Carrying out geological investigation and sub soil extraction by drilling of 150 mm dia holes at required locations upto 10.00 m from existing GL to determine SBC of soil / soft rock, profile of strata, water table, sub water pressure etc complete all as per IS as specified and as directed on site. NOTE:- SBC shall be determined at every 1.0 m interval upto the depth of bore hole, Quoted rate shall deemed to be included for drilling bore holes and determining SBC complete with field and lab investigation according to relevant specification of IS-2131, IS-6403, IS-1498 & IS-2720 as mentioned below:- (a) Conduction of 150mm bore diameter bores upto 10m depth according to IS 1892-1988 and 1892-1979. (b) Conducting standard penetration tests (SPT) as per 2131-1988 .The testing shall be made at every change in strata or at the interval of not more than 1.5 mtr which ever is less. The test may be made at least intervals if specified or considered necessary as per 3.31 of IS 2131-1988. Contd.. 1.002

1.001 contd.. (c) Collection of disturbed and undistrubed soil samples at interval of 1.00 mtr or at change of strata or as per relevant IS code. (d) Conduction of laboratory tests on disturbed/undisturbed (soil/soft rock samples). As considered necessary according to the relevant of IS specification of 2720 as given below:- (i) Sieve Analysis (ii) Atterberg limits (iii) Natural moisture content (iv) Particle size analysis test (v) Bulk Density (vi) Specific Gravity (vii) Free swell index and swelling properties of soil (viii) Organic mater in soil if any (ix) Consolidation test (Compressed index value) (x) Triaxial compression test and determination of shear parameter (C & φ Test) as per relevant IS (xi) Harmful salt (complete investigation as already ref) (e) Ground Water Table :- (i) Maximum and minimum levels of ground water in the area with source of information (ii) Ground water table during the investigation

(ii) Ground water table during the investigation NOTE FOR Sl ITEM NO. 1 AND 2 :- (a) Preparation and submission of soil report duly incorporating all above factors and should clearly bring out recommendation for foundation based on total size/ loading of structure and 1.004 contd..

1.003 contd.. soil profile .Report should also include the recommendations for filiing of soil with type and replacement of soil in case if it is required .Recommendations for floor design to be given in case of black cotton soil. in 6 hard copies and one soft copy. (b) The SBC of the soil is required to be given at every 1 m interval upto the depth of bore hole . Calculation of bearing capacity will be governed generally as per IS-8009 (Pt-I)-1976, IS 2720 (Pt-II)-1980, IS 6403-1981, IS-1904-1986 & IS-1080-1985 and other relevant IS codes. (c) With every site's soil Investigation Report, a details site plan showing the aprox location of each bore duly numbered as per log of bore hole should be enclosed. (d) Every Page of the soil Investigation Report should have the Name of the Job for which soil Investigation is being carried out. In case of multiple sites of a single Job area being investigated name of each site shall be put on each page of report pertaining to the sites. (e) All pages of the Soil Investigation Report shall be serially numbered, stamped and signed by the agency carrying out the soil Investigation. (f) As the locations of each bore hole is spread in 10 km diameter as shown in site plan attached, Transportation charges including loading and unloading of heavy girders, T&P, technician etc complete from laboratory to work site and back shall be deemed to be included in rates quoted by the tenderer.
