CROSSINGS/LAYING ALONG THE ROAD BY HDD METHOD

Complete work of pipeline crossing by Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) method, within the limits as defined in approved drawings, including engineering, surveys, approvals, execution, testing, and commissioning, in accordance with Contract Documents, applicable codes, specifications, and instructions of the Engineer-in-Charge.

Transportation & Handling Receiving and taking over Owner-supplied three-layer PE coated line pipes from Owner’s designated storage/issue point and transportation to Contractor’s stockyard/workshop/worksite, including all loading, unloading, handling, stacking, shifting, alignment, and safe storage.

Engineering, Surveys & Approvals Detailed pre-construction surveys based on site visits Collection of historical and utility data from concerned authorities. Design calculations, profile design, stress analysis, minimum cover calculations as per applicable codes Detailed engineering and preparation of HDD crossing drawings Submission of drawings, calculations, and methodology for approval of Owner / Engineer-in-Charge / concerned statutory authorities Obtaining any NOC and utility crossing clearances prior to commencement of work

Mobilization Mobilization of all manpower, HDD rigs, equipment, tools, consumables, machinery, utilities, temporary facilities, and acquisition of land (if required) for storage, fabrication, and execution.

Pipe String Preparation Stringing and preparation of pipes Welding including welding repairs Radiography / NDT and retesting Field joint coating using special type Heat Shrink Sleeve (Dirax or equivalent) Coating repairs using PERP-80 or equivalent approved repair materials Pre-hydrotesting of complete pipe strings prepared for HDD crossing

HDD Execution Pilot drilling to the approved alignment and depth Reaming (one or multiple stages as required) to achieve the required bore diameter Maintaining bore stability in all soil/rock strata encountered Pulling / installation of pipeline string through HDD bore using approved methods Ensuring minimum cover as per codes/specifications or as decided by the concerned authority, whichever is more

Testing Post-installation hydrotesting of HDD section, including dewatering Pigging, cleaning, gauging, and final hydrotesting in coordination with mainline works Tie-in welding with adjacent pipeline sections and associated testing

Restoration & Clean-Up Backfilling of entry/exit pits, restoration of road/ground, disposal of waste materials, and complete site clean-up to the satisfaction of the Engineer-in-Charge and concerned authorities.

Laying of carrier pipeline of size 250 (approx.) mm NB x 6.4 mm thk. of API 5L Gr. B (along with laying of 4'' Steel Pipe for MDPE) by HDD Method .

Note: (i) Crossing width and actual HDD string length shall vary based on approved design calculations and site conditions to ensure stresses are within permissible limits as per codes/specifications. Final string length and depth of cover shall be approved by the concerned authority / Engineer-in-Charge.

(ii)Payment shall be made on the actual length of pipeline laid by HDD, measured between approved tie-in joints.

(iii) Rates are inclusive of transportation, mobilization, engineering, approvals, string preparation, welding, NDT, pre-testing, HDD execution (pilot drilling, reaming, pulling), coating, post-hydrotesting, restoration, and all incidental activities required for successful completion of the HDD crossing including Post-hydrotesting.
