 mm, over a 60 cm wide plain cement concrete (PCC) base of 100 mm thickness in 1:2:4 mix, for rain water disposal of campus, shall be carried out for a minimum length of 100 meters along the boundary wall of the campus up to the disposal point, Floor Level shall be 60 cm above the Finished Ground Level of Campus including supply of earth to fill the whole campus according to the formation level(floor) of OHT, Three Coats of Apex Painting(Painting through spray is prohibited) over One Coat Primer of Approved Colour after Finishing of RCC Surface with Grinder, Repair of Pinholes, Unevenness, supply and fixing of two number 60 Watt solar light system (with dry battery) at the height of second brace of the OHT near stair case and main gate, Railings – G.I. Pipe Railing around Staircase (both sides), Balcony & Top Dome Periphery, S.S. Ladder from Opening of Top Dome to Bottom Dome, Staircase (Separate Two-Column Based RCC Staircase including Escape Channel of 20 m Length, Box-Type Enclosure at the Entrance of the Staircase having Locking Arrangements, and 1.20 m Wide Balcony), Food Grade Epoxy Coating on Inside Surface Area of Water Container after Successful Testing for Water Tightness as specified on the page No.- 194 of Tender Document for Following Capacity and Staging mentioned as per BOQ. For bidding purposes, the bearing capacity of soil shall be considered as 8 t/sq.m. Working design shall be based on the SBC determined (The depth of bore hole shall be two times of proposed dia meter raft foundation of OHT) after soil investigation / 8 tonne/sq.m. The depth of foundation is minimum 2.50 m from existing ground level on raft foundation or pile-cum-raft foundation or at more depth based on the design of the tank, for which no extra claim shall be entertained. The height of columns shall be desided by considering the natural ground level and formation level of floor of OHT. The staging shall be accounted between floor level to bottom ring beam. Note: The bid price of Overhead Tanks is to be submitted considering net safe allowable bearing capacity as 8 t/m², keeping the minimum foundation depth to be 2.5 m below the existing ground level at the site of work. The successful bidder will be required to investigate the soil bearing capacity. If net safe allowable bearing capacity is found to be equivalent to or more than 8 t/m², the design of OHT will be based on 8 t/m² capacity. However, in case the net safe allowable bearing capacity is found to be below 8 t/m², then the design of OHT will be based on the actual bearing capacity, adopting raft foundation or raft-cum-pile foundation.

Construction of CWR: Design, soil investigation, submission of IIT-vetted structural designs and drawings, supply of all materials, labour, tools & plants (T&P), and construction of Clear Water Reservoir (CWR) cum Pumping Station of required capacity including freeboard, as per approved drawings, IS specifications, and directions of the Engineer-in-Charge. The work includes site clearance and development, excavation to required level, bed preparation, construction, refilling and compaction; fixing of inlet, outlet, overflow, washout and other pipes of suitable sizes; stainless steel manhole covers with locking arrangement, ventilators, and suction level indicator; drainage arrangement for complete emptying of CWR for cleaning, repair and maintenance; RCC staircase from top slab to raft foundation/bottom with SS-316 handrails on both sides. Application of food-grade epoxy coating on internal surfaces shall be done after successful water-tightness testing. Provision shall be made for gantry beams or gantry slabs with adequate height and clear space above the gantry, to be finalized during the design of the pumping station. The minimum height of the pumping station shall not be less than 6.5 metres. A rolling shutter shall be provided for the smaller span of the pumping station, and a main gate shall be provided at the longer span.The top surface (roof) of the Clear Water Reservoir, as well as the roof surface of the pumping station, shall be finished with 40 mm thick Kota stone flooring. Provision shall be made for laying electric cables from the motor to the starter in trenches provided within the RCC slab of the Clear Water Reservoir. Open trenches shall be covered with MS chequered plates. During structural design, it shall be ensured that all cables, PVC pipes, and any other electrical or mechanical arrangements required for installation are accommodated within the trenches, without obstructing the floor or other structural elements. The pumping station size shall be decided based on the number of pumping plants, keeping space for a control cabin of minimum 3 m width with uPVC & glass panels, required furniture, and one air-conditioner for SCADA installation. A minimum 3 m × 3 m verandah on 400 mm dia RCC columns shall be provided at the entrance of the pumping station. Provision of two 60-W solar lights with dry battery shall also be made. The external surface of the Clear Water Reservoir up to the ground level shall be painted with bituminous epoxy coating with a minimum thickness of 1000 micron. For bidding purposes, the Safe Bearing Capacity (SBC) of soil shall be considered as 8 t/sq.m. Working design shall be based on SBC obtained from soil investigation or 8 t/sq.m, whichever is lower. Depth of borehole shall be twice the proposed diameter of raft foundation. Minimum foundation depth shall be based on structural design. The clear height of CWR from formation level of the campus shall be minimum 60 cm. on raft or pile-cum-raft foundation, or deeper as per design, with no extra claim on this account. All works complete.

Construction of Pump Houses
Design, soil investigation, submission of vetted structural designs and drawings, supply of all materials, labour, Provide all materials, labour, T&P etc. complete for construction of Pump House size 3.6 x 3.0 x 3.0 m, Chlorinating Room size 1.8 x 2.5 x 3.0 m as per type design and specifications provided in the tender document. The structure will be RCC frame structure providing separate beams at plinth and lintel level. The reinforcement of RCC base slab of the by-pass chamber will be connected with the plinth beam to ensure its stability. There is no fixed minimum depth criterion for the foundation of the pump house. The depth of foundation shall be decided based on firm soil at the time of structural design. Column footings shall extend from the natural ground level down to the formation level of the pump house, as determined by the Engineer-in-Charge, ensuring adequate support and stability. A minimum 230 mm thick brick wall shall be constructed from the footings up to the formation level of the pump house. The column footings shall be left empty and shall not be filled with the earth. The parapet wall above the pump house shall be a minimum of 60 cm high, constructed with 230 mm thick brickwork. For installing the pumping plant, MS girders shall be provided above the pump house, supported on a minimum 450 mm thick brick wall of 1.5 m height. The I-sections shall be properly cast in concrete to ensure structural stability. An MS door of size 1.5 m × 2.1 m height shall be provided. Grills (Fabricated with 10mm square bars) shall be provided on the outside of all windows and ventilators. MS windows shall be designed to open inward into the pump house. The minimum thickness of MS sheet used for the main door and window panels shall be 3 mm. The floor of the Pump House shall be constructed by providing 300 mm sand filling over compacted earth and thereafter 100 mm thick 1:2:4 PCC and 100 mm thick RCC with minimum reinforcement. The floor of the pump house shall be finished with 40 mm thick Kota stone. An RCC staircase, supported on the raft foundation, shall be provided from the formation level up to the floor level of the pump house. The staircase shall also be finished with Kota stone. The V-notch of 6 mm thick MS plate shall be fixed in RCC top beam of 230 mm thickness. The apron shall be constructed with a protection brick wall of 230 mm width & 600 mm thickness, including 100 mm thick RCC with minimum reinforcement over PCC. The extrnal surface of pump house shall be finished with two coats of Asian Apex Ultima exterior paint over one coat of primer. The preperation base surface shall be done with birla wall plast. Painting through spray is prohibited. The top roof slab shall be treated with brick coba using appropriate waterproofing chemicals. The vertical rainwater pipes shall be fixed using minimum 100 mm dia PVC pipes of 8 kg/cm². All works shall be completed to the satisfaction of the Engineer-in-Charge
Provide all materials, labour, T&P etc. complete and construct Pump house size (3.6x3.0x3.0x3.0)m Chlorinating room size (1.80x2.50x3.0)m as per departmental type design for Tube Well.
RENOVATION OF EXISTING STRUCTURE (OHT OF 650 KL/20M STAGING, BOUNDARY WALL & PUMP HOUSES)
Scaffolding: Providing and fixing double scaffolding system (cup lock type) on the exterior side, up to seven-storey height, made with 40 mm dia M.S. tubes at 1.5 m centre to centre, horizontal & vertical tubes joined with cup & lock system with M.S. tubes, M.S. tube challies, M.S. clamps, and M.S. staircase system in the scaffolding for working platform etc., and maintaining it in a serviceable condition for the required duration as approved and removing it thereafter. The scaffolding system shall be stiffened with bracings, runners, connections with the building etc. wherever required for inspection of work at required locations with essential safety features for the workmen etc., complete as per directions and approval of the Engineer-in-Charge. The elevational area of the scaffolding shall be measured for payment purposes. The payment will be made once irrespective of the duration of scaffolding. Note: This item is to be used for maintenance work judicially; necessary deduction for scaffolding in the existing item is to be done
Surface Preparation: Chipping of unsound/weak concrete material from slabs, beams, columns etc. with manual chisel and/or by standard power-driven percussion type tools of approved make, including tapering of all edges, making square shoulders of cavities, including cleaning the exposed concrete surface and reinforcement with wire brushes etc., and disposal of debris for all leads and lifts, all complete by using alkaline chemical rust remover of approved make applied with paint brush, and removing loose particles after 24 hours of its application with wire brush and thoroughly washing with water and allowing it to dry, all complete as per direction of Engineer-in-Charge.
Injection Grouting in Vertical Surface/Wall: Placing and fixing nozzles by drilling machine in tank wall having minimum diameter of nozzle 15 mm, and provided at regular intervals not exceeding 1.0 m (the center-to-center distance of nozzles shall not be more than 1.0 m), including construction joints. Injection of Pidicrete AM (polymer-based, high-strength, shrinkage-compensated grout) admixed with cement through nozzles under pressure by sump at the rate of 250 grams per bag of cement. Sealing the nozzles after grouting with polymer product mixed with cement
Repairing of Spalled and Loose Concrete: Where reinforcement is exposed, apply Fixit Rust Remover by means of brush to the reinforcement for cleaning bars and steel surface. Then apply a bonding coat of acrylic-based polymer with cement slurry in 1:1 ratio to the pre-wetted concrete by brush. Now apply the mixture of 1:1 cement and coarse sand to the prepared substrate when the primer becomes tacky. The repair shall be done using 50 mm thick M25 grade concrete.
Dismantling of all existing sluice valves of Inlet/Outlet/Washout and sluice valve chambers and replace all the valves with DI sluice valves including reconstruction of sluice valve chambers, repairing/replacement of vertical pipes/rubber packings, grouting of vertical pipes at cone wall of the OHT, replacement of existing M.S. ladder with S.S. ladder (The size of SS 304 rectangular tube shall be 50x100 mm with a minimum 3.0 mm wall thickness) inside the tank, replacement of M.H. cover with fixing of frame on the top dome, replacement of mosquito jali with a new one complete. Supply and fixing of 20 mm dia G.I. pipe railing around staircase (both sides), balcony & top dome periphery. Supply and fixing of water level indicator, lightning conductor on the top dome and making earthing with required earthing wire from top to bottom of the tank, 100 mm thick 1:4:8 plain cement concrete and 100 mm thick RCC of M15 grade flooring with apron with 3 mm floating coat of neat cement, including protection brick wall (230x600 mm in 1:4 cement mortar including 12 mm thick plaster on the outer surface) on the outer edge of the floor shall be constructed. The fabricating/repairing of escape channel of 20 m length, box-type enclosure at the entrance of the staircase having locking arrangements, food grade epoxy coating of FOSROC / Ciba-Geigy on the inside surface area of the water container after successful testing for water tightness and three coats of Apex painting (Asian Apex Ultima exterior paint) over one coat primer of approved colour after finishing of RCC surface with grinder, repair of pinholes, unevenness, as per the direction of the Engineer-in-Charge.
Dismantling of damaged part of plaster, brick work, RCC work, floor, apran, other damaged part of Boundary Wall & Pump House of OHT campus/outside the campus including sorting and stacking of serviceable and disposal of unserviceable material within a distance of 8 km. For surface preparation, the cleaning of the exposed brick work/concrete surface shall be done with wire brushes. All brick work repairing in 1:4 cement and Coarse sand mortar and 12 mm thick plaster in 1:3 shall be done to repair the damaged structures. The floor and apran of the pump house shall be done with 100 mm PCC in 1:2:4 and 100 mm thick RCC with 1:1.5:3. The bye pass chamber of the pump house shall be repaired or reconstructed as per requirement of the site. All external surface of the pump house and boundary wall will be done in three coats of Apex Painting (Asian Apex Ultima exterior paint) over one coat primer of approved colour after finishing work. The painting work of internal surface of the pump house will be done with plastic paint. The roof top of the pump house shall be finished with new brick coba work including replacement of rainwater pipes. All damaged doors and windows shall be replaced with new MS doors and windows. The MS Girder will be replaced if required. All works shall be done including supply of all materials, labour, T&P etc. required for proper completion of the work as per the direction of the Engineer-in-Charge.

Renovation of Pump house: For renovation of the pump house, all existing external and internal plaster shall be removed and replaced with new 12 mm thick plaster. The floor of the pump house shall be dismantled and reconstructed in RCC, finished with 40 mm thick Kota stone. The plastered surfaces shall be finished with Birla wall putty, followed by one coat of base paint and two coats of Apex Ultima exterior paint. The existing apron shall be dismantled and a new RCC apron constructed, supported on 60 cm deep and 230 mm thick brickwork. The top roof slab shall be treated with brick coba using appropriate waterproofing chemicals. An RCC staircase, supported on the raft foundation, shall be provided from the formation level up to the floor level of the pump house. The staircase shall also be finished with Kota stone. The vertical rainwater pipes shall be fixed using minimum 100 mm dia PVC pipes of 8 kg/cm². All existing electrical wiring, fittings, and light fixtures shall be dismantled and replaced with new electrical wiring and fittings. LED-based tube lights shall be provided. The minimum size of electrical wire used shall be 2.5 sq.mm. A separate new halogen light shall be fixed at the top of the pump house to provide illumination in front of the pump house. The parapet wall shall be examined by the Engineer-in-Charge, and reconstruction shall be carried out as per their direction. All doors and windows shall be replaced in accordance with the provisions for new construction of the pump house. any item not discribed shall be done according to new item of the pump house. All works shall be completed to the satisfaction of the Engineer-in-Charge.

Road dismantling and Restoration
Dismantling of the specified types of road surfaces, both old and new, including supply of all materials, labour, tools and plants (T&P), etc., required for proper completion of the work shall be carried out as per the instructions of the Engineer-in-Charge. Dismantling of bituminous and cement concrete (CC) roads shall be done only by using approved bituminous/CC road cutters or breakers and strictly along the true alignment of the pipeline. In case of tiled road surfaces, only manual dismantling shall be permitted. If road cutting is carried out directly using JCB or other heavy equipment resulting in unnecessary or excess damage to the road surface, deduction for the extra damaged area shall be made based on the applicable rates for reinstatement. Bidders must examine the scope before submitting their rates. All unserviceable material obtained after dismantling of the road shall be immediately disposed of by the contractor. HOUSE CONNECTION: Providing and making water supply house connection from distribution pipeline of following diameters using 20 mm dia pipe (HDPE pipe (PE 100 / PN 12.5) below ground and medium class GI pipe above ground), saddle (electro-fusion tapping saddle for making connection with HDPE distribution pipeline, DI strap saddle, ferrule for making connection with distribution pipeline other than HDPE), transition coupler fittings (PE 100 / SDR 11 / 16 bar FTA, MTA with one end electro-fusion), bib cock, specials, including supply of all materials, labour, T&P etc. required for proper completion of the work as specified in the tender document. The house connection GI service pipe shall be fixed at the top of the drain and run vertically up to one metre height on the wall of the consumer’s premises. A 25 mm diameter hole shall be made in the consumer’s wall using a drilling machine or core cutter to allow the GI pipe to pass inside the house. The stop cock or bibcock shall be installed inside the consumer’s premises and shall not be fixed outside under any circumstances. If site restrictions or household conditions require any deviation, prior consent shall be obtained from the Assistant Engineer/Engineer-in-Charge Dismantling of bituminous and cement concrete (CC) roads shall be done only by using approved bituminous/CC road cutters or breakers and strictly along the true alignment of the pipeline. In case of tiled road surfaces, only manual dismantling shall be permitted. If road cutting is carried out directly using JCB or other heavy equipment resulting in unnecessary or excess damage to the road surface, deduction for the extra damaged area shall be made based on the applicable rates for reinstatement. The equipment shall be suitable for cohesive, silty, sandy, or mixed soils and capable of achieving proper compaction in narrow trenches and confined spaces. The rammers shall be diesel or petrol engine driven with adequate impact force and jumping stroke for uniform compaction. All labour, fuel, and tools required for operation of the rammers shall be arranged by the contractor. The use of appropriate mechanical vibrators is mandatory for trench backfill, and payment shall be linked to proper compaction as per specifications. In case the contractor fails to carry out compaction with mechanical vibrators, 50% of the road reistatment cost shall be deducted from the contractor’s payment. Shifting House Connection
The contractor shall supply all materials, tools, plants, and labour required for shifting and adjusting existing water supply house connections from the old pipeline to the new pipeline. All work shall be carried out as per the specifications and conditions applicable to new water supply house connections, including materials, fittings, and installation standards for proper completion of work as per instructions of Engineer-in-charge. During execution of the shifting of water supply house connections, the scope of work related to a new house connection shall be reduced to the extent that installation of the vertical GI pipe and bibcock inside the consumer’s premises shall not be required. All other terms and conditions for shifting, including supply of materials, tools, plants, and labour, shall remain applicable as per the specifications for new house connections.

Boundary Wall and MS Gate: The contractor shall carry out design, soil investigation, submission of structural designs and drawings, and supply all materials, labour, tools, and plants (T&P) required for construction of the boundary wall (1.8m high above plinth beam) of the OHT/TW campus. The boundary wall shall be designed as an RCC framed structure. The minimum size of columns shall be 230 mm × 230 mm, provided at 3.00 m centre-to-centre. Plinth beams and top beams shall also be provided. A 0.60-meter-high Y-shape wire fencing in 6 rows shall be provided, using wire conforming to IS standards. The boundary wall shall be plastered with 12 mm thick cement mortar in 1:4 ratio, finished with Birla Wall Plast, and painted with Asian Apex Ultima exterior paint over one coat of base paint. The colour of the paint shall be as approved by the Engineer-in-Charge. In cases where the boundary wall is constructed to protect a Pump House, no wicket gates shall be required. RCC ramps or stairs shall be provided to facilitate access to the main gate of the campus or the Pump House as necessary. The work includes fabrication and fixing of MS main gates of 3.60 m width and 2.5 m height, and wicket gates of 1.0 m width, using 20 mm square bars, including one coat of base paint and two coats of enamel paint. The minimum size of main gate columns shall be 600 × 600 mm, and plinth beams shall be provided. The foundation depth may be increased depending on site conditions, and plinth beams shall be constructed at a minimum of 30 cm above the formation level of the campus. The cost of construction of the main gate and wicket gate is deemed to be included in the running meter construction cost of the boundary wall, and no separate payment shall be made for these gates. At each campus, one main gate and one wicket gate shall be provided. The length of the boundary wall shall not affect the construction or cost of the gates. All work shall be executed for proper completion to the full satisfaction of the Engineer-in-Charge.

External walls shall be painted with Asian Apex Ultima exterior paint, and internal walls with two coats of Tractor emulsion plastic paint over one coat of primer. All doors and windows shall be made of UPVC material; windows shall be sliding type with GI grills and mosquito mesh on windows and ventilators. Electrical wiring and fittings shall be done using 2.5 mm² Havells wires, with all switches, sockets, and accessories from Havells. Plumbing shall be done using UPVC pipes, and sanitary fixtures shall be from Cera, Hindware, or Jaguar. Floors shall be finished with 8 mm thick vitrified tiles, and the kitchen counter shall be 25 mm thick granite stone with proper finishing. The staff quarter shall consist of two rooms with attached toilets, one kitchen, an open guest area, and one common toilet. Plinth protection and apron shall also be provided as specified in the tender document to ensure proper drainage and site finishing.

Rain Water Harvesting Unit The contractor shall carry out the design, submission of IIT/NIT-vetted structural design and drawings, and supply of all materials, tools, plants, and labour required for construction of rainwater harvesting recharge pits. The design of the rainwater harvesting units may vary depending on the area of each waterworks campus; the contractor shall ensure preparation of appropriate designs for all campuses. If a separate design is required for any individual campus, it shall be prepared at the contractor’s cost. The work shall include construction of two bore wells up to the first water table stratum using a minimum 200 mm PVC pipe of 8 kg/cm². Inlet and overflow chambers of minimum 0.6 m × 0.6 m shall be constructed in RCC M-20, with 350 mm thick brick walls on suitable foundations up to the required depth as per approved design and drawings. The pit shall be filled with suitable media in layers of specified thickness. A piezometer shall be installed for monitoring the water table, as per the directions of the Engineer-in-Charge.
Earth filling in TW campus (other than OHT campus): Supply of all materials, tools and plants for filling of earth in the TW campus including site preparation, surface leveling, earth filling or lifting to achieve the required formation level, plantation, and all other associated activities.
