Soil Investigation as per Scope of Work given as under :- (a) Labor for making bore hole (Bore hole – 100mm dia) by any standard method to following depth below ground level in all kinds of soil like clay, slit clay, mixed slit etc, except rock (for the purpose of collecting distrubed and undisturbed soil samples, conducting standard penetration test at suitable intervals etc. in any type of soil - Depth 0 mtr of refusal whichever is earlier.(b) Carring out the tests to ascertain soil/soft rock profile for determination of Scale Bearing Capacity (SBC) at worj site by drilling holes as per relevant/latest IS Code, collecting samples of disturbed ad understurbed soil at every 0.5 m or change of strata, whichever is less, conducting of following field and Labortatory investigations, complation of test results as per relevant and latest IS Code :- (i) ConSPT at every change in strata or at interval or not more than 1.0 m, whichever is less. The test may be made at intervals if specified or considered necessary as per Clause 3.31 of IS-2131(ii) Sieve analysis. (iii) Natural moisture content. (iv) Atterberg limit. (v) Particle size analysis (vi) Bulk and dry density (Vii) Specific gravity (viii)Chemical tests for harmfurl salts or organic matter if any viz . pH Value, Chloride & Sulphate, etc. (ix) Shear strength characeristics of soil including Cohesion and Angle of Internal Friction using direct shear test. (x) differential free swell test, swelling indez and swelling pressure test shall be carried out on Swelling type soil/BC Soil. (xi) Harmful salt and organic matter if any. (xii) Rock tests, if required viz. unconfined compressive strength, Rock quality designation, Tensile strength test, study of stratigraphy.(xiii) C value for unconfined test condition for clayey soil.(xiv) Consolidation characteristics - Consolidated Undrained test (CU). Cousolidation test shall be caried out on an undistrubed sample to know CC value of soil, Initial void ratio of soil. The consolidation data is required to work out consolidation settlement.(c) Preparation and submission of soil ivenstigation report in Five (05) bound copies and one soft copy giving all relevant recommendation in respct of suitable type of foundation wrt. type of building and its loading etc. The report shall contain detailed calculations for arriving at Safe Bearing Capacity (SBC) which Shall be least if the value obtained from settlement critera and shear failure critera at proposed foundation depth of 1.0 m, 1.5 m, 2.0m and 2.5 m for Isolated/Strip/raft footing. In case, the soil necessitate provision of Pile Foundation for the proposed structure, the design of suitable type of pile along with its diameter, length, reinforcement details and load carring capacity for various lengths shall be given with detailed calculations for arriving at pile capacity.

Report shall also include: (i) Photographic record 9one photograph for each borehole) of equipment mobilized in presence of MES staff when the borintg is in progress. (ii) GPS reading (+/- 10m) of each bore hole along whth GPS reading of standard benchmark, water bodies, filled up earth, depression of change in soil strata existing in near vicinity, if any. (iii) recommendation for depthe of filling and type of soil (preferably locally available earth) for replacement of poor/black cotton soil where required. Mobilization charges of all tools and plants along with accessories material, labour supervisor etc, at site of work required in connection with boring and testing work including setting up boaring and shifting it to different bore hole points etc ad also including withdrawal of the same from the site after compleation of work.
