APPLICATION OF POLYMER MODIFIED EMULSION ON RUNWAY FLEXIBLE PORTIONS AND EARTH FILLING AND SHOULDER LEVELING ON SHOULDERS OF RUNWAY IN AIRFIELD AF STN AWANTIPUR

M&L for approved earth soil for construction of shoulders/berms, using approved material obtained from borrow areas outside MOD land by the contractor at his own cost. Work shall include with all lifts & leads, transportation to site, and testing of soil as per IS: 2720. The material shall have Minimum laboratory dry density (MLDD) not less than 17.5 KN/Cum. Note :- (a) The soild incorporated for preparation of subgrade, shoulders, berms, etc. shall be tested and approved by any govt laboratory before use. (b) Measurement for payment shall be executed in the area of proposed embankment prior to stacking of soil brought from borrow areas outside MOD land. (c) The borrow soil shall be approved by the Engr-in-Charge prior to utilisation.

Forming embankments from available earth including raising (or lowering) earth spreading in layers n exc. 30 cm thick, levelling, watering and well ramming. Each layer to be compacted using Soil Compactor (Vibratory Roller 10-12 tonnes) to achieve dry density to 95% of Modified Maximum Proctor Density as per IS 2720 Part VII complete all as specified & directed. Note :-(a) The formation levels for the embankment shall be prepared considering a uniform transverse slope of 1% from the centerline/edge of the existing carriageway. The contractor shall ensure that the final compacted surface strictly follows the designed slope to facilitate proper drainage. (b)Before Commecent of work OGL Survey to be carried out by the contractor as approx.area 33800 sqm at 5mx5m interval and Levels be recorded jointly by Engr-in-Charge/JE and Contractor using Auto level/Total station. Any rework due to incorrect levels or improper slope shall be corrected by the contractor at his own cost. (c) All survey, level taking, setting out, and alignment works required for embankment formation shall be carried out entirely at the contractor’s own cost. No extra payment shall be entertained for any survey-related activity.

Surfaces Dressing not exc. 15cm in depth including Earth Heaps in Soft/Loose Soil and cutting Jungles, Bushes, etc complete all as specified and directed by Engineer in Charge.

M&L for preparation of black top surface by wire brushes for removing caked mud etc sweeping with brooms and finally fanning cleaned surface to remove all loose dust etc and wetting the surface with water as directed by Engineer -in - charge, applying High Quality , quick setting and versatility Bitumen emulsion RS-1 is a type of Rapid setting polymer modified emulsion , Specification as per ASTM D997, IS 8887 with mechanical sprayer in two coat and each coat @0.6 Kg( 0.30 Kg Solution + 0.30 Kg water) /Sqm mix with water 1:1 as directed by Engineer -in - charge.

&L for Preparation of Old/ New existing concrete/ bituminous painted surface by brushing off the loose particle or dust etc any loose flakes of old paint and applying adequate no. of coats of exterior water based emulsion paint of any colour , white/yellow/ orange in marked pattern such as line, dashes, arrows, and letter etc.exc 10cm wide complete all as directed by Engineer -in - charge.or equivalent makes as per CA provisions. Notes : 1. Colour shade will be finalized by GE before incorporating in work. 2. Painting to be done in every quarter and measured each time seperately.
