BPCL TANKs

Fabrication,erection and welding of vertical tanks by jacking-upmethod; as per designed drawing (design is not included in the scope of this item) out of free issue steel plates (Bottom,Shell,Wind Girders,Re-inforcement Pads,Backing Strips for bottom plate ,Dip Plates ,Extension Plates / Platforms etc.) The job includes : 1. Handling / shifting of steel plates meant for tank erection fromstorage point inside BPCL's Project premises to the tank erection site;preparation of fabrication drawing and obtaining approval from TPIA &BPCL/BANDR as per our standard drawing and sizes of plates available at site;cutting and edge preparation of the plates as required; rolling ofplates for shell of the tanks; fabrication,assembling and welding as perour standard / relevant specifications and as directed by theEngineer-in-charge. 2. Testing of tank bottoms and roof deck using vacuum box test method asper API/BPCL standards.The rate shall include all charges towardsconsumables such as Water,Electricity,tools and tackles,labour,liftingjacks & machinery required to complete the job. Providing all temporarystructure and labour for completion of the job as per drawing andaccounting of unused scrap material as per tender clause. 3.100 % DP testing of root runs and any other tests specified as perdrawings and specifications and also submission of AS BUILT drawings.

Radiography of shell plate weld joints as per API 650 latest edition.Oil Chalk test for bottom shell joint and pneumatic test for allreinforcement pad shall be carried out by contractor. Fabricationdrawing shall be prepared and approved from TPIA & BPCL/B AND R by contractorbased on the designed drawings. As built drawing shall be submitted bycontractor during submission of final documents. 5 Inspection/supervision by BPCL recommended TPIA (as per list attached)and scope of work/QAP. ( APPOINTMENT OF TPIA IS EXCLUDED FROM CONTRACTORS SCOPE OF WORK & SHALL BE APPOINTED BY B AND R SEPERATELY) Tank fabrication and installation shall be as per API-650(Latestedition) / BPCL standards. Rate to be quoted in KG of steel plates used for tank fabrication. The scope also include construction of fixed roof including Ladder ,Vents , Circulation vents , Overflow slot , Fixed roof manholes ,Inspection hatch , hand rails , Roof nozzles , Silica gel trap inOverflow slot , Circulation vent , Roof vent for ethanol application asper API 650 ( latest Edition). Fabrication,erection and welding of Single/double Deck Pontoon Typefloating Roof with provision for adjustable counter weight (buoy) as perAPI latest edition, foam dam from free issue steel plates; and carryingout roof tests/floatation test and other requirements indicated in thespecifications as per API 650(latest edition) for floating Roof Tanks. Structural steel required in temporary staging for fabrication ofcomplete roof deck shall be in contractor scope and shall not be paidfor seperately. However,permanent structure required for this job whichare integral part of deck and pontoon shall be paid separately underother item of BOQ. Fabrication of roof centre sump with necessary cover using BPCL/BANDR supplied plates shall be covered under this item. Testing of roof shall be done as per API 650 (latest edition). Supplying,fabricating,erecting,assembling,fixing,welding as per theenclosed specification/sheet / drawing. All the structural (incl. curb angle,wind grider,splash plates,brackets;structural supports; roof structure(truss,rafters) etc.) and allattachments and fasteners such as nuts & bolts; Double washers;Cleatsetc. as per specifications. NOTE :Nuts; Bolts; Double washers; Cleats shall not be measured for thepurpose of the payment but is included under the scope of work of thisitem. STRUCTURALS FOR AG CONE ROOF TANK INCLUDING HAND RAIL: Supplying,fabricating,Fixing and Erection of structural steel structuresrequired for spiral staircase including hand railing,chequered plateplatform,landings,top platforms,earthing connections cleats,wind girdersupports,stiffners,gussets and pad plates excluding gratings. Fixing / Erection and welding of Hand-Rail and Painter's Bracket withD-shackle bolts as per drawing No. S/CE/0081 is included in the scope ofwork . Supply of all materials, consumables, labour, equipments/ machinery,tools & tackles required to complete the work as per drawings, scope ofwork and instructions of BPCL Engineer-in-Charge. All the structural sections shall be SAIL/TISCO/RINL/VIZAG steel orequivalent make (after prior approval from BPCL). Payment shall be done on the KG (Kilograms) basis of the steel used forgratings.Separate measurements will not be taken for nuts, bolts, washers etc for paymentpurpose. Supplying; fabricating; Fixing/Erection of hot dip galvanised MSgratings for tank spiral staircase,valve operating platforms,laddersetc.GI coating shall conform to IS 4759. The staircase steps to be welded to the tank shell through angle and notdirectly to the Tank Body. Supply, fabrication and erection in position; bolted and/or weldedstructural steel works at all levels; including all built-up sections/compound sections made out of rolled sections and / or platesintrusses; rafters; purlins; wind ties; coloumns; portals; platforms;staircases; (excluding chequered plates, swing ladders, foundationboltsand gratings) ladders; stoppers; brackets sag rods; supportsforequipment and accessories; hand railings posts cutting to requiredsize as per approved drawings; straightening if required bolting/welding of joints (including sealing the joints of the box sections withcontinuouswelding wherever specified) finishing edges by grinding;fixing in lineand level with temporary staging and removal of same aftererection; grouting with ordinary grout or non-shrink grout as specified;including preparation of detailed fabrication drawings, cost ofpainting as specified below, complete in all respect as directed byEngineer-in-charge. Cost of nutbolts to be borne by contractor. NOTE : 1. All structural steel shall conform to IS-2062 & IS-808 and ofSAIL/TISCO/IISCO/ JINDAL/ ESSAR/ VIZAG STEEL or equivalent make withprior approval from B AND R/ BPCL only. 2. The structure may be Pre-fabricated with bolting arrangementsbymaking necessary holes, shot blasting (SA 2.5) and painting exceptfinal coat,which will be carried out after completion of the erectionworks. Min. hot works will be allowed at site. It is vendorsresponsibility to verify the actual measurements at site before makingthe bolting shedule.
